PBL EXPECTATION: Be Safe

FOCUS BEHAVIOUR: Be eSafe and use all forms of technology responsibly, safely and appropriately.

Positive Behaviour For Learning (PBL)

PBL is a school-wide process that creates positive learning environments for all students, while also supporting student learning and wellbeing.

During week 6, students will be focussing on Being Safe. This means working towards being eSafe by:

Leaving personal technology devices at home. Keeping online passwords private.

Using computers and ipads only with adult supervision.

Keeping personal information and details private and offline.

Stop, block and report online cyberbullying.

COMMIT EXCEL SUCCEED

Hello and welcome to my Principal’s Note for Week 5.

The past week was another prime time for student learning and improvement to be enhanced throughout the entire school. It was great to hear of the improvements and achievements which were made by many students, particularly in reading. Well done

to all staff, students and parents for your commitment to ensuring every student is learning and achieving every day. Every student can succeed!

Parents – Please be respectful and follow the Stop, Drop and Go process when dropping

off and picking up your children. Please drop off and collect your children at the gate. To

avoid physical distancing issues in the School Administration area, please phone or email instead. Please do not gather in areas around the school such as carparks, at the school

gate, around buildings or outside classrooms. In addition, please refrain from entering

school buildings and classrooms. If your child is unwell, it is essential that you keep them

at home. In accordance with Queensland Health Directions, parents or carers of any child showing signs of illness will be asked to collect them immediately from the school.

School Parade – only for students and staff. Physical distancing is still required for all

adults. However, adults can join us on our Surat State School Facebook page for a live stream of parade on Monday morning, 17 August at 8.45am.

Thank you to all students for another glorious week of learning!

Remember, “The Surat State School way is to commit to our learning, strive for excellence

and succeed in all we do.”

Enjoy the weekend!
