When we started Frontpoint, we set out to create a completely different kind of alarm company. Today, as one of the largest alarm companies in the country, we’re thrilled to offer you unmatched protection and service that is:

100% CELLULAR. VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO DEFEAT

We are the only nationwide alarm company that provides reliable cellular

technology to each and every customer. That means you’ll have an unprecedented level of reliability that’s virtually impossible to defeat.

5–STAR RATED

In a world where quality service is hard to find, we’re proud to be the only nationwide alarm company with a 5-star average rating on Yelp!, a #1 rating on the BuyerZone Network, and an “A” rating on the BBB.

EASY TO SET UP

Gone are the days of the complicated alarm system that requires a lengthy installation by a service technician. We’ve made your Frontpoint alarm system remarkably easy to set up. In fact, it’s so simple, you’ll likely be done in about 30 minutes.

Congratulations on joining the thousands of customers throughout North America who have chosen security that’s safer, smarter and simpler.

What’s in the box?

Take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the

contents of your order. Each sensor is identified by a

sensor number label.

While every Frontpoint system is completely

customized, a typical system includes:

CONTROL PANEL

The Control Panel is the nerve center of your system. It connects wirelessly with all the sensors in your home and communicates with Frontpoint using a secure cellular connection.

SENSORS

Wireless sensors create the protective shield around your home. These may include sensors for doors, windows, motion, glass breakage, environmental conditions, and more.

Control Panel

WHERE TO PLACE

• In a central location in your home, above ground.

• On any flat surface such as a countertop, a tabletop or shelf. • In a place where it can plug into an outlet that is NOT controlled by a

switch and does not have a “test/reset” button (i.e. do not use with ground fault interrupted (GFI) outlets).

WHERE NOT TO PLACE

• Next to a window (where an intruder would easily see it from outside).

SPECIAL SETUP NOTE

Make sure you have plugged the Control Panel’s power adapter into an outlet that is NOT controlled by a switch and does not have a “test/reset” button

(i.e. a non-ground fault interrupted (GFI) electrical outlet).

STEP 1

Activate the battery

Connect the backup battery (located on the backside of the panel) by pushing the red connectors together until the metal part of the plug is completely hidden.

STEP 2

Plug in the power adapter

(8)

Plan locations for

your sensors

Using this sensor location sheet, list where you will place all of your sensors (e.g. front door, back door, family room, etc.). We recommend taking time to choose sensor locations prior to setup.

SPECIAL SETUP NOTES

• Each of your sensors has already been numbered

• Make sure to use the lowest numbered sensors for your doors (e.g. front door).

• After listing the doors you want protected, list the remaining areasin which your sensors will be placed (e.g. family room, front hallway, kitchen, etc.) • Refer back to this page after your activation call, to customize your sensor

(9)

The Door & Window Sensor is a small, wireless device that detects the opening and closing of just about anything. This sensor comes with two pieces: the larger piece (transmitter) and the smaller piece (magnet). When placing the two pieces, find the “arrow” on each and be

sure these arrows are as close together as possible (within 3/4 of an inch).

Intrusion Sensors:

Door & Window Sensor

WHERE TO PLACE

• A front or back door

• Any ground floor door or window • Within ~100 feet of the Control Panel

• Anything that opens and closes (e.g. medicine or gun cabinet, drawer, etc.)

SETUP TIPS

• Prior to setting up your Door & Window Sensors, turn on the “chime” feature on your Control Panel. (See the Your Control Panel guide to learn about “chimes.”) • The adhesive included with your sensors is industrial-grade. Make sure each

sensor is in the correct location before firmly securing.

Preferred Sensor Setup (with transmitter on the door frame) or Optional Sensor Setup (with magnet on the door frame)

For Doors:

STEP 1

Prep the surface

Locate the appropriate place for your sensor. Make sure the surface is clean and dry.

STEP 2

Place the sensor

• Place the transmitter on the door frame. If your door frame has decorative molding, it may be easier to place the transmitter on the door itself and the magnet on the door frame.

Before firmly securing the sensor, make sure it is in the correct position.

• Remove the wax backing from the adhesive strip

• Press the sensor firmly in place and hold for about 30 seconds

Intrusion Sensors:

Door & Window Sensor

(11)

For Windows:

STEP 1

Prep the surface

Locate the appropriate place for your sensor. Make sure the surface is clean and dry.

STEP 2

Place the sensor

• Place the transmitter on the window frame. If your window frame has decorative molding, it may be easier to place the transmitter on the door itself and the magnet on the door frame instead.

• Press the sensor firmly in place and hold for about 30 seconds

Intrusion Sensors:

Motion Sensor

SPECIAL TIPS FOR PET OWNERS

• Do not set up a Motion Sensor in a room frequented by any pet (over 40 lbs). • Do not set up a motion sensor that points at (or is near) an elevated surface

that a pet may be able to jump onto (e.g. a bed, a couch, etc.)

• Multiple small pets that group together may appear larger to a Motion Sensor and can trigger a false alarm.

The wireless Motion Sensor detects

people moving across a room and

can secure larger common areas

(e.g. a living room, a hallway, a

basement, etc.).

WHERE TO PLACE

• In a central room or corridor of your home

• 4 to 5 feet off the ground

(13)

NOTE

The sensor light turns on only during test mode. To test, remove and replace the back cover. Within 60 seconds, leave the sensor area, then walk across the room. When the light illuminates, the sensor is working properly. After 60 seconds of inactivity, the sensor will return to regular operation.
