14 December 2020 Dear Parents/Carers
What Happened At P&C? – December 2020
We had an excellent evening meeting this month via Zoom. Thanks to those parents and community members who attended online. We covered a number of topics:
Attendance: We have had a focus on attendance this year. Students should attend school 100% of the time unless there is a medical issue. We have seen an improvement with attendance of about 3% to 4% in each grade which has been fantastic.
Cooler Classrooms Program: Air-conditioning will be installed into normal classrooms from February 2021 to June 2021.
Cecil Hills HS Creative Space: This is the online version of our annual showcase and also provides an overview of the work completed in creative and performing arts this year. You can access the website here: www.chhscreativespace.com.
Football Development Program: This launches in 2021. We already have around 20 students who will be participating. The program involves 80 training sessions during the year from coaches associated with the Matildas and Mariners.
Orientation Day for Year 7 (2021): This was held very successfully with a focus on students learning about high school, getting to know staff, finding new friends and getting ready for 2021. Next meeting: The next P&C meeting will take place at 6:30pm on Monday, 1 February 2021.
These meetings are for us to share information with you and we benefit from these meetings just as much as you. Your presence and ideas are what we need.
Thanks to everyone who logged into our meeting. I look forward to continuing to work with our parents and community members. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Kind regards
