MESSAGE

TO THE

(5)

3

When we first started out back in 2000, we considered our mission was “to develop leaders to be the best they can be”. Fourteen years later, when we reflect on the 1,750 senior people who have attended our programmes in New Zealand and Australia, we sense that we have satisfactorily achieved that mission. By way of example, the following unsolicited message was recently received a year after this particular chief executive completed the Strategic Leadership Programme at Millbrook:

“It’s been a long time coming, but I want to say “thanks”. I can’t explain to

you in words exactly how much I have benefitted from the SLP experience.

Goose bumps still come across me when I think about the week at Millbrook.

The little nuggets of wisdom and insight that you shared with us, still to this day, give me

those ‘penny drop’ moments. I still reflect on each day of the Millbrook experience and

how I learnt a considerable amount about myself. Since then, I have continued to dig deep,

to understand me so I can be authentic. Something I didn’t understand pre May 2013...

I know I was truly blessed with the experience I had, made all the more better for the

guidance and inquiring that the ISL faculty team provided.

So now, I am gearing towards stepping up my organization, then I will

make the change I need to keep growing.”

Feedback along these lines has enabled us to grow over the years through word-of-mouth, in New Zealand, Australia and further abroad. Notwithstanding these encouraging testimonials, the world has changed considerably over the last fourteen years, especially post-2007 (and the prolonged GFC). Directors and their CEOs now have much higher expectations and ask for evidence of a demonstrable link between ‘spend on executive development’, and measurable outcomes representing ‘return-on-leadership-development-investment’. It follows that our mission at the Institute for Strategic Leadership has stepped up from supporting leaders to ‘be the best they can be’ to ‘making a significant impact on organisation-wide performance’. With a class of

twenty leaders, our goal is to achieve an exponential impact representing ‘twenty to the power of twenty’ (20^20). We are not leadership gurus or theorists (although we stay at the forefront of the academic research

literature); nor are we consultants. ISL’s unique domain is positioned at the intersection of pragmatic and commercially relevant axis in order to build business savvy leaders who think and act strategically and who drive change in an effective and sustainable manner. Using a top-down approach (starting with the CEO) we develop role models at the senior and middle management levels (during their participation on our residential leadership and ISL | MBA programmes) and support them with ongoing coaching, leadership tools and apps, and team dynamic profiling and team building workshops. Our approach is to provide outcomes-focused leadership development using evidence-based paradigms.

This ISL Portfolio sets out the programmes and supporting services that we offer for CEOs, EGMs, GMs and Team Leaders levels enabling organisations to put together a learning and development plan either independently or in partnership with our Institute. Please give us a call to discuss how we can work with you to co-create a tailored solution for your organisation that starts at the top, and cascades down. We will explain to you how our processes build strategic leaders who create high performing teams that engage staff who drive customer engagement and enterprise value.

OUR

LEADERSHIP

DEVELOPMENT

PHILOSOPHY

“If one man can change a

nation, just imagine how

six-to-eight emotionally

intelligent role-model leaders

can create a performance

and values-based culture.”

Geoff Lorigan

(7)

5 MOST CHIEF EXECUTIVES have already twigged that in a world of knowledge workers and global

transparency, companies only have one form of competitive advantage left – leadership.

The big questions are: how best to develop our leaders? How do we step-up our John Waynes (competent performers) to Nelson Mandelas (engaging leaders)? Should we design and deliver our own internal leadership courses or should we outsource? How can we use leadership development to create a performance and values-based culture? If we outsource, should we send our executives to one particular provider or a provider of their choice? How can we be sure that external courses are not just ‘sheep dips’ that rub off in no time at all? And how many hours per year of continuing executive development are required for senior executives to stay on top of their game?

CEOs, Senior Leaders, and Team Leaders

Top-level executives, should attend at least a weeklong senior leadership programme to undergo a step up change and benchmark themselves against other senior leaders at least once in every 5-to-7 years. Following on from these weeklong ‘interventions’, it is important that they attend a 2-day workshop each year to update, up skill, refresh and reflect. This aligns with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements for accountants (a minimum of 2-hours per year and a total of 120 hours in each three-year period).

Leadership Development

ISL offers a weeklong residential Strategic Leadership Programme for senior leaders and CEOs, and a weeklong residential Leadership Programme for high potential team leaders. These programmes attract participants from the commercial, government and not-for-profit sectors in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, and at times from further afield.

Two-day ISL workshops provide graduates of the above programmes with 16 hours of Continuing Executive Development (CED) per year. Their role is to provide a safe place for senior executives to share and learn from each other, and to access new developments and insights from the Institute’s faculty. These 2-day workshops include:

• ISL | CHAIR LEADERS CLASS • ISL | CE CLASS

• ISL | HR CLASS

• ISL | STRATEGY, CHANGE & TRANSFORMATION MASTERCLASS

Business Savvy Enhancement

ISL delivers a three week residential ISL | MBA Programme for senior executives from the commercial, government and not-for-profit sectors in New Zealand and Australia. The programme involves three weeklong modules covering the key business concepts and skills associated with:

• Strategy, System Thinking & Change • Accounting & Finance

• Marketing & People Matters

A number of our CEO clients who completed traditional MBAs stated that: “we don’t use 70% of the material we covered, and the 30% we do use, we didn’t go deep enough”. The ISL | MBA provides a development process that takes senior executives into the depths of commercially relevant aspects of the 30% must-know topics. The programme involves an experiential learning approach and prepares senior executives to handle robust cross examination by boards of directors.

(8)

Key features of the ISL programmes:

Gap identification – each participant is supported by two coaches throughout the week (an executive leadership coach and a lifestyle coach) who identifies the gaps and sets in motion a process for further developing the required skills, attitude and behaviours

Re-balancing – senior executives have typically built significant strengths over the years. Most often problems arise more as a consequence of ‘over playing their strengths’ than due to their ‘weaknesses’ • Participants – a diversity of background and sector creates an optimum learning enviromnment,

enabling senior executives to see themselves through the lens of others

Anonymity – there is no disclosure of role, organization or qualifications until he last day of the programme. This provides a ‘level learning ground’ and prevents executives being stereotyped by other participants and by faculty • Reflective – our campuses at Millbrook, Nugget Point, O’Reilly’s and QSTATION are very reflective and

provide the setting and context for deep introspection

Experiential – participants learn by doing and by observing others, ultimately gaining a view of themselves through the lens of other senior leaders (who are independent and have ‘no axe to grind’)

Proven track record – our programmes have been operating for 14 years and we have over 1.750 graduates, including a list of ‘notables’ listed in Wikipedia

Mid and Lower Level Managers

In-house leadership training is undoubtedly the lowest cost option for mid and lower level mangers. Your internal Learning & Development staff can design the workshops and use contractors to deliver. These workshops are useful to impart knowledge around personality profiling, ‘characteristics of effective leadership and resilience’. ISL can support your L&D staff to design and deliver these workshops.

Organisations flourish from the head down

The chief executive is the leadership role model for all other leaders in the organisation. S/he is watched closely everyday like a gold fish in a bowl - every move is magnified. It’s not what leaders say but what they do and how they do it. Chief executives embody the culture, live the values, monitor the attitudes and behaviours, set the energy levels and articulate the vision and goals. They are either battery chargers or energy vampires. They are creators or cost cutters. They are lifted on the shoulders of their followers, or they get so far out in front of their followers that they are perceived as the enemy.

It follows that investment in the chief executive’s leadership development is the number one priority; then the EGMs and GMs; then the high potentials - in that order. Leadership development should cascade down from the top.

When it comes to building self awareness, leadership of self, interpersonal leadership, and understanding the group dynamics of followers, a safe learning place is required where anonymity is assured and reputations are not put at risk. Learning about yourself and reviewing your leadership style in the company of other top leaders from other sectors (private and public) provides an unique opportunity to benchmark and develop valuable networks. And using the same provider and processes creates a shared experience and common vocabulary which builds confidence and encourages high-trust learning conversations among the executive team and level 3 & 4 leaders. Once leaders have gained a view of themselves through the lens of independent peers - then is the time to undertake ongoing executive coaching, and to connect the dots and create a high performing leadership team. This will involve in-house facilitation of vision, values, culture, and team-building workshops.

In our view, To Transform Your Organisation, First You Must Transform Your Leaders, and this requires a top-down systematic and integrated approach using safe learning places and advanced executive development processes. There is no short cut or low cost way of building a world class leadership team; and given that leadership creates competitive advantage in all key performance metrics (including ROI, engagement and retention scores), it is wise to invest in best practice top down leadership development.

And remember - low cost leadership development solutions are akin to low cost jet engines; cheaper on the short run but potentially fatal when environmental conditions are turbulent. Remember that Boeing and Airbus outsource their jet turbines despite the savings they could obtain designing and building their own.

“People seldom improve

when they have no other

model but themselves.”

OUR

ENTERPRISE

TRANSFORMATION

PHILOSOPHY

(11)

9

ISL’s approach to transforming organisations can be summarized in the following

7-steps

:

First develop your CEO and senior leaders (SLP, ISL | MBA, CE CLASS, STRATEGY, CHANGE & TRANSFORMATION MASTERCLASS)

Second build a highly effective senior leadership team (ISL team dynamic and team building workshop)

Third develop mid level leader role-models and agents of change (LP)

Fourth create high performing project teams (ISL team dynamic and team building workshops)

Fifth support executives with executive coaching

Sixth use evidence-based processes to measure the caliber of senior leaders (360 process) and their teams (team 360)

Seventh undertake bi-monthly facilitated workshops that focus the senior leadership team on delivering KPIs and achieving goals

The Institute for Strategic Leadership has a team of facilitators and coaches - who use a set of processes and tools aimed at supporting CEOs to transform their organisations.

This is achieved by:

• developing leaders who lift the level of staff engagement;

• engaged staff (and innovative products and services) reduce staff turnover, attract other talented employees, and improve customer engagement;

• engaged customers enhance revenues, cash flows, and shareholder value.

ISL’s tailored solutions create value.

The Institute for Strategic Leadership prefers to establish a dialogue with the CEO of client organizations to enable a needs analysis to be made. We then work with our client to design a tailored solution.

The ultimate aim is to determine how best to design and deliver a leadership solution that aligns with the strategic agenda of the client organization and addresses how to become a high performance organization with sustainable competitive advantage and high value-creation for all major stakeholders.

Once the needs analysis has been completed and a leadership development plan agreed upon, ISL will then work with business unit managers and HR managers to implement the plan.

This is likely to involve a mix of open programmes and corporate in-house programmes to develop teamwork, team leadership skills, and to implement effective change-management initiatives. In some cases there may be value in crafting programmes that integrate the leadership development of the client with its alliance partners, suppliers, or customers. This may be particularly valuable for professional firms and banks that identify the benefits of building closer relationships with their important clients and being seen to provide added value to them.

“I found the ISL’s Strategic Leadership Programme enormously beneficial, both professionally and personally. It provides both the setting and the opportunity to consider leadership in a profound way; to think through how senior leaders can maximise their effectiveness to the benefit of their organisations. “If you understand the power of knowing about yourself from

yourself; if you are open to learning from others; and if you have

the courage to recognise and build on your strengths and address

your blind spots, then the Strategic Leadership Programme is for

you. It is a beautifully paced course that provides time for reflection,

personal challenge and a test of your metal. The focus is on learning

outside your comfort zone, so if you are not up for personal change,

don’t waste your time and money. This is a course for people who

Aimed at Directors, Chief Executives and General Managers, the Strategic Leadership Programme focuses on providing participants with an understanding of the important concepts of leadership and strategy, but more importantly, also provides them with the skills to implement what they learn. The 6-day intensive residential programme blends team-based learning with focused, one-on-one executive coaching. As a result, participants are able to hone their own innate leadership abilities and potentially deliver a vastly more effective style of leadership in the post-2008 era of volatility, uncertainty, complexion, and ambiguity.

Leadership Programme

The Leadership Programme is offered by the Institute for Strategic Leadership for mid-career managers, team leaders, and professionals who have been identified as high calibre with general management potential. This 5-day intensive residential Programme invites

participants to reflect on their current leadership style and learn how to develop leadership capabilities for more strategic roles.

As a future senior manager, the Participant will be required to venture into areas where the skill set that enabled their success to date may no longer be relevant. As a senior manager they must develop their capability to provide leadership in more complex and diverse situations, including maximizing the power of the team by providing processes for group buy-in and decision-making.

Undertaking the Leadership Programme will assist managers with successful transformation from manager to leader, and will enable them to improve the productivity of those they currently lead and assist them in seeing the organisation as whole.

“We’ve partnered with Geoff and the Institute for Strategic Leadership for a long time. Our Senior Managers all attend either the Strategic Leadership Programme or the Leadership Programme. We have chosen the Institute as our partner because of the huge impact the Programme has on our people, really focusing them on becoming great leaders. We particularly like that it provides excellent tools around strategy and also provides a real opportunity for personal leadership skill development in a pragmatic way. I’ve personally attended both the Strategic Leadership Programme and the ISL | MBA Programme and highly recommend both, they helped shape who I am as a leader today. TESTIMONIALS

“We’ve partnered with Geoff and the Institute for Strategic Leadership for a long

time. Our Senior Managers all attend either the Strategic Leadership Programme

or the Leadership Programme. We have chosen the Institute as our partner

because of the huge impact the Programme has on our people, really focusing

them on becoming great leaders. We particularly like that it provides excellent

tools around strategy and also provides a real opportunity for personal leadership

skill development in a pragmatic way. I’ve personally attended both the Strategic

Leadership Programme and the ISL| MBA Programme and highly recommend

both, they helped shape who I am as a leader today. The Institute produces

high quality high impact programmes and truly work as a partner with us to

“The unknown is a wonderful place! Not many, particularly leaders of

organisations or divisions of organisations like getting out of their comfort zones,

however not only is it not a bad place (out of comfort zone) but it is also very

rewarding. The Strategic Leadership Programme does not teach you – it creates

the opportunity for one to explore and learn – accordingly I would recommend

to anyone in a leadership position.”

Keith Cooper

Chief Executive, Silver Fern Farms

“The Strategic Leadership Programme is an outstanding opportunity to reflect,

re-focus, refresh and re-discover. The carefully structured program of events,

activities and experiences is fast-paced and energising, leading participants on an

amazing journey of self-discovery. The insights gained into individual, team and

organisational virtues are remarkable in their simplicity and powerful in their

application. The chance to work with high calibre, high performing professionals

from a diverse range of business experience was exhilarating and rewarding.

My one regret was that I had not had a chance to experience this world-class

learning opportunity earlier in my career. I have no hesitation in recommending

the SLP to those who would benefit from the chance to evaluate who you are,

where you’ve come from, where you want to go next, and how best to get there.

It is a truly uplifting experience.”

Vice Admiral Russ Shalders (ret) Former Chief of Royal Australian Navy, Australia

“Having participated in advanced management programmes at the top European

and US business schools, this was the first programme that tangibly demonstrated

how to be a more effective leader of people and resources. A must for CEOs

and top executives.”

Tony Stuart

CEO of NRMA (Sydney) and former CEO of Sydney Airport Corporation Australia

“The Strategic Leadership Programme was a fantastic experience. It was challenging,

confronting, exhausting and fun - and a ‘safe’ way to say and do things you wouldn’t

or couldn’t do in a normal work environment.

The SLP and, in particular, my Syndicate group and Coach, has instilled a level of

confidence, ability, self-belief and drive that I didn’t have before. And Millbrook is

just heaven on earth. Thanks to all the SLP team.”

“It is three months on from when I attended the Leadership Programme at Nugget Point

and the striking thing is that the lessons I took from the course are as fresh now as they

were on the plane ride home. It was a rare opportunity to step away from the day to day

bustle of work and look at what I want to achieve in work and life, with thought provoking

readings and seminars, time for reflection and the opportunity to spend time with a group

of very talented individuals from a range of sectors and industries.

The Programme gave me a chance to see my strengths and challenges as a leader from

an ‘outside in’ perspective through the eyes of my Syndicate team. The feedback they gave

me was invaluable – very encouraging and direct. The Programme also gave me practical

ideas for how I can be more effective as a leader and enjoy my role more, which I have

continued to implement since being back in the office. It is fantastic to have access to a

Programme of this quality in New Zealand.”

SUITABLE FOR: CEOs and GMs with CEO potential.

INSTITUTE FOR STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP

OVERVIEW

This programme is unique and specially designed by the Institute to meet the needs of CEOs and GMs. It builds on the cutting-edge business theory and topics taught in leading business schools in Europe, USA, and Australasia, and the intellectual properties that Geoff Lorigan and other Institute faculty have developed over the last decade. It also caters for the learning and time constraints of top-level executives. Many executives work their way up to senior levels through functional expertise but lack the knowledge and skills to view the organisation from a holistic, integrated, strategic perspective.

The programme is module-based and participants attend three five-day residential modules over three months.

The ISL | MBA covers in-depth, the must-have general management knowledge and skills in the following key areas:

1. Strategy Change & Organisation Management 2. Accounting & Finance

3. Marketing & People Matters

OUTCOMES

• The ability to think, analyse and implement at the strategic CEO level • Knowledge of the ‘strategic questions’ to ask of functional managers

• Confidence in presenting and defending your strategies to Boards and Analysts

HOW WILL YOU BENEFIT FROM THIS PROGRAMME?

The programme has been run for 5 years and in that time more than 60 people have taken the step | up. Outcomes from the programme are reported as improvements in business performance, staff engagement surveys, and career advancement.

CEO’s, MD’s & GM’s from a variety of organisations including NZDF, Kiwibank, Beef + Lamb NZ, Maritime New Zealand, The Warehouse, Treasury, Paymark, BOPRC, Air New Zealand, City Councils, Insurance companies and Ports, just to name a few.

TESTIMONIALS

“My learning goal was to synthesise the knowledge I have built on-the-job, and to

develop the right language and questions to be able to operate more holistically in the

business. The ISL | MBA is an intense learning experience that combines theory, case

study and pragmatic tool sets to ensure you leave with the skill to lead successfully.

A great mix of attendees brought different perspectives and excellent learning discussions.

I appreciated the opportunity to get some of the best things out of an MBA without the

time or financial commitments that a full programme requires.”

Anna Campbell

GM People Support, The Warehouse

“We all have such busy schedules these days that it is increasingly hard to step back and

examine if we are doing the right things, or are simply focused on doing the everyday

things as best we can.

The ISL | MBA course provided a tremendous opportunity to learn, reexamine

and recharge through an at times intense, but incredibly well structured programme

of theory tools and practical application via case studies. The opportunity to work

alongside skilled business practitioners from a wide range of New Zealand organisations,

both private and public sector, added an enormously valuable dimension. The ability of

Geoff and the ISL team to attract highly skilled business leaders to participate on panels

and as guest speakers, says volumes about the level at which this course is pitched and

the reputation that ISL has developed with the New Zealand business community.”

Kelvin Whall

Strategy Manager, Beef & Lamb New Zealand

“I had previously completed university qualifications in management but the

ISL | MBA programme provided an opportunity to put the theory into practice more

so than university could. Without doubt the case studies are the strength of the learning

and Geoff was able to continually provide very high class board members to challenge

us and provide great insight.

The programme is an intense three week period but because of its relatively short

duration the teaching is very focussed on the key issues in each topic area. You certainly

get placed outside your comfort zone but it is an extremely rewarding experience and

the more you reflect afterwards, the more you realise what you have learnt and how

you can apply it day to day.”

WORKSHOPS

ISL has a team of experienced facilitators who can deliver workshops tailored to suit the

development needs of clients. These include:

• Strategy development

• Team Dynamic Profiling

• Team Building

• Leadership Resilience

ISL has developed an evidenced-based

Success Model

and process for developing high

performance senior leadership teams. The process involves three stages (3 half day workshops):

PL ATI N U M PAC K AG E :

Half day workshop - profiling each team member to identify: personality, individual’s

preferences, and how to relate to each other. Also how the team works together (interpersonally

and collectively). Highlights ‘compatibility’, pressure spots, and team dynamics. The aim is to

build trust and provide team members with an online tool that enables each executive to tailor

their communications and leadership style to suit the preferences of other team members.

G R E E N PAC K AG E :

Half day workshop - developing a Team Charter (setting out expected attitudes and behaviours

and rules of engagement). Also includes a Team 360° instrument measuring the team against

the ISL Team Performance Framework (see next section: PROFILERS). and a session interpreting

the results.

GOLD PAC K AG E :

Half day workshop - clarifying the Team’s Mission and setting Team Goals. This package

involves team performance coaching aimed at acheiving KPIs set by the team.

The Institute for Strategic Leadership has developed a set of profilers

that identify how each executive is Wired-Up and Works-With others

(interpersonally and in teams).

These profilers are the unique intellectual property of ISL and are used

on programmes for one-on-one and team coaching, and on workshops and

executive coaching sessions.

ISL has developed a very insightful

Executive Profile that provides

executives, their colleagues and

coaches with the equivalent of an

‘operational manual’ – outlining

how the particular executive is

‘Hard Wired’ and how to work

with him/her.

APPLICATIONS:

• Each executive can share with his/her boss, colleagues and team members and identify how each other are ‘wired’ and discover how to tailor one’s styles to get the best out of others.

• Apply the Platinum Rule: “treat other people in a manner they would prefer to be treated’ (rather than the Golden Rule ‘treating other people as you would prefer

to be treated’) – this profiler provides one

with the information to tailor leadership style to others, rather than adopting a one-approach-fits-all style. The ISL | Executive Profile™ was developed by ISL based on Jungian innate typologies (Hard Wiring) and the interpersonal preferences (Soft Wiring, developed in formative years), documented by Schutz, Adorno, Fromm, Bion and Kaiser. This profile is a useful tool for executive development and team development.

FEES:

Fee: $250 + 15% GST per person (free of charge to ISL graduates).

Individual one-on-one interpretation with an experienced ISL coach (optional) is an additional $300 + 15% GST per person.

(46)

ISL use the MBTI

to filter and drive a database of information that is incorporated in

the ISL Executive Profile. An increasing number of executives have already completed an

MBTI

questionnaire and ‘best-fit’ session before. For those that haven’t we require them

to do so we can identify their MBTI

CODE that drives and integrates over 200 pages of

database in the DASHBOARD and TEAM DYNAMIC PROFER web apps.

MBTI

is used to identify a person’s natural preferences (hard wiring)

on the following four continuums:

(E)

Outgoing ‘extrovert’

versus

(I)

Quiet, ‘introvert’ and calm

(S)

Analytical ‘sensing’

versus

(N)

‘Intuitive’ Big Picture

(T)

Logical ‘thinking’

versus

(F)

People ‘feeling’ oriented

(J)

Methodical ‘judging’

versus

(P)

‘Pressure prompted’

Fees: $75 + GST per person

Interpretation and best-fit session: $300 + GST per person

Instrument

Fundamental Interpersonal relationship Orientation Behaviour

ISL use the FIRO B

to add to the MBTI

information in the ISL Executive Profile of

DASHBOARD and TEAM DYNAMIC PROFILER web apps. FIRO B

identifies ‘what

we will notice about an executive when working in a team’. It also enables us to determine

team members’ compatibility (interpersonally and collectively) when viewed in the context of

all other team members’ FIRO B

personal default

FIRO B™ measures:

Involvement / Inclusion

- the extent to which a person prefers to be involved in groups (versus work alone).

Influence / Control

- the extent to which a person likes to take control of people and situations.

Openness / Affection

- the extent to which a person likes to be open (self disclosing) and warm / friendly; one-on-one with others (versus private).

An example of a team of five experts under pressure:

• Three are very inclusive and prefer to work as a team. Two are independent and prefer to work alone. • Two like to be in control (most of the time and with most people). Three prefer hate been micro-managed. • Two are warm, friendly and self disclosing. Three are cool, calm and very private.

Although there are no ‘right’ nor ‘wrong’ preferences – a facilitated discussion is required to understand each others needs, build trust, and learn how to accommodate each others style.

FIRO-B™

(48)

ISL have developed it’s own 360° questionnaire and called it the

063°

.

Just, like the word ERIF on the front of a fire engine, 063°

translates to

360° when viewed through a mirror. That’s because ISL’s online 063°

is designed as a development tool (rather than a performance rater) and

provides executives with the opportunity to see themselves through the

lens of ‘boss’, colleagues, and reports.

The 063°

is based on ISL’s Strategic Leadership Competency Framework and provides feedback on the

following competencies:

• Strategic Thinker

• Change Champion

• Role Model

• Influencer

• Motivator

• Team Builder

• Business Savvy

• Emotional Intelligence

• Emotional Resilience

The framework was based on observations and

analyses of 1,750 executives who attended the

Institute’s leadership development programmes.

The Strategic Leader 063°

feedback process

is anonymous. All responses (except for the

feedback from Manager/Report to) are

un-named and randomised so as to avoid disclosure.

The report is not be published unless all invited

respondents submit their feedback, which assures

a representative ‘sample’ as well as ‘anonymity’.

Ideally this self-initiated feedback process should

be undertaken at least once per year (ideally

every six months). This gives time to put the

recommendations into action, and ensures that

the process is not too onerous for all involved.

ISL Team 360° is based on ISL’s Team Performance Framework and

provides feedback on the following competencies:

• Customer & Stakeholder Focus

• Mission & Meaning

• Values

• Platform for Trust

• Courageous Conversations

• Team Relationships

• Results Focused

Ideally this team feedback process should be

undertaken at least once per year (ideally every

its progress on the priority development area.

For example, if the team is not able to have

‘Courageous Conversations’, it may be necessary

The ISL Team 360° is based on the ideas

and inspirations from Patrick Lencioni’s
