What is PrimeSecureTM Self Service?

PrimeSecure Self Service is a security tool to help manage your Prime passwords. If you forget your password, self-service will allow you to reset it yourself without having to call the Service Desk.

What does self-service mean to me?

Self-service allows you to change or reset your password on several different systems at one time and in one place using your Web browser. After a simple self-registration process, it will allow you to change your password yourself when your password expires or you have forgotten your password.

Will self-service manage all of my passwords at Prime?

PrimeSecure manages passwords on the most commonly-used systems at Prime. When you log into self-service, you can access the Change Password function to see which of your passwords are managed.

What is PrimeSecure registration?

PrimeSecure requires a one-time registration. During registration, you will select exactly five questions and provide answers that you can remember. Registration is quick and easy.

Why do I have to register to use self-service?

Registration allows you to select some security questions and provide your personal answers. These questions and answers will allow you to identify yourself to the self-service feature if you forget your password. If you do not register, you will not be able to access the self-service feature.

When I try to register, the system asks me for a user ID and a password. What should I use?

Your current Prime UserId and password will allow you to access PrimeSecure. Note that you must have a valid ID and password to log in to do your one-time registration. If you have forgotten your password and have not already registered, you must call the Prime Service Desk for assistance.

Can I choose to answer any of the security questions?

Yes, you can choose to answer any of the questions offered. When registering, you must select five questions from a predefined list of questions. If you forget your password, PrimeSecure will randomly select two of the five for you to answer. You must provide the same answer as you did during registration to reset your password.

Can I create my own questions?

You will not be able to create your own questions, but you are free to select any five questions from the list provided.

Resetting a forgotten password

If you have previously registered and have forgotten your password, PrimeSecure allows you to reset it yourself without calling the Service Desk for assistance.

What if I cannot remember my answers to the questions?

How long will it take my password to expire?

Prime’s policy requires all passwords to be changed every 90 days at a minimum. However, you should change your password immediately if you suspect it has been compromised in any way.

Can I reuse the same password?

Passwords can only be reused after 13 other passwords have been used.

When I try to change my password, I get a message that says my new password is not accepted. What should I do?
