2020-21: Agriculture and local value chains. How does new forms of land tenure and business models in agriculture contribute to rural development? Pilot

research project financed by the Rural District Fund under the Danish Business Authority. (Project start May 2020).

2020-21: Bæredygtigt Turismeregnskab som værktøj til udvikling af lokalmiljø. Forskningsprojekt finansieret af Landdistriktspuljen under Erhvervsstyrelsen. CRT i samarbejde med Nordregio og Syddansk Universitet, i tæt samspil med

turismeorganisationer.

2018-20: Rural tourism in the Norden. Participation in Nordregio project on the thematic foci and economic dynamic effects of rural tourism in the Nordic countries.

2016-22: AIDA: “Agricultural Investors as Development Actors?”. Six-year research programme analysing international investments in agriculture and their local impacts with regards to land tenure security, water access security, employment and other dynamic effects in Uganda and Tanzania. Funded by the Consultative Research Committee for Development Research under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. Lead Partner: Danish Institute for International Studies. 2019-20 Municipal efforts to ensure development in dialogue with rural populations. (“Kommunernes indsats for at sikre udvikling i dialog med

befolkningen i landsbyer og det åbne land”). Pilot research project financed by the Rural District Fund under the Danish Business Authority.

2017-19 InnoCoast: Innovation in Danish coastal tourism. Focus on co-creation of compatible experiences, delivering research-based input, which will contribute to local enterprises experience-innovation within nature and outdoor tourism. Lead partner: Aalborg University. Financed by the Innovation Fund Denmark. 2017-19 CIRTO-INNO: Circular economy tools to support innovation in tourism SMEs.

INTERREG South Baltic project. Lead partner Pomeranian Development Agency.

2017-18 New voices in rural community development. Analysis of translocal relations and networks activated through people who do not live full-time on four Nordic rural islands, but who – nevertheless - choose to engage

themselves, their resources and their networks in the development of local places and projects. Analysis includes elements of place-specific resources, mobility, multi-local engagements and belonging, network, place branding and planning. Pilot research project financed by the Rural District Fund under the Danish Business Authority.

2018 World Craft Region titel som aktiv for Bornholms kunsthåndværk og turisme: Hvordan kan øen få gavn af den nye titel? Mapping of needs and potentials in Arts & Crafts Association Bornholm member-enterprises in relation to future use of the WCR title. Including mapping of existing marketing and branding channels and collaboration possibilities for craft enterprises, tourism enterprises including Destination Bornholm, and cultural institutions associated with arts and craft on Bornholm. Identification of ways to strengthen the visibility of the makers on Bornholm vis-à-vis the tourism sector. Financed by Bornholms Brand tourism fund. Lead partner: CRT in collaboration with Destination Bornholm and Arts & Crafts Association Bornholm.

Completed projects outside CRT:

2012-2016 Property and Citizens in Developing Societies (ProCit). Sub-project: Rural Environmental Enclosures. Analysis of land rights and access to agro-forestry areas in Northeast Laos in a REDD+ context (Reduction of Emissions

through avoided Deforestation and forest Degradation), in collaboration with among others Faculty of Forestry, National University of Laos, and other ProCit research partners, including CDE, Bern, and UEA Norwich. Lead partner: IFRO, Copenhagen University.

2015 Helhedsplan – Folkemøde og Allinge. Parallel-assignment for Realdania and the Bornholm Regional Municipality regarding proposals for solution of development of Allinge and Northern Bornholm in a way that provide even better frames for Folkemødet (national political festival) as well as turning it into more of a development motor for Northern Bornholm and Bornholm in general. Advisor in Team SLA in close collaboration with among others Roskilde Festival Organization.

2014-2015 Borgere og dialog som løftestang: Citizens and dialogue as change-maker. Focus on the development potential among entrepreneurs and immigrants on Bornholm. Organization of crowd-funding workshop. Dissemination of

alternative meeting-facilities. Support to project formulation and fundraising activites for CSOs. Client: Bornholm Regional Municipality.

2013-2014 Lokale ressourcer i spil. Local resources in use. Pilot project in collaboration with Bornholm Regional Municipality, LAG-Bornholm and Bornholm

Community Organizations umbrella organization, regarding the use of an appreciative inquiry approach to the work with involvement of citizens in local area development. Group process in the communities of Klemensker and Nexø involving workshops, presentations, sparring, evaluation. Financed by the Rural District Fund for experimental development projects.

2009-2011 “Mulighedernes land”, “Land of possibilities”, participating in Bornholm’s team in the partner project with Realdania and three rural municipalities. Focus on the strengthening of the use of the place-bound resources; civic involvement and innovation; project formulation, fundraising and evaluation.
