Durable, sustainable,

beautiful – it goes

without saying.

OUR ASPIRATION

C

opper is an adaptable material with a long his-tory. Its characteristic finish makes the material a vibrant, distinctive design tool for architects and builders which harmonises perfectly with other natural building materials. Its familiar oxidised layer which makes it resistant to weather and other harmful factors is what makes it last so extraordinarily long. It remains corrosion-resistant not just for years but for centuries – even in sea air. That is what makes roofs, facads, gut-ters and downpipes made of copper such a sustainable option.

Copper has been popular since time immemorial be-cause of its excellent processing properties. Nowadays it cuts a distinctive image in numerous architectural projects, in the public and private sectors. Spectacular cladding is used for visual orientation within urban and rural landscapes. The use of copper and its alloys is also on the rise inside buildings, not least because its warm

colours go so well with other natural substances such as wood and stone. Copper is conventionally used for roof drainage and roofing on historical and contempo-rary religious and prestigious buildings, but it has also entered into fields of scientific application. Its proven antimicrobial qualities have led to its use in hospitals, health spas and sanitary facilities. Copper offers much more than just stylish design. It is entirely recyclable, and its durability makes it a symbol of sustainable architecture.

MKM, a long-established company based in Germa-ny, has been a partner to builders worldwide for over a century. Tradesmen and architects across the world value our products. Today we manufacture strips and panels for building on one of the world’s most advance casting and processing plants, the Conti-M®, which we ourselves developed.

Outlasting and outliving

Our expertise – your gain

O

ur copper strips and panels for roofs and facades are made of Cu-DHP. As we supply our own primary material in the form of Conti-M preliminary strips, we can guarantee highly pure products. For this process we utilise exclu-sively Cu cathodes and single-variety recycled material from our own produc-tion. This deoxidised copper is outstandingly formable, corrosion-resistant and low-maintenance. It is subject to the European standard 1172, which regulates sheets and strips used in building.

Word gets around about expertise

We have experience with contemporary design and architectural projects all over the world. In Germany it can be found in the Bayreuth Festival Theatre, Hamburg Planetarium, the Brockhaus Centre and Michaeliskirche in Leipzig, Schwerin Castle, the Hermannsdenkmal outside Detmold, and at many other sites. The most common products are in stock – as are standard sized strips and panels compliant with EN 1172. We can also produce custom orders based on your own standards.
