Parties & Events at The Strand
Our vibrant, friendly pub is a unique venue spread over three floors with a small sheltered garden. We have two magnificent rooms for private get-togethers, one upstairs and one in the basement. We can of course also reserve tables in our main bar for more informal bashes. Whether it’s for that special birthday party, a business meeting or for private dining we’re sure we have something for you.
Upstairs
Our upstairs dining room is a simply stunning room for private dining, business meetings or smaller parties. Opulently decorated it really is a great private space. We can seat up to 22 on one large table or up to 24 on two tables, and for buffets the room can hold up to 45. Our chefs can develop all sorts of menus to suit, or you can choose from one of our buffet options.

Downstairs
Our basement room has a party feel about it the moment you step in. It is suitably intimate and has its own bar with draught and bottled drinks if you want it. DJ’s or playlists can be organised, or you can bring your own music and plug it in to the sound system. It can hold 60 depending how much room you need for dancing.

Delicious Drinks
We have a perfectly formed wine list (i.e. carefully selected and not pages long); 5 ales on tap which regularly change, great draught beers and ciders and a varied and intriguing array of bottled beers. We serve cocktails and can provide specific concoctions for your event, including our special cocktails in a teapot (trust us, tea never tasted this good).
Fabulous Food
Our food philosophy is all about simple, fresh food. All our food is prepared in house by our ever so talented chefs and therefore we can be extremely flexible about menus. If you have a specific requirement (or craving), just ask the question and we’ll do our best to pull something together for you.

Tech Stuff
If you wish to bring an iPod or similar we can plug it in to the sound system in either of our rooms. Equally if you have a playlist request we can dust off our DJ skills and source
something for you.
We regularly host live music nights at The Strand so if you’re after some live music we can provide you with some details and recommendations. Equally if you want a DJ we have chaps that we regularly use and who will get you making those shapes on the dance floor.
We have a projector and screen for presentations and we have free Wi-Fi throughout the building.
Meetings
Our rooms are used for a number of different meeting purposes. From Business Meetings, to Training Courses, to “Knit and Natter” Groups our spaces offer great flexibility. We have a projector and screen and free Wi-Fi. We can organise coffee, tea and biscuits at prescribed times or set up a hot drinks station in the room. A hire fee or minimum spend is applicable.
Costs
Room hire is subject to a minimum spend, which is normally covered if you are having food or partying. We also require a £50 deposit to secure the room booking for you. Please have a chat with our Events Manager, Georgia for further information.

Your booking is confirmed once we have received your deposit and a signed booking form. This deposit is non refundable. On arrival we will kindly ask for a card to act as guarantee against any minimum spend requirement agreed. The balance payment for your function is due on the day of the event. If ordering food from a set menu we will ask for the pre-order choices form 5 days before the event. Please inform us of any changes to numbers or choices for your sit down meal no less than 48 hours in advance of your booking. For finger food menus please confirm any changes to party size no less than 3 days in advance. This will be the number charged for on the food bill. We are more than happy for you to decorate the rooms, but please no sellotape and only white tack on the walls (not on our wallpaper). We also ask for no coloured table confetti unless table cloths are used.
