MUSICAL INTROIT Praise the Lord with the Sound of Trumpet Natalie Sleeth
Praise the Lord with the sound of trumpet, praise the Lord with the harp and lute,
praise the Lord with the gentle-sounding flute. Praise the Lord in the field and forest,
praise the Lord in the city square, praise the Lord anytime and anywhere. Praise the Lord in the wind and sunshine, praise the Lord in the dark of night,
praise the Lord in the rain or snow or in the morning light. Praise the Lord in the deepest valley,
praise the Lord on the highest hill,
praise the Lord; never let your voice be still.

CALL TO WORSHIP
In Christ, God has shown us what Love looks like in the flesh. Love heals. Love feeds. Love embraces. Love lifts up.
The work of Love is bodily work.
God lives and breaths and moves,
not at a distance but in and through our flesh.
Together, we act as the very body of God.
@enfleshed
OPENING HYMN Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
in light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days, almighty, victorious, thy great name we praise. Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might; thy justice like mountains high soaring above
thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love. To all, life thou givest, to both great and small;
in all life thou livest, the true life of all;
we blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree, and wither and perish, but naught changeth thee. Thou reignest in glory; thou dwellest in light;
thine angels adore thee, all veiling their sight; all laud we would render: O help us to see ‘tis only the splendor of light hideth thee.
Words: Walter Chalmers Smith
Music: ST. DENIO - Welsh melody from Canaidau y Cyssegr; adapt. John Roberts OPENING PRAYER

Healer of our every ill, light of each tomorrow,
give us peace beyond our fear, and hope beyond our sorrow. You who know our fears and sadness, grace us with your peace and gladness, Spirit of all comfort: fill our hearts. In the pain and joy beholding,
how your grace is still unfolding, give us all your vision: God of love. Healer of our every ill,
light of each tomorrow,
give us peace beyond our fear, and hope beyond our sorrow.

As we pray, please join in the following response:
Draw us close, and send us far.
Hear our prayer, Beloved.
THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father,
who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, forever. Amen.

OFFERING There Is a Balm in Gilead There is a balm in Gilead
to make the wounded whole; there is a balm in Gilead to heal the sinsick soul. Sometimes I feel discouraged, and think my work’s in vain, but then the Holy Spirit revives my soul again. Don’t ever feel discouraged, for Jesus is your friend,
and if you look for knowledge he’ll ne’er refuse to lend. There is a balm in Gilead to make the wounded whole; there is a balm in Gilead to heal the sinsick soul. If you can’t preach like Peter, if you can’t pray like Paul, just tell the love of Jesus and say he died for all. There is a balm in Gilead to make the wounded whole; there is a balm in Gilead to heal the sinsick soul.

WE GO FORTH TO FOLLOW CHRIST
CLOSING HYMN They’ll Know We Are ChristiansWe are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord, we are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord, and we pray that all unity may one day be restored:
and they’ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love, yes they’ll know we are Christians by our love.
We will walk with each other, we will walk hand in hand, we will walk with each other, we will walk hand in hand, and together we’ll spread the news that God is in our land: and they’ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love, yes they’ll know we are Christians by our love.
We will work with each other, we will work side by side, we will work with each other, we will work side by side, and we’ll guard human dignity and save human pride: and they’ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love, yes they’ll know we are Christians by our love.
All praise to the Father, from whom all things come, and all praise to Christ Jesus, his only Son,
and all praise to the Spirit, who makes us one:
and they’ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love, yes they’ll know we are Christians by our love.
