“Using Web Apps for your Attendance and Event Management”

What is the difference between mobile native app and web app?
Native app is one that is installed directly onto the smart
phone and can work, in most cases, with no internet connectivity depending on the nature of the app.
Web app works with web browsers on the smart devices
or desktops that requires either a cell signal or Wi-Fi to function. It has the fortune of being used on
multi-platform and devices with less maintenance, as simple as maintaining a web page. Change or add features
often or as frequently as needed, and arguably cheaper to develop and maintain.

Other Mobile Web Apps we developed in-house
Viewpoint – mobile POS. A solution developed to support our
on and off-campus services like dining food carts and trucks, vendors, and merchants for processing campus card sales. It is a fully integrated mobile Web application point-of-service.
OZZI Initiative – a sustainable program for reusable container.
Integrated with our CBORD CS to manage and monitor process, the system (like a Red Box type) is designed to
minimize environmental waste by recycling and eliminating excess garbage. ID Card is required to check-out at the POS and check-in the container into the Ozzi machines.
UC Merced is the first campus west of the Mississippi to use
the new OZZI container-recycling system with a fully integrated campus card system. The program was well-received, and has been successful 2 ½ years to date.
Catcard Kiosk – hold your ID card to the card reader to display
current available Plan Balances and Ozzi virtual tokens and
transactions. The web app is presented on wall-mounted tablets protected by metal enclosure all over the campus.
myCatPerks – a Catcard Rewards program that is integrated with multiple applications (ICE, Gold, Dining’s Micros POS, Ozzi, Powersave, Housing StarRez, etc.). The app is accessible using any mobile smart device and desktop computer (PC, MAC, or any laptop).
myNutrition – an online mobile web app providing dining nutritional information by station at our
