Faculties and Departments

Al-Taqwa Institute of Higher Education offers full -time various bachelors and diploma programs under the faculties of Economics, Business Administration and Law at its campus in Jalalabad. ATIHE also offers a variety of certificates programs in English Language, Computer Sciences and International Certification such as IELTS, TOEFL, MOUS and MCSE. It is not uncommon to find out entrepreneurs, practicing managers, government employees and technocrats attending these

programs. The diversity in their work backgrounds makes interaction, inside as well as outside the class, a rich and educative experience.

Faculty of Economics

Economics is about choice and is at the heart of all decision-making. Individuals, businesses and governments are all faced with making choices in situations where resources are scarce. As a result, Economics is applicable in a wide range of fields, including business, finance, administration, law.

Local and national government and indeed, most aspects of everyday life.

The objectives of the faculty of Economics are to provide comprehensive knowledge across a range of theoretical and applied fields. We seek to instill in our students an awareness of the values of education and the need for social responsibility. The faculty of Economics strives to achieve these objectives through modern instructional methods, a relevant curriculum and a healthy

relationship between academia and industry.

In order to provide practical understanding of the Economic Environment and to help students learn modern techniques, the faculty of Economics has establish 2 departments i.e. Department

of Management Sciences and Department of Economics.

The department have great emphasis on preparing students to cope with the business challenges in an ever changing global economic and financial environment.

Both the departments have many full-time faculty members including master degree holders and MS from reputed universities.

Study programs offered by the department are:

The Department of Economics at ATIHE welcomes you.

Bachelor of Science degree in Economics aims to produce graduates who possess the necessary skills in quantitative and policy analysis; the ability to analyze, synthesize and evaluate economic

concepts, issues and data relevant to policy and decision-making in the public and private sectors. Students learn how to apply their skills to many different economic issues, both locally and

internationally.

Students gain insight into how organizations are structured and how they compete in the open market. They will also learn about how householders and organizations make economic decisions,

and the government's role in regulating certain sectors of the market and their obligations to provide basic social services.

On completion of the program, they will have analytical and statistical skills which have wide application in the business sector in general. The graduates can work as professional economists

in government, international agencies, private firms and consultancies. Program duration

The duration of Bachelor of Science in Economics program in 4 years consisting of 40 courses in 8 semesters and carrying 126 credit hours. Every year new admissions are announced in spring

and Fall semesters for morning and evening sessions.

The duration of Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) program is 4 years consisting of 44 courses in 8 semesters and carrying 138 credit hours. Every year new admissions are

announced in Spring and Fall semesters for morning and evening sessions.

The BBA program aims at developing a student's intellectual ability, executive personality and managerial skills through an appropriate blending of business and general education. To attain this objective, faculty employ a variety of in-class learning approaches, which include class

discussions, case analysis, lectures, reading, films and guest speakers. The goal is to ensure that each graduate is prepared to contribute effectively in large or small organizations, or to begin

graduate study.

The program assists the student in understanding and developing the unique leadership qualities required for successfully managing business functions, an organizational unit or an enterprise.

The degree also helps the graduate to fulfill potential for high earnings, increased responsibility, and grater personal development.

For the degree of bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) one of the following specialization may be selected:

Information Technology is emerging as a driving force in education, commerce and industry and in our country, there is an acute shortage of computer and IT professionals, so career prospects for students following IT courses are excellent. Keeping this in mind, ATIHE designed DIT program for technical & non-technical personnel to develop their knowledge and to support different industries

by producing skilled and competent technicians/technologist.

The Diploma in Information Technology (DIT) program provides a basic knowledge of computer science and information technology that enables the students to know about the basic concepts

about IT, Computer Hardware & Software, Networking, Internet, Programming and Database Management Systems.

It also provides knowledge on software designing and able to apply networking to computer systems.

This program apart from developing the above mentioned professional skills would also develop some of the soft skills like communication skills, social skills and life-long learning

skills that are required by the industry.

The duration of Diploma in Information Technology DIT Program is 1 year consisting of 12 courses in 4 Quarters carrying 36 credit hours. Every year new admissions are announced in

spring and fall semesters for morning and evening sessions.
