GREEN REPORT ON
TIME “Good” No Visibility
Issues None None
Roads are mostly bare pavement and/or cleared from shoulder to shoulder. Drivers
may encounter sporadic icy patches or packed snow. Generally, snow has been
cleared and traction is good for most vehicles properly equipped for winter
driving.
YELLOW REPORT ON
TIME “Fair” 0.5 Mile 0.5” to 2” Patches of Ice on Roadways
Drivers may encounter some standing water, packed snow, icy patches covering
the surface, and/or limited blowing and drifting snow. Generally, snow has been cleared and traction is adequate for most vehicles properly equipped for winter
driving.
BLUE REPORT ON
TIME “Difficult” 0.5 to 0.1
Mile 2" to 3" Roadways Partly Covered in Ice
Drivers may encounter freezing rain, water on snow or ice. Moderate winds may be present along with blowing or drifting snow
causing low visibility.
PURPLE REPORT ON
TIME “Very Difficult” <0.1 Mile >3" Roadways Partly Covered in Ice
Drivers may encounter snow drifts, berms, freezing rain, or ice fog creating very difficult driving. Moderate to high winds
may be present along with blowing or drifting snow causing low visibility.
RED
REPORT ON TIME
“Hazardous” <0.1 Mile
>6”
Roadways Mostly Covered in
Road may be blocked or impassable due to considerable snow accumulation, freezing
rain, ice glaze, or dense fog. High winds

Accident and Reporting Procedures
Contact law enforcement and/or local authorities.
Provide first aid to anyone who needs it
Contact your supervision/leadership
Collect names, addresses, and phone numbers of any witnesses
Do not move your vehicle unless to prevent further damage or to reduce hazards
Take pictures if possible before moving any vehicles
Remain at the scene until released by law enforcement and/or safety personnel
