BOUT US

The Australian Academy of Wedding and Event Planning offers training and guidance to Personal Assistants, Executive Assistants, Virtual Assistants & Secretaries. Our courses are specialised courses delivered by industry experts who have hands on experience of what is required to organise a successful event.

For those who organise events as part of their job, for example a personal or executive assistant; or for those who wish to concentrate on smaller, more social events, such as Christmas parties and team conferences our courses are the perfect choice.

Our event planning and design courses are second to none. Written in Australia for the Australian market, they will teach you everything you need to know to organise corporate and special events for your company.

We have aligned ourselves with some fantastic industry partners including hotels, conference venues, event management companies and design teams. It is with their help that we are able to bring our courses alive here at The Academy.

Our teaching and support staff are all there to help you as you make your way through the course. You can even use an existing event that you are in the middle of planning as part of your course assignments. You can pick the brains of your tutor to help you organise the event as well. As the largest private provider of career training in event planning & design in Australia, and with over 15 years of experience, we have assisted and prepared many students to start effectively plan events for their company.

VIRTUAL CAMPUS

Studying by E Learning in our Virtual Campus helps to bring our courses alive. As well as allowing a great deal of flexibility, it also helps you to connect with other PA’s on the course without leaving your desk. Our Virtual Classroom is a highly interactive environment that facilitates learning and communication and utilises the latest learning technologies including podcasts, online videos, quizzes and webinars. Upon enrolment you will receive a login and password to our Virtual Campus that will take you to your own personalised online classroom. From here you will be able to access all of your course materials, as well as links to all the other main areas of the Campus. You will also receive regular emails

up-dating you on what is happening within the Academy and informing you of any new texts, videos or blogs that we have found that are industry specific.

Within the Virtual Campus you will find:

• Personal student login and password where you will be able to access all your course materials and downloads, submit your assignments and receive your grades and feedback sent to you by your tutor. • A tutor lounge where you can have live chat with your tutor

• Our book shop full of the latest industry text books • Online workshops and webinars

• Student forums and many other interactive learning tools to help your course come alive. • Virtual Library full of resources

• Job Board to keep up to date with all the latest job and work experience opportunities

The Event Planning for PA’s course is a 15 week course which can be studied in your own time or for a designated period during your working day. Each week requires no more than 4 hours of study and this includes your assignments. There are no exams with any of our courses as you are given assignments at the end of each unit. Your assignment will be graded by your tutor and feedback will also be provided with each grade.

You will be allocated your own tutor throughout the duration of the course. We encourage you to submit all your assignments through the Virtual Campus; however we can also accept assignments via post. Your tutor is also available to answer questions and provide guidance throughout your study both via personal email and in the Tutor Lounge.

Event Planning for PA’s Certificate III - $995 + GST

This course has been specifically tailored for busy PAs and Secretaries who have to juggle multiple tasks. We will show you how to take your events to the next level. We can show you quick and easy steps that will transform your events. Aspects such as how to plan, design and implement any type of event from A - Z including all the administrative and co-ordination aspects

.

You will also receive event planning templates to use when planning your next event including: interactive budget worksheet, venue questionnaire & checklist, event timeline, run-sheets and much more. Currently the course is offered by E Learning only and you will receive access to our Virtual Campus allowing you to chat to your tutors online, jump on the student forum, delve into the library of Podcasts and

videos and check out the Job Board. The course is completely self-contained and will give you all the tools you need to organise an event of any size or type. Our tutors will be by your side every step of the way and through our Virtual Campus you will feel as though you have attended class without the hassle of ever having to leaving your desk.

THE COURSE DETAILS

Do you get a buzz from organisation?Does your job entail event planning as part of what you do? Would you like to learn how to move at the speed of light and multi task at the same time? Do you have the patience of a saint, the skin of an alligator and the soul of an artist?If so, then this could be the course for you.

From when your boss first approaches you with the event brief to helping them create a concept, control the budget and run the event itself, you will experience firsthand the expertise, creative mind and staying power required that comes with being an Event Planner. You will also have the option to include training and a 3 month all access license to Australia’s only web based event planning software as part of your course materials. This will then be incorporated within your course assignments.

Your course will include 12 assignments all of which are based on authentic event briefs. These assignments will lead you through every stage of planning an event from an Awards Ceremony to a 4 day Conference. You will be expected to treat your tutor as your boss and the assignment you submit as the proposal he or she is looking for.

The Certificate in Special Event Planning is the most hands-on and comprehensive course available in Australia and it will equip any busy secretary or PA with the knowledge they need to work as professionals when

Our tutor lounge provides the perfect platform for all your unanswered questions. From our pool of tutors here at the Academy you can communicate directly and pick their brains about those little things that may not be directly related to the units you are studying or the assignments you are completing, but are questions in general about the events industry itself. All our tutors are working professionals within the industry and between them can offer a wealth of knowledge, tips, advice and information on what is happening in the industry. Even though you will have been assigned your own tutor upon enrolment it is often good to have the opportunity to speak with other tutors

as well and the Tutor Lounge makes this possible. A tutor will be available online at least once a day, Mon – Fri.

Our online library provides 24/7 access to Australia's largest online collection of books, articles, podcasts, blog posts magazine and newspaper articles and You Tube movies in wedding planning, event planning and event design. You can read every title cover to cover and listen to every podcast as many times as you wish. This content -- selected by industry professionals-- is not available elsewhere on the Internet and is only available to students enrolled on one of our courses. Students of all ages have found our library to be an invaluable online resource. Whether it is for research or just some light reading in the world of events you will find titles of interest in our online library.

Our collection keeps growing, as we are expanding our range all the time with new titles being added weekly - from helpful how-to’s to brain-teasing quizzes and more.
