A Scholarship for Seniors Attending Any OREGON College or University, Trade School or Technical Institute

Applications are available Online www.the-ftts.org or in your High School Counseling Center

Scholarship Overview

Scholarship is available to any OREGON accredited College or University, Trade School or Technical Institute.

 One $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduate of Tigard High School.

 One $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduate of Tualatin High School. note: value not to exceed amount reasonably required for one year course of study

A Scholarship for High School Graduates of Tigard and Tualatin High School

Scholarship Standards

Academic:

 Must be a graduate of Tigard or Tualatin High School with a minimum accumulated GPA of at least 2.75 after the seventh semester.

Scholarship applicant must be planning to attend an OREGON accredited college, university, trade school, or technical institute.

 Must demonstrate commitment to achieving the highest attainable personal level of academic performance.

Leadership and Involvement:

 During High School, the applicant has, by conduct and activities, demonstrated characteristics of leadership and good citizenship within the high school campus, community and elsewhere.

 The applicant must also show a true commitment to service to their school and their community.

Goal:

 Applicant must have identified a goal of earning a degree or certification of completion from an accredited institution by satisfying the requirements of a full-time course of study of training. Financial Need:

Checklist for Application and Enclosures

Materials required for submitting this application are listed below:

Completed and signed official scholarship application

Official High School transcript through 7th semester (must be sealed by guidance center)

SAT, ACT, and other test scores

Activities outline for all four years of high school.

Three (3) letters of recommendation (no more than 2 from the same category please)

Letter to Foundation stating why you qualify for this scholarship

College expenses and sources of income may be prepared on a separate sheet.

Send or bring the completed application on or before Friday, April 11, 2014 4:00 pm

SCHOLARSHIP STANDARDS INFORMATION

To demonstrate that you meet the Standards of the Scholarship requirements:

• Write a letter to The Foundation describing how you qualify for this scholarship.

• Includes letters of recommendation from three (3) of the following individuals. (No more than two (2) letters from any one category)

• Teachers

• School counselors

• Employers

• Other

• Please detail what course of study or training you intend to pursue upon completion of High School. Please explain why you chose this path.

• Write a paragraph describing something special about yourself. This can include a personal accomplishment or adversity overcome or an award that you have received.
