Re-registration for the academic year 2020/2021- Announcement 2 Faculty of Engineering Technology

Dear Student,

Please read the following instructions carefully before you submit the Google Form. You are strongly advised to follow instructions as you are not allowed to resubmit the Google Form. Selecting the curriculum

- Interim curriculum (IC)

o For those who are able to complete the Degree/ Diploma within the next two academic years (2020/21 and 2021/2022).

- Revised curriculum (RC)

o Those who have first registered to the programme during the academic year 2019/2020,

o Those who are planning to complete the award in RC. How to select courses

- Interim curriculum – Refer the Re-registration Guide 2020/2021 for selecting courses and the prerequisites.

- Revised curriculum – Refer the Student Guidebook 2020/21 for the course list and also refer Re-registration Guide 2020/2021 for the prerequisites.

Amendments made for the prerequisites

- Since the results of the Phase 2 Stage B of the final examination are not available at the registration period, prerequisites of some courses have been changed in the

re-registration guide and these changes are applicable for the academic year 2020/2021 only.

Registration process • Selecting courses

- Students should fill the Google form which is in the Faculty webpage.

- You are allowed to submit the Google Form only once. If you want to resubmit it, please contact through the email given in Table 1 below. But in this event you experience delays. If you have any difficulty in downloading Google form, you may contact through the numbers given in Table 1.

- Check the student progress from MyOUSL to check whether the pre-requisites are satisfied for the courses that you intend to offer in the coming academic year. Keep in mind you have to re-register for the course you fail to get the eligibility (repeat) and the courses of which you lapse the eligibility/OCAM. (If in any case you lapse the

eligibility/OCAM of the final examination Phase 2 Stage B courses, you have to re-register for those courses during the Add/Drop period, which will be announced later)

- When selecting courses, check if there are any compulsory courses to left to be followed in your specialisation. Compulsory course lists are different for the Revised curriculum and the Interim curriculum. Therefore, go through the Student Guidebook for the revised curriculum and the Re-Registration Guide for the Interim Curriculum.

- Follow the tables of the credit requirements for the relevant curriculum given in the Re-Registration Guide. Select courses based on the credits requirements (category wise minimum and maximum credit requirements, level wise credit requirements, Industrial Training requirements, etc.)

- You can offer a maximum of 38 credits per year. When you select the number of credits/courses, please be mindful about your time availability for studies per day on average. However, our advice is not to take the maximum allowed credits if you are an employed student.

- When you select courses, you have to select the alternative course from the given list as given below.

• Payments Course Fee

- The link for accessing the paying voucher is reginfo.ou.ac.lk

- First installment of the payment voucher has been prepared assuming that the students are registering for 30 credits. If there is any shortfall that amount will have to be paid at the second installment.

- If you want to get any clarification of the payments and/or if you want to adjust the amount to be paid, you may contact through the email given in Table 3.

- Your requested courses are offered by the counsellors relevant to the specialisation. - If any issues regarding the requested courses, you will be contacted using the contact

details provided in the Google form. Therefore, when you fill the Google form please give provide contact details, which can be easily and directly accessible by the

counsellors.

- If you cannot be contacted through a phone call, you will be contacted through email. Therefore, please check emails regularly during the registration period, 30th January to

06th February 2021.

- If you fail to respond to either phone call or the email, counsellors will offer only the possible courses, and you can offer other courses during the Add/Drop period. - If there is no issue with the requested courses, you will not be contacted.

• Registration confirmation

- The registration will be confirmed by the Students Affairs Division after verifying your payment slip.

- If there are any issues with the payments, registration cannot be completed. - Once you are registered successfully, you can see the update in MyOUSL.

- You must get your Student Record Book updated from the Student Affairs Division, once you are permitted to enter the university.

• Applying for Exemptions

- If you want to claim exemptions for courses for any other additional qualifications, you have to email a copy of the certificates to the Email addresses given in Table 4. However, the exemptions can be offered during the Add/Drop period only.

• Last date for uploading the Google form is 29th January 2021.
