HOW TO PARTICIPATE

[email protected] by 30 April 2015 at the latest. If you sign up before 31 January 2015, it only costs DKK 1,100 per chapter. If you sign up later, but before 30 April 2015 it costs DKK 1,300 per chapter.

Each participants in your local competition is to make a speech of 5 minutes based on one of the 30 topics to choose from.

HOW TO CARRY OUT THE COMPETITION IN YOUR LOCAL CHAPTER

The competition can be held during a normal chapter meeting or as part of a course or weekend activities. Some chapters choose to make a training before the actual competition. You can get a visit from a JCI trainer who can teach you presentation techniques. Or you can get a visit from a former participant of the national competition and hear about their experiences.

For the competition you need judges. Judges may be the other members of your chapter, but we recommend that you use trained judges (which you can find by checking www.jci.dk/dgm/ or contact JCI Slagelse), or you can ask members from another chapter if they will judge your local competition.

Judges scoring sheets can be found on www.jci.dk/dgm/ and must be used for the competition. At our website you can also find more about the rules and judging criteria.

You do not need to set up an entire competition in your chapter. Even if just one member wants to participate in the competition, you can sign up and then this member will be your

representative in the region finals. All participants can choose to hold their speech in English or Danish.
