RECRUITMENT NOTIFICATION
CORRIGENDUM
Whereas, applications were invited for 19 posts of Assistant Professors and 1 post of
Director of Physical Education in Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Institute of Engineering and
Technology (PKIET), Karaikal vide Notification No. PKIET/RECT(T)/2015/3735 dated
19.06.2015;
2. And Whereas, out of the said 20 posts, 2 posts were reserved for SC and 4 posts were
reserved for OBC;
3. And Whereas, in the above said notification, no specifications of discipline-wise
reservations were made known to the public;
4. And Whereas, W.P.No.27791/2015 has been filed before the Hon’ble High Court of
Judicature at Madras, insisting for notifying the vacancies with details of discipline-wise
reservations;
5. Now therefore, the undersigned having been seized of the matter and being of the
impression that it is necessary to notify the discipline-wise reservations to the above said 20
posts, hereby issues the following corrigendum to the table notified earlier vide the said
Recruitment Notification dated 19.06.2015:-

RECRUITMENT RULES FOR TEACHING POSITIONS
1. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY)
Scale of Pay Rs. 15600-39100 with AGP of Rs.6000.
Age limit for direct recruits 32 years Educational Qualifications &
Experience B.E / B.Tech. and M.E. / M.Tech. in relevant subject with First Class either in B.E / B.Tech. or in M.E. / M.Tech.
(i) Ph.D. is desirable
Specialization Required IT: Multimedia system, Web Technology, Information Security, Mobile computing, Grid computing, Business Intelligence, Cloud Computing
CSE: Parallel architectures, Grid computing, OOAD, Genetic algorithms
ECE: VLSI and Microelectronics, RF and Microwave Engineering, Telecommunication networks, security and management, Embedded systems, Wireless Communication and Networks.
2. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (SCIENCE AND HUMANITIES)
Scale of Pay Rs. 15600-39100 with AGP of Rs.6000.

Experience (i) First Class Master’s Degree in appropriate discipline with a consistently good academic record.
(ii) Should have cleared NET / SLET / SET
(iii) Ph.D. holders are exempted from NET / SLET / SET
3. DIRECTOR OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Scale of Pay Rs. 15600-39100 with AGP of Rs.6000.
Age limit for direct recruits 32 years Educational Qualifications &
Experience (i) First Class Master’s Degree in appropriate discipline with a consistently good academic record.
(ii) Should have cleared NET / SLET / SET
(iii) Ph.D. holders are exempted from NET / SLET / SET
Other General Conditions
1. The qualification and the experience prescribed are the minimum and mere possession of the same may not entitle any candidate to be called for interview. The candidates’ actual performance shall be evaluated during the interview.
2. Relaxation in age limit maximum up to five years and three years in respect of SC and OBC candidates respectively will be admissible to those who apply for the posts reserved for them.
3. Degrees / Ph.D. shall be obtained from recognized Universities.
4. Degrees / Ph.D. obtained through Distance Education mode will not be considered.
5. The Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Institute of Engineering and Technology (PKIET) reserves the right to fill up all the posts or alter the number of posts or even to cancel the whole process of recruitment without assigning any reasons.
6. Only Short-listed candidates will be called for the interview.
7. The applicants employed in Government/Semi-Government/public sectors/Autonomous bodies/statutory bodies and Educational institutions must send their applications through proper channel. However, the advanced copy may be sent so as to reach before the closing date. The original application duly forwarded by the employer may follow and reach positively before the date and time fixed for interview failing which the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
8. Application received after the last date will not be entertained. Incomplete applications without the copies of certificates/mark sheets/testimonials will be summarily rejected.
9. Those who are appointed will be covered only under CPF scheme. 10. Separate application should be submitted for each post.
