DANIEL YANNUZZI

Partner, Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton, LLP

Daniel Yannuzzi is a partner and former co-chair of the Intellectual Property Practice Group at Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton. He has extensive experience advising high-technology companies and their stakeholders on complex, business-critical IP matters. Previously, Daniel was a partner and co-manager of the electrical patent practice group at a prestigious Washington D.C. firm. Prior to entering the legal profession, he was with Allied Signal Aerospace where he was an engineering manager involved with various NASA programs. Daniel has a J.D. from the University of Maryland [with honorsl. a M.S. from John Hopkins University and a B.S. from the University of Delaware.

CEO and President; East County Economic Development Council

As President and CEO of the East County Economic Development Council, Jo Marie Diamond oversees ECEDC's flagship project, the Connectory.com Network that she shepherded from concept formation through current U.S. expansion. Prior to joining the ECEDC, Jo Marie was principal with Business Change Catalysts IBC2). a technology assessment and systems analysis consulting firm. She also spent 10 years at B-K Dynamics, a DoD contractor specializing in technology and mission area assessments. Jo Marie received a BA in Biochemistry, with high honors, from the Catholic University of America, in Washington, DC.

Vice President Business Creation and Development, CONNECT

Ruprecht von Buttlar is the Vice President, Business Creation & Development at CONNECT. He directs the execution and development of the Springboard program and the Nearsourcing Roundtable program and serves on the executive boards of CCAT [Center for Commercialization of Advanced Technologies]. San Diego Advanced Defense Technology cluster and the Biomimicry BRIDGE. Prior to CONNECT, Ruprecht held global chief executive, general management and business development positions in the Internet and communications industries with companies including Motorola, DSC Communications [Alcatell. Nortel Networks, Scientific Atlanta and Aegis Broadband. Ruprecht has a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Hamburg and a MBA from Loyola College in Maryland.

Robert Dees is Director of Engineering at lchor Medical Systems. He holds a BSME from San Jose State University and has worked in the semiconductor, biotech and medical device markets making capital equipment and end user products since 1993.

His expertise is in the design and manufacturing of complex automated instrumentation and low cost disposables. He has held various positions over the years including Manufacturing Engineer at KLA instruments, Mechanical Engineer at KLA-Tencor, Sr. Engineer at Arcturus Biosciences, Senior Systems Engineer at Genoptix, Principal Systems Engineer at lnvitrogen and Sr. Engineering Manager at Life Technologies.

MICHAEL MONKO

Sr. Vice President Genetic Analysis, Sequenom, Inc.

Michael Manko joined Sequenom in 2006 and serves as Senior Vice President. Michael has 20 years of life science sales and marketing experience. He served as vice president of sales for Upstate/Chemicon with global sales and management responsibility for more than 100 sales, service and support employees. Previously, he served 19 years at lnvitrogen Corporation with a progressive and accomplished career in sales, beginning as a representative and culminating as senior director, sales force effectiveness.

Michael earned an MBA from Babson College and BS in biochemistry from University of New Hampshire.

DR. XING YANG

Vice President, BioNano Genomics

Dr. Xing Yang currently serves as Vice President, System Development at BioNano Genomics. In his more than a decade of experience in the biotechnology industry, he was involved in several successful startup companies. Dr. Yang was Vice President of Technology and a co-founder of Epic Sciences, a cancer diagnostics company focusing on capture and characterization of circulating tumor cells. He was also Vice President of Research at Helixis, a real-time PCR instrumentation company acquired by lllumina. Before that, he was Senior Director of Development at BO Diagnostics- GeneOhm. Dr. Yang received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology.
