what’s your passion?

When AFIA ASAMOAH is not working with her dance group, writing music reviews or creating new fashion designs, Afia is doing research. Last year she was picked as one of our prestigious Summer Scholars to complete funded research on the levels of air and water pollution created by major fashion companies. This year she continued to gain experience in her field, interning at Kohl’s department store.

When SARAY LOPEZ first began at UD, she didn’t know what to expect. But as soon as she connected with a first-generation student group on campus, she felt at home. From there, her college career really took off. She found faculty mentors who she assisted with substance abuse research, while also taking leadership positions in a club for Latinx students, HOLA, and a professional organization for human resources.

Joining the World Scholars program, WILL JELLEY traveled to Madrid, Spain his first semester at UD. There, he began to see how public policy affects people across the globe. He took this new perspective with him to Washington, D.C. where he interned on Capitol Hill. His comfort with travel then landed him a job on a presidential campaign, crisscrossing the country and deepening his insight into his field.

When CAITLIN RULLI began looking at schools, she didn’t know much about UD and wasn’t sure what to choose for her major. But when she visited, she found what she was looking for: opportunities to try things out. With over 400 clubs, research and study abroad opportunities, she could explore any interest. She soon found her passion and was a research assistant working on projects related to eating disorders and quality food production.
