Chrysler
which
produced
the
Dodge
Ram
1500
at
Fenton
(closed
in
July
2009),
GM
which
produces
the
Chevy
Express
and
GMC
Savana
at
Wentzville,
and
Ford
(Escape,
F
‐
150,
Mercury
Mariner)
and
Mazda
(Tribute)
with
plants
in
Claycomo.
Graphite/Carbon
Products
–
The
UAE
accounted
for
$10.7
million
or
7.3%
of
Missouri’s
exports
of
non
‐
electrical
graphite
and
carbon
products.
Zoltek
has
locations
in
Bridgeton
and
St.
Charles.
Batteries
–
The
UAE
accounted
for
$10.8
million
or
3.2%
of

2007,
Missouri’s
sales
of
cars
and
trucks
to
the
UAE
were
relatively
small.
In
2007
and
2008,
exports
increased
to
$65
million
and
$22
million,
respectively.
From
2006
to
2008,
exports
of
cars
and
trucks
averaged
nearly
40%
of
the
state’s
total
exports
to
the
UAE.
Exports
of
cars
and
trucks
from
Missouri
fell
in
2009
to
$2
million.
In
2010
‐
11
exports
of
cars
have
recovered,
reaching
$21
million
in
2010
and
$39
million
in
2011,
while
in
2012
exports
remained
strong

in
the
two
Congressional
districts
around
St.
Louis
(MO
‐
1
and
MO
‐
2)
.
General
Motors
produces
vans
at
its
Wentzville
assembly
plant,
Boeing
produces
aircraft
undercarriages
in
St.
Louis,
and
two
air
conditioning
manufacturers
that
export
to
the
UAE,
True
Manufacturing
and
Emerson
Electric
,
also
are
located
in
these
districts.
The
Ford
plant
in
MO
‐
6
produces
several
hybrid
models
and
has
recently
increased
production.
In
July
2009,
Chrysler
closed
its
plant
in
MO
‐
2.
Before
the
recent
closures,
the
automobile
industry
employed
more
than
25,000
workers
in
Missouri.
