PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES Celebrating 122 Years of Collecting D.C. History
The Historical Society of Washington, D.C., is the only community-supported educational and research organization that collects, interprets, and shares the history of our nation's capital. Founded in 1894, the Historical Society has one of the largest collections of historic maps, photographs, paintings, and archives in the city. The organization hosts 2 major fundraising events, the Anniversary Celebration and Visionary Historian Award in the spring and the Making D.C. History Awards in the fall. Both events support our mission by honoring the people, places, and organizations that have helped create, define, and preserve our city's heritage.
