Points for Parts
Did you know that you can directly impact Axalta’s color offering and accurate color matching? AND also earn real $?
The Axalta Points for Parts Program is designed to collect car parts (a small metal cut out of a
manufacturer’s color), analyze each color/car part, and create new formulas/variants to be able to offer the best color match. This lends for painters to complete their jobs more accurately and in less time.
How the program works:
1. Register on the Points for Parts site, https://axaltapoints.geigershops.com/ (anyone can register: Painter, distributor, shop)
2. Collect car parts and send to our lab in Front Royal, VA. Make sure to put Points for Parts account number on each car part.
3. Each month, points are tallied for car parts accepted and added to accounts.
4. Each quarter, points are tallied and for any account that has 200+ points, will automatically qualify for a Visa Gift card in that amount.
**Points can also be used to purchase items from our store on the Points for Parts site.
Criteria for an Acceptable Car Part
1. Model year must be 5 years old or newer 2. Effect color Only, unless a Most Wanted Color 3. No bumper parts
4. Car parts must be received in safe conditions (please tape all edges) 5. Preferred car part size is 6”x6”

a. Most Wanted color list is updated quarterly. The list can be found on ColorNet and the Points for Parts site.

Points for Parts
The Points for Parts program rewards customers and distributors who ship qualifying car parts to the Axalta Coating Systems color laboratory. Car parts help Axalta continuously improve color position and provide more accurate color match for the refinisher.
Each car part that meets all program requirements is eligible for Axalta Color Points that can be used to purchase Axalta merchandise in the Axalta Points for Parts Rewards Store and qualify to receive Visa®

CAR PART REQUIREMENTS
• Car parts must be received in safe conditions
o Car parts received in unsafe conditions (car parts protruding out of package) will be rejected and not shipped back to customer
o Car part shipments must weigh 30lbs. or less. For safety reasons, shipments weighing over 30 lbs. will be rejected and not shipped back to customer.
o Preferred car part size is 6" x 6"
Car parts smaller than 3” x 5” or larger than 12” x 12” will be rejected
No whole car parts
• Model year must be 5 years old or newer
• Effect colors only (metallic and pearl)
o No solid colors unless a Most Wanted Color (see current list)
• No bumper parts unless it represents a separate bumper color
• Points for Parts Program account number*/VIN/make/model/code must appear on the back of each car part
• If car part does not meet all requirements or is missing any required information, it will be rejected
Please note partial credit for lost packages will be issued ONLY if a tracking number is provided.

• Axalta will electronically issue Axalta Color Points that can be used to purchase Axalta merchandise on the Axalta Points for Parts Rewards Store: https://axaltapoints.geigershops.com/
• Visa® gift cards will be distributed on a quarterly basis to any account that has accrued 200 Axalta Color Points or more
• For Most Wanted Colors, earn 100 Axalta Color Points per accepted car part o Other accepted car parts earn 10 Axalta Color Points per car part
• Axalta Color Points are loaded to the customer account on the Rewards Store monthly
• Please register for an account on the Points for Parts program Rewards Store
• There is no limit to the amount you can earn

The top 3 participants with the most number of accepted car parts to the Points for Parts program in a calendar year wins 200 Axalta Color Points credit. Keep those car parts coming!

Update to Spectrophotometer Loaner Process
To help ensure that a loaner spectrophotometer unit (Acquire™ Quantum EFX, Acquire™ Plus EFX, Acquire™ Color Compact, or Acquire™ RX) is available for every customer who requires one during a repair period, effective October 1st, we are updating our loaner process.
For units still under warranty, there will continue to be no loaner fee for the use of the loaner unit.
For non-warranty units, the current $75 loaner fee will be increased to $150.
For all repairs (warranty and non-warranty), there will be a new 7-day return policy implemented. This new policy requires that the unit to be repaired is returned within 7 business days once the loaner unit is received and requires the return of the loaner unit within 7 business days once the customer receives the original repaired unit. If the units are not returned during this 7-business day period, an additional $75 fee will be charged per 7-business day period until received by the ColorNet® Support Team.
As part of this new policy, a credit card will need to be provided to initiate the use of the loaner unit for all repairs. This card will be used for any fees incurred as part of this new process.
To assist with meeting this new 7-business day return requirement, Axalta will now be providing FedEx® return labels for both warranty and non-warranty repairs. These return labels will be provided to use to send back the unit to be repaired once the loaner unit is received and to send back the loaner unit once the repaired unit is returned.

NEW! PREPPER TO PAINTER TRAINING COURSE
As part of our commitment to helping Refinish Customers find and retain talent, Axalta Refinish North America is pleased to introduce a new training option, the Prepper to Painter Development Course.
This immersive course, offered through online and in-person blended learning, focuses on skill development of surface preparation technicians to perform standard paint application tasks. Upon course completion, an existing shop prepper will be able to transition into a painting role to help busy collision centers get more cars through the booth each day.

ABOUT PREPPER TO PAINTER TRAINING COURSE
This course is designed to advance preppers who have been in the refinish business for two (2) years and have the aspiration and potential to become a painter.
Course Format:
• Three (3) 1.5-hour webinars (prework)
• Five (5) days in an Axalta Learning and Development Center Course Description:
This class aims to offer shops the ability to transition a prepper to a painter so the technician can complete a basic paint job on a vehicle.
The class consists of three (3) online sessions in preparation for the 5-day in-

person class, where most of the time will be spent in the shop practicing hands-on application and blending processes and techniques. In the classroom, students will also learn color retrieval and color theory basics.
Course Objectives:
• Gain a better understanding of the different processes, products, and techniques in the refinish process
• Gain basic knowledge of:
o Color theory o Axalta color tools o Paint mixing o Sealer application o Basecoat application o Basecoat blending Course Benefits:
• Excellent way to stimulate aspiring technicians to acquire the knowledge to become a painter
• Structured approach to teaching the basics of painting to a technician who demonstrates interest in this position
• Ability for the technician to handle smaller jobs to free up more experienced technicians
• Ability for the technician to fill in for a painter who’s away from the shop
Prerequisites:
• Completion of eLearning modules on products used at the shop
