American Dynamics Connected

Platform Integration Program Details

Thank you for your interest in the American Dynamics Connected Program. The purpose of the Connected Program is to provide end users with high quality

integrations that tie the functionality of American Dynamics’ video recorders and IP video cameras with products from other solution vendors.

What is the Connected Program?

The Connected Program provides a path to integration with American Dynamics’ platforms through various means. The Connected Program is a collaboration between American Dynamics and the Partner Company to develop an integration between the two solutions. It is expected that this integration will be maintained by the Partner across releases of American Dynamics products and partner product versions. The Connected Program is focused on high quality integrations and provides expert video platform support and knowledge in support of our partner’s integration qualification efforts. After successful completion, integrations are promoted through the American Dynamics channel and listed on the website at www.americandynamics.net. This is a joint effort between American Dynamics and the Partner to develop any necessary marketing tools such as press releases and sales tools.

How do I join the Connected Program as a Partner?

There are several steps involved in joining the program. To get started, simply go to www.americandynamics.net , and complete the “American Dynamics Connected”

Application Form. On the American Dynamics Connected page, please download the word document and follow the instructions for submission. Your request will be

evaluated and you will be notified of acceptance into the program. Because the

Connected Program has been extremely popular, there may be a wait time before entry. If there is a queue for entry to the program, prioritization for entry to the program

happens through the American Dynamics sales team. Please contact Connected Product Management for any questions regarding program schedules.

(2)

After prioritization has occurred, there is a License Agreement, Program Fee, Program Application and Statement of Work you will need to complete. Once these have been submitted and processed, everything is in place for joining the program. The Connected Program product manager will work with you in scheduling time in our labs if required, as well as prioritizing any other testing. For details on the program options and fees, please refer to Appendix A and Appendix B.

How can I integrate with VideoEdge recorders?

The primary means of integrating with the American Dynamics recorders such as the HDVR, Intellex and VideoEdge NVR is via the American Dynamics SDK

(ADSDK). The SDK is a package of several components to allow integration with these recorders. The SDK is used by software engineers to build an interface that allows for creation, modification and monitoring of all aspects of the VideoEdge system.

How do I integrate with the American Dynamics illustra IP cameras?

Integration with the American Dynamics illustra brand of IP video surveillance cameras can occur using ONVIF or by developing a specific camera handler or driver for the camera to communicate with the video recording platform.

What is ONVIF?

ONVIF is an open industry forum for the development of a global standard for the interface of IP-based physical security products. The ONVIF specification strives to ensure interoperability between products regardless of manufacturer. The cornerstones of ONVIF are:

 Standardization of communication between IP-based physical security 

 Interoperability between IP-based physical security products regardless of manufacturer

 Open to all companies and organizations

The ONVIF specification defines a common protocol for the exchange of information between network video devices including automatic device discovery, video

streaming and intelligence metadata. For more information about ONVIF, please refer to their website at www.onvif.org.

What do I get with the Connected Program?

When you join the Connected Program, American Dynamics provides our partners the appropriate platform/product software, SDK development license, documentation, industry-leading SDK engineering support, project management, Factory Acceptance Test plans, and access to American Dynamics test equipment. Details on what is included in the ADSDK package can be found in Appendix A.

What is the Vendor-Verified Process?

Vendor verification ensures that required functionality is present and that the appropriate documentation is available for installation and support of the integration interface. Partner solutions are set up, and validated by the partner to ensure proper capabilities and performance. A Factory Acceptance Test Plan is provided to guide the partner through their qualification effort. Use of the provided factory test plan templates is optional although many partners choose to use them. It is important to note that all qualifications are performed and validated by the partner. After qualification is

complete, announcement is made to the American Dynamics sales channel and the integration is listed on the American Dynamics website. Each qualification is done against one version of partner product and only on the most recent, generally available release. During the first year or while active under software support, upgrades to the SDK and software are provided to the partner, usually prior to official release.

Remember the integration is the responsibility of the partner and will be considered a partner verified and qualified integration.

What version of the American Dynamics product should I test against? What version of my product can I qualify against?

The qualified versions must be general release product. We cannot qualify against customer specific builds or pre-release software. It is always recommended partners develop against and qualify against the latest version of the American Dynamics product with the latest release of their product.

What happens after my integration is complete?

Once your integration is completed, you now have access to the following benefits:

 Use of the American Dynamics appropriate logos

 Listing in the American Dynamics monthly newsletter

 Listing on the American Dynamics web-page

 Eligibility for annual SSA renewal

 Factory Acceptance Test Statement from American Dynamics if applicable

What if I need to call in for support after my hours have expired?

In the process of developing your integration, you may have used up the allotted SDK engineering support hours. Additional hours are available for purchase should you need them. However, once you have deployed your integration and run into a problem and realize you have expired support hours what happens? If you have worked with your end-user customer and cannot find a solution, you can call American Dynamics SDK engineering support. You will need to have a current SSA in place or provide our support technician with a PO or credit card information. American Dynamics will work with you to find a resolution to your problem. If it is determined that the problem is on the partner’s side, American Dynamics will bill the partner for time spent on the issue. If it is determined that the problem is with the SDK, then American Dynamics will address it at no charge to the partner. It is important to remember that our partners always “own” the integration and are responsible for it. American Dynamics is responsible for the SDK and ensuring that we provide a reliable SDK for our partners. It is by this combined partnership and integration that the customer issues are addressed first.

Additional Product Integration – ADC-ADDP - $1300

If you wish to integrate additional products, and you have already purchased a package with the SDK, you may choose to qualify that product at a reduced rate. Partner will receive an additional 4 hours of support. Partner will be required to provide information as the first product qualfiied.

Additional Engineering Support – ADSDK-SDKENG - $500 per 4hr block

Engineering support is available if your integration is not completed within the time allotted in the Program Option purchased. Additional time is in blocks of 4 hours. The fee for each block of 4 hours is $500. Partner will be charged for each block regardless of the actual time used within the block.
