GEN-17 SUMMER CAMP-1 CIVRIL-DENIZLI 29.06 - 15.07 SOCI - EDU 15 VOLS Civril town hosted the first international work camp last year. The impact was very positive thus the municipality is going to host 2 different groups this year for a summer camp project. If you are a talkative, friendly, smiling person you are welcome to practise English with the local kids and youngsters. The summer camp will contain different sport sessions and practising English will be an additional part of the program. Although volunteers mainly will focus on practising English, any additional talent will be appreciated. Volunteers who can play an instrument, organize a drama, teach indoor - outdoor games, will be preferred. Volunteers are also expected to make a presentation of their country and culture. But the most important feature is speaking English. This camp offers a high level close contact with the locals. Anyone who has time, can stay longer and join in the following camp GEN-26 between 20.07 - 03.08. The accommodation and food will be served free of charge between 15-20 July, if you join in both camps.

volunteers of your previous work camp, just alert them. Or if you are an individual or a couple, but prefer to be in a smaller group. GENÇTUR can host up to 5
individuals or 5 people from the same country for the same period. The host, Math Village needs small group of volunteers for different daily tasks during the spring and summer. This camp will give you a chance to meet a lot of Turkish young people (if there is a course during the dates you apply for) who will be
participating in mathematic courses in the center. But please also be aware that if you apply as an individual, for a certain period, you might be the only volunteer in these date span if by bad luck there is no other application for the same dates. W: Construction, reconstruction, renovation, landscaping, gardening, class cleaning and kitchen works at a non-formal education center.

LO: Sirince is a small village in the west of Turkey. Please be aware that the center is a bit isolated. No night life, TV or disco is available at the center, but there is internet connection. The next village Sirince, which is only 15 minutes by foot, is very attractive and famous for its homemade wines and traditional
architecture. The nearest town Selcuk, which is the home of world famous Ephessus open-air museum http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mUqg1yBFTo . The nearest city Izmir, is one hour away by coach.
T: Volunteers of this camp can fly directly to Izmir and then take a train to Selcuk. If a group of 5 people applies together and wish to fly to Istanbul first, GENCTUR can arrange their return coach travel between Istanbul - Izmir, at their own cost. Extra Fee: Individuals can apply free of charge. 3 and more applications from the same country is subject to a charge of 100 Euro per person. This cost is shared with the host to buy working materials.

GEN-20 RAMADAN IN THE TOWN DURSUNBEY 01.07 / 16.07 RENO 20 VOLS
This camp is a unique opportunity to get to know the traditional way of life of Turkish people in the rural areas. The camp will take place in traditional Dursunbey town with 17.000 inhabitants.
As this camp will take place during the sacred Ramadan month of Arabic calendar, the volunteers will have a chance to observe how local people live in Ramadan. The volunteers will have the change to have dinners with local families who are keeping fasts during the Ramadan or join in public dinners called "iftar" which means end of daily fasting.
W: Reorganizing the public picnic area of the town. Leveling the ground, paving stones on the roads, creating green areas, setting up tables and sitting groups, etc.
A: In a guest house, sleeping bag and mat are not necessary.
F: Volunteers will prepare the breakfast by themselves with the given food. Lunch will be served as packs at the working area. Dinners will be offered either by families or eaten with crowds.

LO: Dursunbey is a medium size town in the west of Turkey. The nearest city is Balikesir.
R: Volunteers should be aware that thay will be in a religious environment thus must respect the rules of Ramadan like not eating, drinking or smoking in public during the day. Clothing is also a serious issue, no short trousers, mini skirts, will be allowed. This is really a nice project for the people who likes to learn about other cultures.

GEN-22 HELP THEM TO SPEAK-1 IZMIR 02.07 - 12.07 TEACH 5 VOLS SEKADER is a local NGO aiming to socialize disabled people of the area through water sports. They hired a camping site where they teach swimming, kanoing and diving to disabled people. To raise a fund for covering the costs of the camping site they run a camp to practise English. Good English speakers are invited to spend 10 days with a group of international teenagers who wish to improve their English in such a camp.
W: Practicing English through daily activities, games and manual work. Organizing and running daily activities with local and international youngsters to practice English.
R: Volunteers must be minimum 20 years old and agree to share responsibilities together with the group leader. Practicing English is the main aim of this camp. Thus creative volunteers with some experience on teaching, outdoor or table games, music, drama, sport will be preferred. Mardin Youth and Culture Association is going to organize a Circus & Street Arts Festival and they need volunteers to prepare, run and perform in it. The festival groups are going to visit near by towns and the refugee camps to meet children and youth living there. Anybody is welcome but people with skills on circus or street arts like juggling, clowning, stick walking, tightrope dancing-walking, fire blowing, capoera , mime, graffiti, acrobacy, illusion, etc., are especially welcome. W: Helping to the organisation commitee to prepare the festival, setting up

GEN-37 GIVE A HAND KAS / ANTALYA 03.08 / 17.08 RENO/AGRI 15 VOLS Alternative Life Association (www.ayder.org.tr) which aims and works for the social integration of people with disabilities has recently built a multi purpose venue in a village near by Kas - Antalya in the south-west of Turkey. In this venue people with disabilities who has been excluded from mainstream educational opportunities will have the chance to have education in various fields. Volunteers who are willing to work with and for disabled people are welcome.
W: Allthough we do not request a nonstop working effort, volunteers are supposed to dedicate their time end energy when needed. Your help is requested all day long, of course with breaks.
You can help us for the over all running of the site in different field works.
Volunteers who can undertake more than just one task will be preferred. The work fields are as follows.
1) Kitchen : Food preperation / cooking / table setting / food serving / dish washing.
2) Field: General cleaning of all units / fixing buildings, boats, bikes, instruments / gardening both in main facility and in eco farm / animal care ( mainly horses), farming, harvesting, landscaping.
3) Training as artist or assistant or just helper : Art workshops (painting, dance, rhythm, instrument, dj, drama, photography, sculpture, ceramic, hangicraft) / courses ( PC, foreign languages, personal development, sign language) / reading & library management / sport ( swimming, scuba diving, sailing, rowing, canoeing, trekking, outdoor sports, volleyball, badminton, biking, bocce , climbing, archery) / boat skipping / various outdoor trainings / yoga and pilates.
4) Organization : Entertainment and event organizations / indoor - outdoor

GEN-38 CHILDHOOD DREAMS YENISAKRAN IZMIR 04.08/17.08 SOCI-KIDS 2 VOLS
My Dreams Are Becoming True is a special 2 weeks project of GENCTUR, designed for two different disadvantaged children from orphanages aged 8-14. This camp is sponsored by external funds as well as the funds raised by GENCTUR through extra fees of the thematic camps. All accommodation and food expenses of the disadvantaged children are covered by funds. The Project will be realized in Afacan Youth House (www.afacan.de).
We are looking for communicative, talkative volunteers who are at least 20 years old with some abilities on teaching basic English, any sports like basketball, volleyball, swimming, football, table tennis, etc., chess, arts & crafts, music, dance, drama, in & outdoor group games. Applicants will be interviewed by the camp managers via Skype. Thus, a motivation letter including the Skype ID should be send along with the application form.
You will share the responsibilities of the leading team to take care a group of kids from the beginning till the end of the camp; including the trips outside of the camp as well as all kind of activities during the camp.
Please note that you will be dealing with the kids through the given & intensive program all day long. You will spend most of your time with the kids in the camp area with a limited private life. Thus contact with the locals is very limited; however, you will have contact with the working people in the campsite.
Volunteers may have fun together only after the kids go to the bed and the team cover the late, daily staff meeting in the camp. Leaving the camp area is not allowed due to unexpected emergency cases. Teamwork is very essential for this camp. Thus any volunteer who disagrees with the camp rules and team spirit are asked to leave. Smoking & drinking alcohol is not allowed during the camp at the campsite in front of the kids. Please be aware of the rules before applying. The results of the applications will be announced in the beginning of May 2015. W: Counselling a group of children aged between 8-14 years old, leading several activities for them.

GEN-39 WORK AND WRITE CATALCA ISTANBUL 05.08 / 20.08 RENO 15 VOLS Aziz Nesin, a famous Turkish satirist author, will be commemotared in 2015 for his 100th birthday. Among many other activities, GENÇTUR will contribute to the commemoration with this camp. Nesin Foundation is a long term partner of
GENÇTUR and hosted many workcamps in the past. The foundation offers a shelter for kids from poor families. Kids are taken care of by the foundation until they stand on their own feet. The buildings and the garden of the premises need to be renovated. They also have a farm with some cattles and a vegetable field. Apart from the daily work schedule, the volunteers will be able to participate "writing atelier" which will be led by a Turkish author who will lead the camp. Thus if you are interested in "writing" you are specially welcome. Please send a motivation letter with the application about your interest or talent about writing.
W: The volunteers will be doing manual work according to the daily needs.
Renovation and gardening works. Some days there might be work on the field like hoeing the soil, picking vegetables, etc. or some work in the kitchen like preparing the food, washing the dishes. Writing activities will be held out of the working hours.

This is a special camp for people who likes to ride a bike. Edirne Nature Sports Club Association is a very active local organization who aims to create an
awareness about pollution and clean environment through its activities. Trekking, cycling, kanoing, orienteering, rock and mountain climbing, skiing are some of their activities. They wish to host international volunteers to be a part of their summer activities.
W: Volunteers will collect plastic garbage and waste materials, in order to creat an awareness. Every second day there will be a ride to nearby villages. The longest round trip will be around 50 km. Bikes will be supplied by the association. Cyclists are very welcome as well as 2 other volunteers to work in the office to set up a social media information.
R: Volunteers must be able to ride a bike, for a return distance of 50 km. in a day. A: In a house in Edirne city center. Sleeping bag and mat are necessary.

With contributions of sister NGOs as well as our own financial and staff sources, we organise informal and non formal education for socialy and economically disadvantaged youth for empovering them. GENCTUR tries to give the equal opportunities to low income youth to participate for learning by doing.
15 university students from different cities of Turkey will have a chance to
experience inter cultural learning & different activities during this camp. Including 2 GENCTUR leaders, the majority of the group will be Turkish. Except the leaders, the group members might not able to speak any foreign languages.
GENCTUR is looking for 5 volunteers / counsellors who are able to organize, run and lead activities for the participants in different areas like practicing English, sport, drama, music,chess, indoor-outdoor games, handicraft, dance, etc.
Volunteers must be at least 22 years old with experience of the above-mentioned activities or group leading. Non formal education experience is preferred.
As the level of English of the camp participants will be very low, the volunteers / counsellors should be talkative, encouraging, communicative, patient, talented and ready to teach.

Work: Summer 2014 a big flood disaster affected Tekirdag district. All the municipalities in the district have been working on recovery of the green areas beside flood relief projects. Volunteers will work in public parks and they will be planting roses, gardening and cleaning vegetation in parks.

Work: With the help of the international workcamps that we have been organizing together with Mut Municipality, the Castle of Mut turned into a cultural centre for local young people. Each year, international groups took care of one part of the renovation work and last year it was the end of the renovation work. This year, the volunteers will take part in landscaping of the cultural centre created by the previous international groups. They will be responsible of weeding, flowering and planting.

Mut is a member of Association of Historic Towns in Turkey touristic places like Dagpazarı Church, Alahan Monastery, Karaseki and Aloada Cave in Mut. Location and leisure: Egirdir is one of the most beautiful districts in Turkey. It is 34 km far away from Isparta. The town has the perfect combination of nature and colors and it located near of the amazing Egirdir Lake. Egirdir has lots of historical choices for its visitors like in the rest of Turkey. The municipality will give you the chance to explore some of these ancient places. The Aksu Dungeon Cave and the Canyon of Candır are only a couple of examples for you. It will be the exact volunteering project for which you will remember always.

Inkum beach attracts many local and foreign tourists each year, what we want to do together with the municipality is to raise awareness of both locals and foreigners to have clean holidays, to be able to enjoy the golden sand each and every year. Work: Tuzlukcu Municipality is going to apply to receive ¿Citta Slow¿ label; therefore it is important for them to make necessary preparations in terms of transportation, sustainable living and local development. This year, the municipality will be focusing on environment and promotion of cycling for transportation. During the camp, the volunteers will be working in practical environmental work such as landscaping, planting trees, etc. In addition to the environmental work, the volunteers will take part in constructing the bike roads. Work: Since 2004, Hacettepe University is running excavations in Tepecik Village of Cine. The findings show that the site belongs to late chalcolithic era and
Mycenaean culture. The volunteers will be working together with the archeologists in the excavation area. The work will be hard and demanding under the sun. The volunteers will be responsible of documentation and archiving the findings. Accommodation and Food: Guest House / cafeteria
Location and Leisure: Cine is situated on Aegean part of Turkey and a beautiful district, possessing picturesque views of nature. The town has been famous for its cultural and historic heritage which is known of the Maryssa legend in Greek mythology. This beautiful town is known for its cuisine as well. Meatball is one of the most delicious foods in Cine and its recipe is an ultimate secret. The town hosts Alabanda-Tepecik Village, one of the most important excavation area belongs to Mycenaean Culture.

Work: Afyonkarahisar Municipality, one of our oldest partners, has been hosting international voluntary workcamps in order to promote intercultural dialogue and volunteering. During the camp the volunteers will set up wooden tables and benches for the inhabitants of the city to be used in natural park, located outskirt of the city.

Location and leisure: The city of Afyonkarahisar is located as gateway between the see and the inner regions of Anatolia. The history of the city goes back to 4000BC. The top of the rock in Afyon has been fortified for a long, long time. It was known to the Hittities as Hapanuwa and was later occupied bu Phrygians, Lydian and Persians until it was conquered by Alexander the Great. It is a spa-center with thermal baths and it is famous for specific ¿Turkish delight¿. There are also some fairy chimneys and thermal foundations which attract many tourists every year as well as the Mevlevihane (a lodge by Mevlevi dervishes) became a museum

renovation of the public parks in Milas. This year, the volunteers will take part in environmental work such as landscaping and do some practical renovation work in the public parks such as painting the benches, renovating the playground.

Location and leisure: Milas, one of our oldest and most experienced partner, is a touristic coastal town in Mugla, where the mountains meet the sea and
Mediterranean cost meets Aegean cost. The town is quite rich in terms of history. There¿re many ancient cities and historic places, some belonging to thousands of years ago. That is probably the reason why Milas is also a member of ¿Association of Historic Towns in Turkey¿.

Work: Similar to previous years program with Yenisehir Municipality, volunteers will be asked to do some environmental and renovation work; such as cleaning, painting, repairing and sustaining of public areas.
Accommodation and food: Cafeteria / Dormitory.
Location and leisure: Mersin is 20 km inland from Mediterranean Sea. It has hosted various nations throughout the history. The city welcomes the volunteers with its beautiful nature, historical monuments, ruins from antique and middle ages and modern structures of a developing city. Cleopatra´s Gate, church of St. Paul, architectural works from Ottoman periods and early Republic of Turkey are some of the most remarkable features of the city. Local cuisine includes sandwich with grilled meats wrapped in flat bread named tantuni, a dessert made by carrot called ¿cezerye¿ and a sour drink named salgam.
