1. Visit http://chamblycounty.com
Under Alumni in the menu, click Member Login
2. Chambly County Alumni Association › Log In
You are now on the login page. To reset your password, click Lost your password? beneath the login form.
3. Chambly County Alumni Association › Lost Password
Enter either your username or your email address in the space provided and click Get New Password.
Note:If you don't know your username yet, use your email address.
Further Note:If you enter an email address other than the one we have associated with your account, the form will shake and you will get a message saying, "ERROR: There is no user registered with that email address." If you have more than one email address, try the other one. If you can't get this to work, contact me at john.charlton@gmail.com to ask for the correct address or to tell us which address we should be using.
4. Chambly County Alumni Association › Log In
After clicking Get New Password, you will be taken back to the login page and a message will appear saying,"Check your email for the confirmation link."This email should arrive in your inbox within a few minutes.
5. Sample Email with Password Reset Link
This is a sample of what the email looks like that will be sent to you when you clickGet New Password in Step 3 above. The email comes from WordPress and the actual email address it comes from iswordpress@chamblycounty.com. TheTo: fieldin this email will contain your username. If you don't see the email within a few minutes of asking for it, you might want to check your email's SPAM box.
Once you get the email, click on the long link at the bottom of the email.
Note:If you ever get one of these and haven't asked for it, just ignore it. Someone may have entered your email address or username by mistake, but nothing happens unless you click that link.
Further Note:As far as I am aware, this link will cease to work after 12 hours.
6. Chambly County Alumni Association › Reset Password
After clicking the email link in Step 5 above, you will be taken to the Password Reset page as shown here.
This is where most people seem to be running into trouble. Let's take a second to look at the form. When the page first opens, a radomly generated STRONG Password will be prefilled and you are welcome to use this as your new password. If you do, make sure you copy it from here and paste it in a place where you can retrieve it again later. Your going to need it to login in a moment.
If you are like many people, you will want to use a password that is easy to remember than this random jumble of charachters. No problem.
Just click inside the box and start typing a password. I'll show you me entering a password in the next couple of screens.
7. Chambly County Alumni Association › Reset Password
Instead of the gobbledy gook of a regualr password, I am going to use a password that makes sense to me, is easy to remember and is easy to type. Because I am a Thin Lizzy fan, I intend to use the password,The boys are back in town.This is called a pass phrase and it's a simple way to make a strong password. As I begin to type in my password, the site will give me feedback as to how strong it is. Passwords must register as Strong to be acceptable.
In this screen shot, I have started typing my phrase, however the wordTheis a very weak password.

I haven't finished typing yet and I am already showing a strong pasword. I can tell from this that The boys are backis already a Strong password, but it doesn't mean much to me, so I will continue with my original pass phrase. If I can fit a number or some punctuation into this sentence it will make it even stronger. Stronger is good, so I will finish setting the password in the next screen shot.
10. Chambly County Alumni Association › Reset Password
So here is my completed password (pass phrase)The boys are back in town.ready to go.
Why is it strong? Because it has a mixture of upper and lowercase characters and special characters like spaces and a period.
All I have to do now is clickReset Passwordto use it.
11. Chambly County Alumni Association › Password Reset
After clicking Reset Password above, I will be shown a confirmation that my password has been reset.
To complete the process, all I need to do is log in by clicking theLog inlink.
12. Chambly County Alumni Association › Log In
OK. So here we are back on the login page.
1. Enter your Username(Not your email address) - If you aren't sure what your username is, go back to the password reset email that was sent to you in Step 5. Your username will be the name in the To: field.
2. Enter your password. In my case I enteredThe boys are back in town.
3. Optional- Place a check beside Remember me to have your browser remember your
information for the next time you visit. Don't do this if you are on a public computer such as at a library.
4. Click Login- You will be taken to a special User Profile page where you can update your email address or change your password again.
13. How to Log Out
If you are at home on your own computer, you probably don't need to log out, but if you have accessed the site from a public computer like at a library, you should definitely log out before you leave. On the top right of the website, you will see your name. Hover over that to show and click on theLog Outlink.
