Information concerning the organisation of the internship

The intern is covered by statutory accident insurance while undertaking his/her work placement. The intern is covered by

Unfallkasse Sachsen Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung

The intern is also covered by liability insurance for the whole time of the internship. During the work placement the company regulations of the company become a binding part of the school regulations. The intern is obligated to keep to these regulations.

Working hours conform to the weekly working hours of the company concerning collective agreements, taking the provisions of youth labour law into account.

The work placement company will not be paid for arranging the work placement and is not bound to paying any assistance, travelling costs or compensation.

At the end of his/her work placement the intern is to be certified his/her participation in the work placement and the work in the different departments. Moreover, an assessment of the work of the intern is to be made.

concerning the content and the aims of the training at Euro-Schulen gGmbh “State-certified Business Assistant, specialising in foreign languages”

The student attends a full-time training at Euro-Schulen Leipzig to become a certificate “State-certified Business Assistant, specialising in foreign languages”.

Main focus of the training: English

French Spanish

Business Studies Applied Informatics

Office Management and Communication

The training mainly focuses on developing language skills, understanding the structure and coherences of the management in a European company, and at dealing with modern data processing.

Undertaking the work placement the student shall be able to gain first work experience, to check his/her knowledge obtained at school and to assimilate into the performance process of the company. This experience is essential in order to gain a foothold in a company and to facilitate entering the job market.

During the work placement the student should have the chance to

■ check theoretical knowledge practically

■ get to know the complexity of the work routine in a business enterprise

■ take part in solving problems concerning the performance process of the company

■ acquire professional skills

■ get to know the social environment of a company

■ extend ability and social competence

■ get to know the interplay of the different departments of a company as well as their cooperation with partners

The following areas and tasks are a selection, they can be developed and extended according to the conditions of the work placement company:

Office Management and Communication

familiarizing with the communications and information technology of the company, composing forms and documents; dealing with books, lists, files, company organisation, updating, changing and analysing easy company data (warehouse files) Finance and

accountancy

familiarizing with customer service, order processing, distribution, flow of information and records linked to accountancy, advertising and sales promotion, calculation; working on several tasks, e.g. stock receipt control, price labelling, completing shipping documents, reminders

Personnel familiarizing with recruitment measures, staff care and training,

legal bases for creating working conditions, forms of pay, payment documents; dealing with tasks, e.g. lists of holidays, analysing flexitime accounts

Accountancy familiarizing with the structure of financial accounting, the

classification and content of accounts, the calculation system, the pricing policy of the company; helping to check invoices and documentation and to calculate prices

Foreign languages / Management

business correspondence in foreign languages (mainly English), preparing conferences and meetings with international business partners; communicating with customers from abroad,

This work placement is part of the training to become a “State-certified Business Assistant, specialising in foreign languages”. It is meant for applying and extending the knowledge and skills acquired at school and for dealing with practical tasks in the company.

The company organises the content of the work placement. The students should mainly deal with business tasks applying foreign languages in the areas of business administration, data processing and languages.

Possible tasks:

■ Inform about the legal form of the work placement company and the legal, economic and fiscal consequences resulting from that.

■ Develop a survey of the performance process of the company.

■ Describe the structure of your company.

■ Inform about the use of data processing in the company.

■ Inform about different software solutions and about how they are used for developing economic processes.

■ Inform about forms of pay in the company.

■ Inform about international business partners.

During the work placement you are a student of Euro-Schulen Leipzig gGmbH and are covered by insurance.

You are expected to keep to the company regulations and the regulations on accident

prevention as well as to the instructions made by the person in charge of you. You will not be paid for your work.

If you are ill, please inform the company immediately and present your health insurance certificate to Euro-Schulen Leipzig gGmbH within three days.
