Track key dates

Every date field in HR.net Express can be set as an event trigger to generate an automatic reminder on your task manager.

Run reports

HR.net Express comes with a great suite of reports all of which can be edited or deleted. Create any number of new reports and select which charts display on your HR dashboard.

Flexible search

The dynamic search capability in HR.net Express allows you to quickly locate any information stored in the database.

Email notifications

HR.net Express will automatically send emails directly to users with SMTP compliant email systems (e.g. Outlook).

Import data

Load existing HR data quickly from a spreadsheet or directly from other Vizual products including Personnel Manager and Personnel Director.

Microsoft Office integration

Generate mail merges directly to Microsoft Word, data extracts to Excel and calendar

Managing Employee data in HR.net Express

There is a comprehensive range of employee data screens, organised into the following groups:

Managing employee documents

HR.net Express allows you to store electronic copies of any documents. Upload any scanned document into the employee’s record in the database. Stored documents can be in any format including .doc, xls, pdf, jpeg and bmp. You can also store copies of emails sent to employees using HR.net and any employment letters generated using a common task or the mail merge wizard..

Mail merge in HR.net Express

Follow the mail merge wizard to quickly generate letters to employees based on templates you store in the Document Explorer.

You can then automatically store a copy of any letters in the employee’s electronic file. In addition to the wizard you can also initiate a mail merge directly from many of the Common Tasks generating letters as part of one seamless process.

very intuitive and easy to navigate,

even for the non-technical user.

Reporting in HR.net Express

Reporting in HR.net Express could not be easier as the software

comes with a comprehensive suite of pre-configured reports.

There is a wizard-driven report designer allowing you to edit

reports or to create any number of user-defined reports.

Running reports is very straight forward - just click on the

desired report in the Report Centre on your HR dashboard and

the results appear on screen.

Reports can be output in PDF and Word format and you can

create data exports directly to Excel.

In addition to text reports HR.net also comes with a wide range

of pre-configured charts. You decide which charts appear on

your HR dashboard allowing you to track the key performance

indicators for your business. These charts are based on real-time

data stored in the employee records in HR.net Express -

change the information in the database and see the KPI charts

on your HR dashboard change instantly.

HR.net uses powerful workflow technology to automate the most common HR processes reducing duplication of effort, ensuring data accuracy and saving you time. Manage employee dates

HR.net Express helps you to manage important dates and set reminders for you, your managers and workforce including follow-up dates, contract end dates and any other important events you need to track.

There are over 50 pre-programmed event triggers in HR.net Express every one of these can be edited or deleted and any number of new event triggers added.

Your pending tasks are displayed on your HR dashboard and each day you will see an action list of items for that day. Action the task directly from your dashborard and see it crossed off off your list as you work through the items requiring your attention.

Technical Product support

HR.net Express has been written using the latest .NET technology from Microsoft.

The underlying database is Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express which is supplied as your part of your installation. If you already have Microsoft SQL Server already pre-installed then this can be specified during the installation process.

HR.net runs on Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 which is also installed and configured as part of the installation process. The application also requires by IIS7 SP1. If IIS7 is not located on your PC then UltiDev Casini Web Server is installed automatically.

Email is handled via HR.net Express’s internal SMTP engine and this will use your company’s email gateway to route emails to recipients over your network or the Internet.

Client requirements

End users access the application via Internet Explorer 7 and no software is required for normal HR users, manager or employee users. Any PC capable of running Internet Explorer 7 is all that is required to access HR.net Express.

Implementation and training services

HR.net Express has been designed for you to get up and running ‘out of the box’ just using the Getting Started Guide (supplied in the box with your software) and the comprehensive User Guide (provided on the disc with your software).

Online training

We offer a range of online training courses accessed via the Internet. You log on from your own PC and join the trainer and other participants for sessions on a wide range of topics designed to help you get a better understanding of the key features in HR.net Express. These courses focus on specific areas of functionality so if all you need to know is how to build a report then that is all you cover in the session. Sessions last from 20 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on the topic. Take one course or sign up for a programme – you decide. Visit

Onsite installation and training

Vizual also provide on-site training, consulting and implementation services at your location. Our consultant will work with you to Install HR.net Express, import your data, configure your system and train the HR users.

Helpdesk support

Help desk support is included in your the usage fee that you pay to use HR.net Express. You can log any number of

helpdesk incidents and have these resolved by our experienced helpdesk team. You also have unlimited access to the comprehensive online knowledge base covering every aspect of HR.net Express.

Software upgrades

Any upgrades to HR.net Express released whilst you’re using the software are provided to customers at no extra cost (providing you pay your ongoing usage charge). Upgrades are supplied on a single CD and can be installed easily by the customer.

Upgrading from HR.net Lite

If you have already installed a copy of HR.net Lite then you will not need to install any more software.

Simply call our sales team on 0844 770 0255 and they will issue a new licence key unlocking HR.net Express. You will not lose any data or reports created in HR.net Lite.

Migrating from Personnel Manager

If already use Personnel Manager from Vizual then you can easily migrate to HR.net Express.
