1. About This Document
This document contains information about an update to the Experion R310.2 release. It gives you important notifications from Honeywell about your system. It is recommended to fully understand the notices covered in this document before proceeding with the installation of this update.
This document describes the changes incorporated in this update, the content of the update, and what problems have been resolved in this update.
2. Contents of Patch
The patch contains the following software:

5. Installation
5.1 Installing PAR 1-BFHU6R Software Patch on a Non-Redundant Server
System
Before starting the next procedure unzip the software patch package to a temporary directory on the Experion server PC. The unzipped software patch package will be of the form:
ExperionPKS.R310.2.Server.Patch028.PAR1-BFHU6R.exe.
1. Using the Server Start/Stop program stop the server to database unloaded.
2. Ensure no instances of Station, Display Builder, HMIWeb Display Builder, the Diagnostic Capture Tool or Microsoft Excel are running.
3. Navigate to the software patch package in Windows Explorer and double-click the software patch package icon. The software patch installer will start and a WinZip Self-Extractor dialog appear.
4. Click “Setup” after confirming the release number of the Server.
A Command Prompt (MS-DOS) window will appear with the text Installing… in the top left hand corner. A few seconds later an Installation Complete dialog will appear. It will list the software components successfully installed.
5. Click Ok to close the dialog.
6. Using the server Start/Stop program restart the server
7. Remove the contents of the unzipped installation files and the zip package from your machine. Notes:
1. If the software patch installer reports that some programs must be closed before installing, click “OK” to accept this and let the installer to terminate these programs. Otherwise, click “Cancel” to abort installation.
2. If the software patch installer reports that some software components could not be installed, before restarting the server, shutdown those components using Task Manager and re-run all steps of the software patch installation.
3. Some software patches, for example system displays, will not require the user to stop the server. Instructions to this effect will be provided with the software patch if this is the case.
5.2 Installing PAR 1-BFHU6R Software Patch on Redundant Server Systems
To install a software patch on a redundant server system
1. Stop the backup server to database unloaded by using the Server Start/Stop program.
2. Run the software patch installation procedure for a non-redundant server system on the backup server 3. Restart the backup server
4. Synchronise primary and backup server databases 5. Fail over the primary server to the backup server
The backup server will become primary and the primary server become backup. 6. Stop the new backup server to database unloaded
7. Run the software patch installation procedure for a non-redundant server system on the new backup server 8. Restart the new backup server
9. Synchronise primary and backup server databases
6. Uninstallation
6.1 Uninstallation of PAR 1-BFHU6R Software Patch
In the event that a software update causes a server problem after installation 1. Using the server Start/Stop program stop the server to database unloaded
2. Ensure no instances of Station, Display Builder, HMIWeb Display Builder, the Diagnostic Capture Tool or Microsoft Excel are running
3. For each of the software components installed
a. Navigate to the backed up version of the software component (e.g. Honeywell\Experion PKS\server\run\backup\ HscOpciCommander.dll.pre_PAR1-BFHU6R)
Note: The backed up version of a software component will reside in a directory called backup under the directory where the updated component is located
b. Rename the backed up version of the software component to its original name (ie remove the “.pre_PAR1-BFHU6R” extension).
c. Copy the backed up version of the software component over the top of the updated component 4. Using the server Start/Stop program restart the Server
