ear colleague,

As beautiful as possible an individual person’s house might be, that

person would also like to see a beautiful house of his neighbor each

time he looks out of the window.

In the same manner, the inhabitants of a country should desire to see in

good status the inhabitants of the neighbor country.

Having this in mind, we have decided to initiate such a collaboration

between physicians of the two neighbor countries, Greece & Turkey in a

very delicate subject such is Senology (Mastology).

Breast, symbol of maternity, fertility, poetry and sex, has gained the

attention of Medical Community since some decades now, in a special

way, in order to promote specific attention for it. So, the specialization on

Senology field in our days became a must.

The Congress is organized in order in the one hand, to collect and present

the latest achievements on Senology so as to inspire and inform especially

young scientists and on the other hand to exchange scientific thoughts,

puzzles and dilemmas between the physicians of the two neighbor

countries. Among the invited speakers, the well known Dr. Laszlo Tabar

is going to perform a series of teaching courses on the imaging of Breast

Diseases; these Courses are going to be extremely helpful to those dealing

with breast imaging. The scientific programme is also going to include other

interesting topics such as: Health related quality of life, the impact of breast

cancer on sexuality, body image, learn to live with breast cancer – survivorship,

target therapies for breast cancer, news from main breast cancer congresses,

hereditary breast cancer, infertility and breast cancer risk, epidemiology -

breast cancer registry, breast cancer surgery. less is more?, prognostic factors,

plastic surgery, medical oncology, complementary treatment in breast cancer,

pregnancy and breast cancer, financial problems in breast cancer diagnosis

and treatment inside economical crisis era, the role of environment, nutrition

and cosmetics in breast cancer development, breast cancer and mass media.

Do they say the truth? What should a good journalist to do?, generics: where

is the truth?, ultrasound anatomy, technical and scanning pitfalls.

Apart from the interesting scientific programme of the Congress, a special

social event is organized by the Greek Organizing Committee aiming to give the

participants the chance to be acquainted with the Greek spirit.
