Through the KLIX in-cup system, we have moved the drinks production process out of the machine and into our multi-million pound Basingstoke-based factory. Our stringent factory quality processes means minimal cross-contamination of drinks, ensuring a great tasting drink every time.

TRADITIONAL MACHINES ARE ESSENTIALLY

A DRINKS FACTORY IN A BOX

With many moving parts, reliability can be poor and drink quality less consistent. Traditional machines also select and mix ingredients in the machine, meaning drink quality suffers and cross-contamination of flavours can be an issue.

With a rigorous cleaning process to follow, maintenance on these machines can be time consuming. KLIX machines simply add water, minimising the time required to clean them.

Hoppers in traditional machines need to be filled with ingredients which can be bulky and hard to handle. Difficulty filling the machine can lead to spillage and unnecessary waste.

The KLIX in-cup system ensures that filling the machine is hassle-free.

Reliability

KLIX cups are filled with pre-mixed ingredients in our factory. The cups then lock together to form a stack and are hygienically sealed until installation. Plastic cups are the most durable option for the KLIX machine, allowing more to be included in one stack providing greater reliability and convenience.

Water use

Compared with the paper alternative, the production of plastic cups uses far less water and fewer chemicals. Overall, water usage during the production of plastic cups is approximately 90% less than that involved in the production of paper cups.

Waste water

Plastic cups produce less effluent than paper, generating one tenth of the chemical waste produced making paper.

Carbon intensity

Overall, plastic cups contribute a 35% greater carbon impact than paper cups, primarily due to the carbon content of plastics and the energy intensive raw material extraction of oils and gases.

Recycling

Plastic cups have total recyclability potential, unlike the paper cup equivalent. Paper cups used in hot drinks vending are usually plastic-lined, this combination of paper and plastic makes recycling paper cups far from straightforward.
