Round up inches to the nearest foot.
An area's square footage is determined by multiplying its length times width.
Lengths of Standard 12' wide Sheets may be reduced by adjusting for areas that can be cut from the same 12' wide section.
Lengths must also be adjusted to account for widths greater than 12' wide. The total requirement can be further reduced by combining areas if the same type and color is used in all areas.
Using the Living Room as an example:
A) Since the main area is 16' wide, a 4' wide piece will need to be seamed to a 12' wide section for 16' B) Both the 4' LR Ext and the LR Closet can be cut from the excess from the 8' that is left in this section This results in a net reduction of 2' in length (+ 16' & - 14' = 2' Add)
Irregularly shaped areas are measured by dividing the area into individual sections and calculating the square footage in each one

GENERAL NOTES ON MEASURING ROOFS:
Flat Roofs
If the roof is flat or has no more than a 3 in 12 pitch, calculate its total square footage by simply multiplying the length by the width.
A Square is equal to 100 Square Feet.
Steeper Roofs
Measure the structure at ground level and add the roof’s overhang. As an example, if the roof overhang is 12 inches, add 2 feet to the overall length and 2 feet to the overall width. The total nominal square footage is multiplied by a factor associated with the roof’s pitch. Pitch Multiply by:
