Thank you very much for purchasing our product, the runtastic rechargeable battery (model no.: RUNBATT1) for the iPhone 4. This product is only to be used with the iPhone 4.
This battery casing can be used both to extend the operating time of your iPhone 4 when you are on the go and as a docking station with a built-in synchronisation and charging cable when you are at home or in the office.

Precautionary measures to be noted before use
Read these operating instructions carefully as improper use of lithium polymer batteries may result in risks such as overheating, development of vapors, fire, etc.
• To avoid scratches on your iPhone 4 & RUNBATT1, clean the devices with a cleaning cloth before plugging your iPhone 4 into the RUNBATT1.
• Do not open the charger device or dismantle it. • Do not throw the device and avoid shocks. • Do not drill through or burn the device. • Keep the device out of the reach of children. • Keep the device away from heat sources or
environments with high temperatures and do not expose to strong sunlight such as direct sun radiation in a vehicle.
• Do not expose the rechargeable battery to moisture and do not submerge it. Store it dry at all times.
• Do not attempt to charge the battery other than with the built-in USB cable. If the battery is charged otherwise, this may result in overheating, explosion or fire. • Do not recharge this battery close to heat sources or in
the car under high sun exposure. The high temperature leads to the destruction of the rechargeable battery and may result in overheating, explosion and fire.
• This rechargeable battery has only been developed for use with the suitable mobile device as specified on the packaging. The manufacturer is not responsible for
damages on a mobile device, caused by improper use of this product.
• This rechargeable battery cannot be replaced and may not be removed.
Disregarding these notes may shorten the operating life of the built-in rechargeable battery or cause damage to the device. Recharging your runtastic battery
Connect the RUNBATT1 to a power source by using the built-in USB cable, which can be found at the back of the device. The USB cable can be connected to any PC or any wall socket with a USB port (5V output such as the standard iPhone 4 USB wall adapter) or the car charger with a USB port (5V output).
The LEDs at the front flash whilst the battery charges. They turn off once the battery has been fully charged.
The normal charging time is 3 hours.
The RUNBATT1 can be charged with or without the iPhone 4 inserted.
The RUNBATT1 can be fully charged over 500 times, without decreasing the energy storage capacity.
The charging condition of the RUNBATT1 can be verified any time by pressing the key on the front of the device.
The iPhone 4 must be inserted into the RUNBATT1. When inserting the phone, the contacts must be correctly introduced into the iPhone 4.
Keep the key on the front of the device pressed down (the same key used to verify the charging condition) for 3 seconds, until the iPhone 4 recognizes the RUNBATT1. The battery symbol appears on the display and a clicking sound can be heard on the iPhone 4. The iPhone 4 is now charged.
If the RUNBATT1 is used as a docking station while the RUNBATT1 is charged through the USB wall socket or the USB port on the PC and the iPhone 4 is inserted into the RUNBATT1, the iPhone 4 and the RUNBATT1 are charged at the same time through the USB cable.
When using the RUNBATT1 as battery housing, the battery life of the iPhone 4 can increase by 80% to 100%, depending on several factors and parameters, which vary with every use.
Setting the RUNBATT1 to stand-by
To use the internal rechargeable battery of the iPhone 4 first and not that of the RUNBATT1, the RUNBATT1 must be switched off by pressing the key on the front side for 3 seconds. This will extend the battery life.
Synchronizing with your PC
If you connect the RUNBATT1 to your PC, you can synchronize your iPhone 4 directly as if you were synchronizing your iPhone 4 with the cable supplied by Apple as default. When you connect the RUNBATT1 to the PC, the iPhone 4 makes a clicking sound. The iPhone 4 is now being synchronised and charged.

Troubleshooting:
RUNBATT1 No charging display
Verify the mains voltage or the notebook, etc., USB port, if the output voltage and the output power comply with the requirements. Remove your additional USB cable. Try
connecting your RUNBATT1 USB cable to the power supply or the notebook. Test the battery charging condition of your
RUNBATT1 by pressing the ON/OFF key when FULL is displayed.
RUNBATT1 does not charge the iPhone 4
Ensure that your iPhone 4 has been correctly inserted into the RUNBATT1 docking station and that the electrical connection is established.
Ensure that the outlet of the RUNBATT1 is set to ON. Press the ON/OFF key to switch the device on or off.
The RUNBATT1 does not synchronize the data
Check if you are using a wrong additional USB cable between the RUNBATT1 and the notebook. Remove the additional cable. Try connecting the built-in USB cable in the RUNBATT1 to the notebook.
Error messages Check whether you are using a wrong additional USB cable. Remove this
on the iPhone 4 additional USB cable. Try connecting the built-in RUNBATT1 cable.
The device has been tested and complies with the limit values of a digital device class B as per part 15 of the FCC guidelines.
