FUNCTION ROOMS

Main Cell Block

Built between 1852 and 1859, this four-storey range of prison cells is one of the most spectacular function venues in Perth. Divided into four divisions, separated by large double doors that can be opened to use more than one division, these areas are perfect for 30 to 400 guests.

East Workshops

Originally built to provide activity for inmates and a training ground for unskilled prisoners, the East Workshops are perfect for presentations, award nights and formal dinners for up to 300 guests

Commissariat

For something different, entertain your guests in the Commissariat - two interconnecting stylish underground rooms previously used as the Prison’s food storage area. These limestone-walled rooms are ideal for pre-dinner drinks and cocktail parties for up to 50 guests

Crown Theatre

Formerly the prisoner entertainment area, this venue is well suited to theatre performances and product launches. The theatre has a permanent stage and can seat approximately 60 guests

Convict Café

Located inside the Gatehouse the Convict Café is available for intimate dinners from 20 to 60 guests and ideal for cocktail style functions for up to 90 guests

Main Parade Ground

Please note, due to occupational health and safety requirements functions this area require the use of a marquee. Alternatively, you may wish to use this space for pre-dinner drinks if weather permits

Gatehouse

Prior to decommissioning in 1991, the imposing nineteenth century limestone façade of the Gatehouse was the extent of most Western Australians’ association with the maximum security Fremantle Prison. The area makes a great pre-dinner drink location for evening functions

Chapels

The historic Fremantle Prison is an increasingly popular venue for wedding ceremonies. Many couples are choosing to be

married in one of the stunning Prison Chapels, with their own celebrant or priest, or against the spectacular backdrop of this premier cultural heritage site
