Project “Pathways to Power: The Political Representation of Citizens of Immigrant Origin in Seven European Democracies”, funded by the British Economic and Social Research Council under the Open Research Area scheme, jointly with the Dutch NWO, French ANR, and German DFG. I am the PI of the British team, and the overall international coordinator is Prof. Thomas Saalfeld (University of Bamberg). I co-ordinate a team of 3 Research Assistants and 6 other co-Investigators in the British team. Grant for the British team: £681,639. 1st May 2014 – 30th April 2017. The grant covers 14% FTE of my salary over the 3

years.

Project “Democratic Responsiveness in Comparative Perspective: How Do Democratic Governments Respond to Different Expressions of Public Opinion? (RESPONSIVEGOV)”, funded by the European Research Council Starting Grants Programme. I am the sole PI of this project and co-ordinate a team of 1 post-doctoral researcher, 2 PhD students and 1 50% FTE administrator. Grant: €1,440,622. 1st December

2011-30th November 2016 (60 months). The grant covers 80% FTE of my salary over the 5 years.

Project“Support and Opposition to Migration. A cross national comparison of the politicization of migration”, funded by the 7th Framework Programme of the EC. I am the PI of the University of Manchester partner team (overall consortium coordinated by the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland). Grant: € 1,496,013 (of which € 205,594 for my team at Manchester). 1st October 2009-30th September 2012.

Project “Do Traditional “Get Out the Vote” Campaing Methods Work in Spain? A Pilot Experiment on Non-Partisan Mobilisation of Immigrant and Native Voters”, funded by the Juan March Institute (Spain). Grant:

Within this project, I was the principal investigator of the grant by the Spanish Ministry of Education SEC2002-11872-E to organise an international meeting of the European research project, which

Researcher in the project Citizens and Democracy in Europe: A Comparative Analysis of the data from the first wave of the European Social Survey, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology (grant no. SEC2002-03364). The main goal of this project was to analyse the data obtained in the first round of the European Social Survey, conducted in 26 European countries. Principal researcher: Mariano Torcal (UPF). Period: 2003-2005.

Researcher in the project Political Participation and Social Integration in Madrid: Associations, activists and immigrants, funded by the Council of Education of the Region of Madrid (grant no. 06/0087/2002). Period: January 2003-April 2004. This project was part of a European network working on Social Capital and Immigrants, directed by Profs. Jean Tillie and Meindert Fennema (University of Amsterdam). I was responsible of the management of the project and of fieldwork coordination.

Researcher in the project Political participation and social capital in Spain: a comparative analysis, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology (grant no. SEC 2000-0758-C02) and directed by Profs. José Ramón Montero (UAM) and Joan Font (UAB), 2001-2004. In this project, my role was to be in charge of the linkage between the two subprojects directed by Profs. Montero and Font, and to monitor the design and fieldwork of the citizen survey undertaken. This research project was part of the European research project Citizenship, Involvement, Democracy supported by the European Science Foundation. Member of the research team on Comparative Political Knowledge coordinated by Prof. Henry Milner (University of Laval, Canada). The research team was supported by the ECPR to hold a research meeting at the ECPR Geneva Research Sessions, 19-22 September 2002.
