WE COLLABORATE WITH INDUSTRY The skills and experiences industry needs you to have are the ones we teach. That is one way we give you a competitive edge at graduation and help you reach your employment goals.

WE REMOVE BARRIERS TO YOUR SUCCESS Finances. Accessibility accommodations. Balancing school and life. Transitioning from classroom to your first, second, or encore career. These are common obstacles for college students and we are here to help. MITT has teams of advisors and specialists ready to connect you with financial aid opportunities, help you access learning supports or accessibility accommodations, and even guide you through job search and job interview exercises that help you land your dream career.

WE GET YOU CAREER-READY

Every MITT program includes employability and essential skills training—the “soft skills” employers expect of new hires. In addition, most of our programs include one or more work practicum placements to help you test your skills in a real workplace and build important connections with employers.

WE’RE FORWARD THINKING AND ALWAYS LEARNING

In just seven short years since our creation in 2014, we have collaborated on countless programs and partnerships that provide our students outstanding education experiences and employment outcomes. In the past couple of years alone, we have:

Launched Manitoba’s only nationally accredited, two-year Pharmacy Technician diploma program; Announced our intentions to establish a Cyber Security Technical Centre of Excellence by Fall 2022, creating Western Canada’s leading training, collaboration, and applied research centre for cyber and network security;

Completed a campus-wide implementation of D2L Brightspace, a learning management system that allows us to provide enhanced online learning options.

WHY MITT?

“ We share a common goal of job creation within our industry, and a common understanding that successful entry and growth in this field begins with giving students the right combination of skill and practical experience while they’re still in school.” Ronald Dekker, Country Leader, Canada,

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd.

HIGHLIGHTS OF WINNIPEG, CANADA “Friendly Manitoba,” as it is known to many, is the heart of the Canadian Prairies and a province boasting diverse geography, four distinct seasons, unique wildlife—including the celebrated polar bears and beluga whales of Churchill—and vibrant cultural, sport, and art scenes. Winnipeg, its capital city, is the most cost-competitive metropolitan in North America, as well as a burgeoning hub for transportation and tech: Manitoba’s more than 1,300 ICT companies combined for a 2018 GDP of more than $1.9 billion. Winnipeg has a population of more than 760,000—striking the right balance between bustling metropolitan and easy to navigate—and it is built around rivers and natural landscapes that create year-round opportunities for outdoor fun. MITT campuses are located in safe, easily accessible, suburban communities throughout the city.

BUSINESS AND INFORMATION

TECHNOLOGY

Regardless of size or complexity, businesses and organizations have common

workforce needs: organized individuals to help keep processes running smoothly;

and tech specialists who can create and maintain computer networks, protect

against cyber threats, and develop new software solutions.

“ Some family members also came here and they are now working really good jobs. That inspires me a lot, and was a big part of my decision to come here. I love the classroom structure and the environment. It’s very comfortable. I also really like the teachers, both for the front and back end. They’re really supportive and have taught us things in really clear, easy to understand ways.” – Shivreen

“ The amount of equipment we’re using on a daily basis is incredible. There’s so much that we can work with hands-on.” - Tristan

“ Cyber security will continue to be a high-demand sector, with studies projecting 8,000 new jobs across Canada in the next two years alone.”

Hon. Ralph Eichler, Minister of Economic Development and Training, speaking at the December 2019 launch of the Cyber Security Technical Centre of Excellence.

individuals who want to design, build, and maintain machines, equipment, or structures

and who thrive on work that is hands-on and physically exertive.

“ What’s stuck out for me so far are the facilities and the location. We’re very fortunate to have a millwright program right here in the city.”

- James

“ I thought that there needed to be more women in trades, and I wanted to do something with my hands. I had a few family friends point me in the direction of electrical applications so I figured it would be something worth exploring.” - Alexandria
