MOVE MOBILITY

• Founded in 2012

• Focus:

• Front office in business development for

our partners in international markets

• Europe (Germany, UK, Georgie)

• Outside Europe (US, Uganda, South

Africa, Mexico, Kenia)

• Software development and applications

• MOVE Meter

• Monitoring tool

• Our ambition is to support cities in their

transition towards a Smart Moving City

The MOVE Meter facilitates planning processes

pagina 7 Network development and design with the MOVE Meter

It is a web based tool that:

- let you play with different scenarios

- is easy to use by all planners

- presents results quickly (< 10 minutes per scenario)

In the case of Austin and Houston the tool was used to:

- show the bicycle potential

- demonstrate the impact of cycling on congestion

The MOVE Meter results are based on your traffic data.

For Houston actual speed data (on and off peak) was

used.

…”Austin officials gave the firm (MOVE Mobility)

transportation planning data from its Metropolitan

Planning Organization (MPO), and they now have a

tool by which to analyze how bicycle infrastructure

can affect the transportation system as a whole. The

introduction to the tool allowed us to see one way

and one tool Dutch cities use to make transportation

decisions related to bicycles."

Difference with other transport modeling tools

// 6-Nov-15 //

pagina 39 Network development and design with the MOVE Meter

• Web based (you can use any PC/laptop anywhere);

• Easy to use (no need to know Transport Planning

Software);

• Quick scenario analyses;

• Based on data from your own Transportation Model;

• Scenario analyses ready after 10-15 minutes.

(37)

Why is the MOVE meter so fast?

1.

The MOVE Meter works with less

zones. It aggregates data from zones

that are further away from the area

you have pointed out as focus area.

2.

The MOVE meter focuses on the

issues addressed. So when you want

to assign an OD-matrix to get an idea

of the effects on V/C ratios, the MOVE

Meter assigns the OD matrix without

calculating new speeds or changes in

modal split.

Zones in the original model

The MOVE meter aggregates

data outside the focus area.
