Divine Commitment of

Sri Arvind

Everlasting Insight

the blessings of the Supreme, I got an opportunity to spend two days at Arvind Ashram in Pudducherry and realize the presence of Sir Arvind and Venerable Mataji. Twenty five years ago, Venerable Gurudevji heard about Sri Arvind from Sri Pradyumnaji. At that time I also read some part of Savitri also. Later I read a book titled ‘Divya Jeevan’ by Sri Arvind. Having read many books titled ‘Bhagwat Muhurat’, ‘Path Ka Vidhan’ and ‘Mata’ and realising the contribution of Sri Arvind inspired me and enlightened me. I sensed that the inheritance of our Rishis, Godly civilization, Vedic culture and knowledge of our ancestors are still alive. The ideals of our 196 crore old civilization are still evident in front of us. Sri Arvind and his mother were ideals of the pious culture of our Rishis and Rishikas. I got an opportunity to visit the cell, where Sri Arvind meditated and left his body and where his mother, practicing meditation, executed his ideas. I meditated and contemplated, where his mother the goddess of Mercy developed a place, which was later converted into her temple. I got to learn a lot from the selfless services being provided by adopting the methods of Swadeshi and Self-reliance. I did witness a unique experiment of the Spiritual education. During the stay in Arvind Ashram a few inspirations kept on rising inside me, the same have become goals and commitments in my life. I want to reflect on those inspirations here and I believe that the voice of Sri Arvind is also the voice of hearts of all.

Sri Arvind said that the whole life is Yoga. The result of Yoga is divine knowledge, divine work, divine love and attainment of divine life. In this worldly life the goal of Yoga and Spirituality is to establish divinity among people and system. The difference between the Arvind Ashram and others is that at other place emphasis is on Self Realization, while in Arvind Ashram, the emphasis is on Collective Realization. Because, Sri Arvind believed that like thoughts, suffering also comes from outside. So alongwith the inside of us, our surroundings also must be divine so that there is no place for suffering. So combined upsurge of Materialism and Spirituality is Dharma only. We have never termed Poverty, Escapism, Indifference or non-activity as Dharma or Spirituality. Sri Arvindji spreads message to live as a representative of Eternity.

Truth must prevail over society, polity and systems. Devils must not rule over prosperity and wealth, rather nobility like that of Lord Ram must rule over society, polity and wealth. The whole world and India are going through adversity. Mafia has taken over the wealth and prosperity of the country. Only a few rowdies have robbed off all the welfare and happiness from the people following the path of Truth. We will have to change the prevailing injustice, adharma and corruption with full force, vehemence and energy. And with the change in fortunes of India, we will have to establish divinity and godliness all over the world.

Knowledge of Self

few questions keep on hitting us but because of lack of right answers they remain

unanswered, which leave us under the influence of doubt, ignorance, and in a state of

dilemma. Our effort is to help you so that you can lead a peaceful and enjoyable life, free of

suffering and without any dilemmas.

A

Q: Why are there suffering in life? Ans. Ignorance is the root of all the sufferings. Insufficient knowledge on our existence, our profession and our behavior causes a lot of damage and which in turn, causes pain in life. Q: Is the Knowledge only the basis of all the prosperity, happiness and growth?

A: Knowledge is always for the creation. Creation should always be through dedication. Dedication is for relieving us of all our incompleteness and our dependence. So there are four steps to the life full of happiness... Creation from Knowledge, Dedication from Knowledge and empancipaiton from Knowledge.

Q: What to do so that suffering does not manifest even for a moment? A: Until our thoughts and behavior are appropriate, we could not be happy. Happiness or prosperity is the result. The cause of happiness is noble thoughts, noble behavior and a character based in Vedic values. Q: How to avoid defilements?

A: Not for a moment leave a space for devilish, violent, untruthful,

dissatisfaction, self-centeredness, indulgences and non-belief. Paropehi manaspapa kim ashastani shansasi. And follow the Yam-Niyam, that is live with the divine thoughts and divinity. Q: How to change habits? Bad habits are not overcome and good ones are

not adopted.

A: Whatever we do frequently, it becomes our habit. We must put in a lot of efforts to stay away from bad habits. Even if there is a desire to do wrong, we should not do that. From eating habits to the way we speak, we must stay away from those, which harm others. Must wake up early, Practice Yoga, Put-in a lot of efforts, live happily with others, have

vegetarian meals, have noble thoughts and one must follow an ideal routine with a lot of determination.

Q: What is the centre of complete knowledge? How to take right decision in social, professional, personal and spiritual lives?

A: Knowledge of Self, realisation of Self and self-inspiration are the biggest centres of Knowledge and Inspiration. All the time in our lives we have to make a decision. Before taking any decision, we contemplate; we seek suggestions from people but at the end of the day we have to take decision on our own. So the biggest knowledge is about the Self, realization of the Self and the Biggest Veda is Atmaveda. The loudest voice and inspiration is that of Self-Inspiration and the voice of

Atma (soul).

social point of view, it will be clear that if women will be in a pathetic condition, the condition of cows will naturally become pathetic as the cows in a family is fed even before feeding a kid. It means only women can keep the cows healthy. If cows will be in a bad shape, the Brahmins will also be in bad shape. Science and technology has the same place in the society as head has in a human body. Pure and vegetarian meal ensures mental growth and intelligence in a person. When intellectual people in the society will be in a bad shape, Vedas (greatest source of all great knowledge) will remain unprotected which will make the women in the society feel unsafe and unprotected. When women will be unsafe and unprotected, the entire society will fall in a perilously dangerous condition.

Our society is faced with similar threats. If we want to ensure safety and security of the country and the society, it will be required to ensure the safety and progress of women. Women are true symbols of love, affection, dedication, devotion and selfless service. Similarly, cows who are fed on weeds, dry grass and simple things, deliver Amrit (greatest source of life) in the form of milk. This is the very nature of cows. Now it is high time to relinquish all types of prejudices s about women and create a world according to their convenience. When the women in a society learn to live with dignity, it paves ways for the prosperity of the whole society. In this condition, people in the society speak at length

about the need for empowerment of women. Empowerment means making something stronger, more able and prosperous. Women’s empowerment means making them physically, mentally, economically and socially stronger. Here it is required to note that only those people can be uplifted from their present condition, who have capacity to do so. For instance, how so much you irrigate and nourish wheat crop, it cannot be turned into a banyan tree. Women have enormous capacity to grow; they require to be stimulated for this purpose. If you want to know about the success story of a country, you are required to know about the condition of women in that country. If the women in a country and a society are happy and prosperous, it would definitely be a rich place. This thing has been said by our ancient scholars who said- Yatra Naryastu Pujyante, Ramante Tatra Devata (Wherever reverence is paid to a woman, it is the place of almighty) as the whole universe is made of nature and the human beings who utilize this universe have been brought to this world by women. Present state of growth and prosperity of human beings has largely to be attributed to the women power. Even our country has been named Mother India or Bharat Mata. India has never been a violence-loving society. Human society cannot progress ahead without ensuring empowerment of women. If we analyze the situation from the

love and mutual respect among people in the country and the society will grow and an environment will be created in which everyone will be happy and prosperous.

Women are free to choose any field like- corporate world, politics, law and administration as their career and prove their capabilities. Changes have definitely taken place in the society as we compare the present time with the society which existed hundred years back when women were not allowed to exercise their franchise. Today women can be seen running government offices and corporate houses. Given the lack of a sense of dignity and self-respect, some advertising agencies are targeting them to use them to their advantage. It is required to stop this trend. Such agencies appear to be promoting women ahead in building their career but the fact is quite contrary. It is required to convey these agencies that how they can dare to exploit women for their business gains. Some of the women in the society have confined themselves in social taboo. They need to understand that causing embarrassment for another women by levelling undignified allegations, it would cause immense health

related hazard due to hormonal imbalance. Women are required to know their capabilities and their relationship with the universe. They own immense sources of knowledge, peace, bliss and intelligence. They have solution of all problems associated with them.

One should remember that nearly sixty thousand ideas appear in our mind and most of them are similar to each other. We still think the same way as we did in past and same will be our thoughts even in future. We can be full of negativity in our thoughts. We will face the same the way we will think. We should develop a sense of self-respect in our character which will make us enjoy great pleasure in life. Be grateful to your body, mind and sense organs, feel that you are protected by almighty.

world as a woman and I have got everything in my life. I don’t need to feel afraid of anybody. I am mystic and magnificent expression of life. I am enjoying every second of life. There is an old adage that women are the very foundation of human life. Now the time has come to realize it. But many times we tend to fill ourselves with hatred when it comes to think about men. We tend to believe that women’s growth has been impeded by men. But this is not the fact. Nobody can stop women from attaining prosperity. By shunning such false notion, women should preserve their best qualities and share them with others. Women should always think positive.

Most of the women think that they are surrounded with many problems but all of them will be confined under four qualities- Love, good health, prosperity and self expression. Love is greatest among them. When we love ourselves, we don’t require to seek love from others. We the women are full of love and we have always been disseminating it with others. In short we can say that today we have much better opportunities to grow in life which we never had in past. Women’s prosperity will lead to the prosperity of men.

In short we can say that Indian women are full of best qualities which are required to be preserved.

You have all best qualities like strength, dynamism, liveliness, etc. Let the world to know about your qualities, the country and the world are waiting to know about you.

any people sacrificed their lives during

freedom struggle and Kanaklata Barua was one such women freedom fighter from Assam whose name is counted among most glorious persons who fought for the

independence of India and gave supreme sacrifice. She was born to a middle class peasant family of Bardabari village of

Shonitpur district of the state. Her father was Krishnakant Barua and mother was

Kanakeshwari Barua. Kanaklata had dreamt to see India as an independent country and joined freedom struggle led by Mahatma Gandhi.

It happened in 1942. Freedom fighters of Assam had decided to hoist National Tricolour at every police station of the state and slogans would be raised to tell the British rulers to leave India. In a crowd of eight thousand men and women in Shonitpur, Kanaklata holding national flag and shouting slogans like Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Mahatma Gandhi ki jai, Vande Matram, 18-year-old Kanaklata arrived at Gahpur police station. On the other hand, the armed police personnel were ready to take on the protesters.

When Kanaklata moved ahead, she was faced with showering of bullets after which fell down and lost her life. Her mortal body vanished but we will always cherish her

memory and sacrifices.

She encounters thorns for whole life

When she bids final ado, she wishes to give paradise to her kid She spreads her shoulders for her kids

As if she is offering the whole universe for her kids To protect her kids from every sort of attack,

Sometimes she becomes shields, sometimes she becomes swords When we feel existed in our struggle in life,

When we don’t get any shelter, then we remember our mothers What is love and what affection is,

A mother comes on the door holding Koran with good wishes After keeping her kids under the protection of almighty A mother goes behind her kids

With stammering voice, she bids all the best to her kid She waves her hands until the departing kids gets disappeared When fresh blood begins to bleed

A mother becomes a true image of live desires for her kids When we are surrounded by troubles outside home Our mothers visit us in dreams to wipe our tears When we return back to home after a long journey Our mothers put their arms on our shoulders and rubs our heads Then it appears as if we have come in the paradise When we are embraced by our mothers When we don’t return home late night

Our mothers feel immense trouble as if she is fish without water If a kid fails to be with his mother at the time of her end Her both eyes are kept on the door

She happily fritters away her whole energy while serving her kids Even in her young age, she appears like an old lady

The mother amuses her kid while incurring a grief of helplessness A sense of care for her kids burns a mother whole life, The way dry wood burns in a crematorium When helpless children cry for bread in front of others The heart of a mother becomes immensely heavy Listening cries of life in the city of greed

A mother agrees to wrap herself in a should to feed her children Seeing her kids helpless and adamantly crying for bread, A mother flinches like a sinner when she beat the kid After wiping her pink tears

A mother cries for hours on her poverty and helplessness A mother tries to be happy in front of her kids But she also cries a lot in her loneliness To keep herself always ready in service of her kids A mother spends many sleepless nights

She first feeds her kids with great pleasure and satisfaction And feeds herself on whatever remains after feeding the kids She never wishes anything to get from Allah

Whatever she wishes, its only for her kids

After showering blessings on her sick kids and giving him medicines She goes to sleep below the feet of the kid

Whenever a mistake is committed by a kid A mother gets immensely concerned When there is any unmarried daughter The mother gets a feeling of a new kind of pain There is always some self-interest associated with

Parents cry only twice in their lives- once when a daughter departs after her marriage and

(14)

it has become highly pertinent to

understand the real shape of mother’s

power. In Anushasana Parva of Mahabharat, there is a

dialogue between Lord Shiva and Mother Uma

(Parvatiji) in which Parvatiji asked Lord Shiva that

whether the essence of life in the world is a woman or

a man. On which Shivaji replied:

“NIRVIKARAH SADAIVA ATMA STRITAVAM PUNSATVAM NA CHATMANI”

“T

here is no definite shape of soul. It neither

has woman factor has it man factor.” He further explained that the shape of an individual at the time of birth depends upon deeds. If a woman’s deeds in her life happen to be like a man, she will be born as a masculine in her next birth and vice versa. The conscience is the same. Gender difference is decided on the basis of an individual’s feelings.

Therefore, it is wrong to talk about a particular power in the society. If a society accepts the essence of man fact, it will also accept the essence of woman factor. An individual who accepts only a particular power and denies the other is senseless.

Now Vasanti Navratra is approaching when Goddess Durga will be worshiped all around. In Sharadiya Navratra, idols of Ma Durga are worshiped all around. It is written in Atharva Ved- Shri Devi Atharvashirsham (Shri Devyatharvasheersham). Mahadevi tells deities, “I am Brahaswarupini. The existence of

Prakriti-Purush (Man-Nature) depends on me. I am essence of both the masculine and feminine. Zero and non-zero both exists in me.” Then all deities worship her. They say, “Devi (Goddess) is Mahadevi, essence of power. O mother, you bless us, always protect us.” Saints further explain, “The Goddess is Ashta Vasu, Ekadash Rudra, Dwadash Aditya, she is Vishwadeva. She is never born, she is one, she is everything. Moreover, she has infinite forms, she is Vishwaroop she is a ship, she is infinite.”

Similarly she is the origin of both the Matrishakti and Pitrishakti. She is everything, she is everywhere, she enlightens everyone and everything. She illuminates everything, this is Indian philosophy.

But today, this concept is fact vanishing in the Indian society. India’s educational system and the means of communication are being controlled by atheist and anti-Veda forces. Exhausted Britain after Second World War conspired. Subhash Chandra Bose was heading a government of India from Germany. The whole nation was simmering due to trial of the officers of Indian National Army. British government believed that no force in India was to come to the rescue of the empire as it had happened in 1857 when Indian princely states had stood by the British government to protect it from demise. This view was caused by the Indian army’s disenchantment from the British government. British nationals living in India that time were immensely scared and were concerned about their safety. Finally they left India at an appropriate time. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who failed to get endorsement of any state Congress Committee, was appointed as the successor of British government. He was an atheist and this way the baton of power in India passed to an atheist.

Nehru suppressed and undermined following powers:

their vested interests and resorted to character assassination and plotting against the women. Such records were presented in the British Parliament during trial of Warren Heisting. Maharani Lakshmibai was not the lone women soldier of 1857 war. There were hundreds of such queens and under whom there were thousands of other women soldiers. But such facts were suppressed.

Dharmpal in his book- The Beautiful Tree- and Sundarlalji in his book- ‘Bharat Mein Angrajee Raj’ have presented evidences from British sources that even those days, girls and women were getting proper education. Teachers of all castes and communities were teaching the students of all castes and communities. Even Gandhiji had mentioned such facts in his publication- Young III. Glorious history of India

IV. Indian tradition of Knowledge V. Indian humbleness

VI. Indian Sanskar VII. History of India

First he promoted falsehood in Indian education system. False history was created. He continued with the same laws which were used to suppress the people of India during British rule and promoted Christianity. Cultural perversion was also promoted and false stories were created. Character of women was defamed in the society by calling them source of all evils. Women were deemed as the symbol of sex who distract men. English lacks respectable adjectives for women like- She is beautiful, intelligent, she is best friend, she is source of love and affection, she is source of all happiness, she is best adviser etc. Similarly, such respectable words are absent in so called modern Indian films and dramas. Though she is depicted in the films as the mother who nourishes her kids, but this is basically influenced by Christianity.

Such ideas were developed by medial era Churches which was rejected by enlightened and conscious Europeans who expressed their protest to such believes in the form of movements, demonstrations and galvanizing the people through mass movements. This was greatly done in the later half of 20th century. But in the same period in India, perverted thoughts of Christianity was promoted after 1947 through films. Facts about Indian culture were pushed to the brink. Glorious history of India was suppressed.

India has the glorious history of brave women from Maharani Kaikei to Maharani Lakshmibai. Even in the 18th Century, there were hundreds of such queens in Bengal who were defamed as feudal leaders by the British government. One such queen was Rani Rasmani who had paid great reverence to Swami Ramkrishna Paramhans. Perverted British youths like Robert Clive and others found them an obstacle in the fulfilment of

(16)

India. But pro-British rulers kept such facts secret. If we know the real fact about India, we will be filled with immense hatred about those propagandas which were spread about our culture and civilization. Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati had vehemently spoke in favour of women’s education, their Yagyopavit and Vedadhyayan. Nobody could prove him wrong. Over four crore women in India are studying Vedas under the influence of Arya Samaj. There are hundreds of women in Patanjali Yogpeeth who have learnt Ashtadhyayee by heart.

Indian women are doing excellent jobs after joining army, police department and administration. They are also earning a lot of pride and applause as the entrepreneurs and artists… they have joined over five hundred movements like Art of Living of Sri Sri Ravishankarji. Over 50 lakh women are associated with Patanjali Yogpeeth and Bharat Swabhimaan movement.

But perverted minded a few thousand rulers and youths are being defined as the representatives of India by media and other sources. Such people are real enemies of India, Indians and women of this country.

The way it is necessary to punish rapists, corrupt and atrocious people, similarly, it is also required to pronounce sever punishment for the forces which are inimical to India. They are anti-national forces as they are indulged in defaming the image of the country. Honourable Parliamentarians of this country should decide at the earliest about the punishment for anti-national activities. This is their responsibility. Indian women even today have immense power and potential. They enjoy safety and security which has been guaranteed by their fathers, brothers and sons. Any decent and right thinking woman will be grateful to the men in the society. She will be grateful to their glorious culture. Those who lack this are indecent. The

women who have joined false propaganda and are found to be making false statements are a blot on the culture. They are being perverted and encouraged by atheist forces.

There has to be a strong constitution to stop sin in the society. All forms of sins should be declared as a punishable offence. Defaming Indian culture and tradition is a sin. Declaring the perverted and wicked people as the true representative of India is also a sin. Sin has to be made punishable. All enlightened families have got a responsibility to make their daughters strong, healthy, cultured and well-educated. They are doing it already. It is also required to train the girls and women so that they could protect themselves. But the motive of all such trainings and education has to be clear. The purpose has to be the progress of the nation and glory of culture. Nobody can succeed in life without support from the society. Only then, the society can prosper and the institutions can play a meaningful role. Educational institutions, government, religious organizations and institutions can only then play a meaning role in the growth of the society.

Even marriages can be meaningful when their

The mother who happily carried five children in her womb, the same children who owned five apartments

(17)

purposes are somehow associated with the nation. In Vedic marriage system, 12 sacrifices are made in the name of the nation, 13 are Jaya sacrifices and 13 are Abhyatan. Prayers are performed by Rashtrabhritya Ahuties seeking progress of nation and its people in all fields of life. Jaya sacrifice is also for the bravery of the people of the country and victory. Abhyutan is for growth in life. Vedic method of marriage has a significance in terms of the country and the society. Marriage becomes a rich part of social and national life in which two persons enter into family life after selecting able life partners. This is not a means to provide sexual satisfaction. It has been said in Grih Sutra that after the marriage, husband and wife have to avoid copulation for three or six nights after which they are allowed to have sex. Self-restrain is necessary for developing a good relationship between the life partners after marriage.

Present rulers of the country have made the people of this country sensuality oriented, arrogant and materialistic and consumerism oriented. For this purpose, they are weakening age old strong culture and traditions. For this reason, they are spreading false rumours about

India and its society. They are trying to destroy family institution of the country and promoting individualism in the society.

If such rumours are rampant all around, then every learned and unlearned woman would view each of the men as a demon. Propaganda is immensely powerful thing. Once in Europe, similar propaganda was spread against women by Church and men started fearing from women. A clergyman Jacob Springier published a book in which he talked about how to punishing women. The book reflected immense anger among Christian men against women. Many replica of this book were published at later stage. Famous Christian writer Keren Armstrong wrote a book titled- The Gospel according to Women. The book has talked about hatred propagated by Church among Christian men against women. Similar things are being done by atheist rulers against Indian women. Given this, married women will be able to sue their male relatives by falsely charging them for voyeurism. This will definitely promote hatred and anger among men against women. This will destroy the family and the society.

This situation will turn the lives of women in the society like a hell. Immense problems were faced by women in European society due to such propaganda. But more importantly, it will be better not to indulge in such nasty things.

Criminals and ill-mentality people are exceptions in the society. It is necessary to give them severe punishment. But due to such persons, defaming the whole society is nothing but a crime. Stringent punishment is also required for this too.

As far as power is concerned, worshiping power will enhance power among us. Enlightenment, bravery, great feelings, best Sanskar, best conduct are the ingredients which make us great. Such qualities are essential for both the male and female.

any questions are being raised on the role of women in Indian society now-a-days. But in our tradition, it has been said- Yatra Naryastu Pujyante, Ramante Tatra Devta. It means, where a women is worshiped, it is the place of almighty. If we view according to Islamic traditions, the last prophet of Allah, Hazrat Mohammad has said, “Heaven lies in the feet of mother.”

How it is strange that in one hand a woman is worshiped as a mother, as a sister she illuminates a family, bears all the family responsibilities as a wife and spreads happiness in every family as a daughter. The same women are subjected to atrocities and violence by men which reflects nothing but the duplicity of male. If men, who are stronger than women physically and economically, are denying to

give due rights to women, then definitely it is high time to change this mentality of the men. Women too have to change their role from subservient to playing equally important role in the development of the society.

We cannot deny the importance of women in the society. Their contribution to the society can also not be denied. The society cannot prosper in which women are denied freedom and are forced to be subservient. The whole world is moving ahead. Whole world is changing but there is hardly any change in the mentality of men towards women in the society. Growing atrocities and violence against women in the society reflects that we are still bearing mediaeval mentality even in the modern world. We are required to change our mentality towards women that they are not inferior to us. Women have served on the top constitutional posts of the country and given the fast changes taking place in the world such things are bound to grow. Even the women who are living as housewives and feeding whole family are unable to enjoy freedom. Their contribution in the mission of nation building is no way less than that of their earning male counterparts. We are required to appreciate the efforts and the contributions of the men. Indian society believes in equality whereas western society believes

in consumerism.

She earned great popularity by undertaking welfare schemes among poor and deprived people of her kingdom. Her kingdom was spread in an area of four thousand square mile. British officers viewed her as an obstacle in their ways. They attacked the Mandala

When British forces attacked again, Maharani sacrificed her life on March 20, 1858. She set a great example of bravery, sacrifice and patriotism which will continue to inspire the people of the country for coming generations. To recognize her bravery and sacrifice, the government of India issued Rs 2 postal stamp. But she still deserves much greater respect from Centre and state

Indian women

are carrier of decency,

disastrous impact on culture. There is nothing wrong in changes which take place in course of time. But, it is really hazardous if we forget our glorious past and blindly run for changes. Such changes will be of no use.

It has been said in Rig Veda- Welcome the sun rays in the morning. The bright and enlightened lady should be holding Ved Mantra, Knowledge in eyes, greatest scholars of the world have to be her priests, Sun and light be freely lying on the bed of freedom. Freedom of men and women, complementariness, and no law could attain the height which has been attained by India. Indian women should create such a Hindu society which would have great respect for women. Maitrai and Gargi kind of women were born in this country. Spiritual ladies like Meerabai, Jaanbai and Ratnawali kind of women were born here. The responsibility to preserve the cultural glory lies on women.

Swami Vivekananda asks- Which is more important- the decency in a woman or lives of thousands of people? Who are necessary for the preserving religion of India- Sons or daughter? Replying to these queries, he says- Decency is more important than thousands of lives and decent daughters are more important than thousands of

crores of sons.

§

A lot of efforts and intrigues are being made to change the maternal power of this country to westernize them. But when the women of our country would be familiar with our vast cultural treasure and greatness of our traditions, she would not be seen as a commodity but she would be viewed and revered as mothers and sisters.

We remember our past so that we could understand that respecting and revering women has been an inseparable part of our culture since beginning. It is high time to make the women understand their dignity and decency and not to join blind race for prosperity by taking to necked advertisements. Wearing western garments is indecent for Indian women. Wearing decency and Satitva is dignified for Indian women. Our women are being misled by western culture and Miss World and Miss Universe are such beauty competitions to carry our women on wrong path. Today’s women who have such a deep knowledge about fashion and beauty are strangely unaware of their own culture and ethos. Fashion, beauty contests, influence of vulgar clothing and entertaining ambitions like men are suitable for those countries which are no way concerned about their cultural glory. Women are root of any culture and civilization. When the womanhood will be destroyed, it will have

contribution of women has made the civilization

of India bright and glorious since generations.

When ever cultural degradation took place, it happened

only due to deformities in the role of women in the society.

That’s why it has been said- Sanskrita Stri Parashaktih.

This means, decent women is a true representative of

power and strength. Moreover, it has also been said-

Prajavishuddhartha Striyam Rakshet. That’s why, protect

women for getting good subjects. This is an age old

philosophy but it is most relevant in present time. Who

Symptoms of aggressive air

When the air is aggressive in a body, it is known with these symptoms- roughness, acrimony in limbs, clenching, feeling pain like somebody is pricking with a needle, flaccidity in joints (slackness in the joints of bones), joint deposition (sliding of a bone), fracture of a bone, hardness, disability in the function of the limbs, shivering in limbs, numbness in limbs in an unnatural way, coldness, weakness, constipation, colic pain (intense pain in nails, change of the color of the teeth and skin, the taste of the mouth styptic or tastelessness.

The fundamental place of the air is Pakwashay (Duodenum). When The basic part of the food reaches the stomach, the air is generated. Generally that air is aggravated. That aggravated air is to be treated by providing the proper supplements. We have to treat the accurate causes for the aggravation. When we avoid non-regimen and use proper medication, the air is pacified and would be cool. Apart from this, the properties of the air can be treated through the virechana. For this, the following ideas can be put into practice.

1. Take Oil or the ingredients containing oil likewise Ghee, oil, fats and pulp. Bathe and give Basti or enima.

2. Diaphoresis or formentation (heat bath and bath, using the medicated decoctions which eradicate the air and sitting under the Avagahana Kadha) and to make sweat profusely using other ingredients.

3. Mridu Virechan, the easy excretion or letting out the waste material easily by using different types of ingredients, by preparing the hot and sweat, sour and salty juices. 4. Tie pultis on the limbs where it is necessary, and padaghat, or pressurize it through the blows with the feet, which scatters the airy substances, make the patient errhine (should be poured in nose to make it inhale), rouge rub (cleaning), bathing, conduction (press with hand) and make massage.

5. Letting the continuous flow of the medicated fluid preparations.

6. Make the patient drink the beverage which is prepared with these medicines. 7. Pachak, Deepak (which increases the pachakagni), pacifier of uttejak (Stimalant)

vayu, and using the ingredients like ghee, oil etc. oily substances which are prepared with the virechak (that let out the excretion) medicines. For example, eating, drinking and massaging.

8. Eating wheat and jiggery while taking food.

9. Snigdha and Ushna medicinal preparation for applying different kinds of enemas. 10. Mental treatment in accordance with disease and situation. Likewise- Terrorise the

patient, sudden astonishment, to make him forget (in the case if the patient is unable to forget any special incident).

In Snigdha substances, oil is the best ingredient, for the pacification of air. Sesame oil and mutton for nonvegitarians, meat soup and fatty meat, Anuvasana basti (one type of enema) is more beneficial. As it is said earlier, the original place of the fundamental place of the air is Pakwashay (large intestine). Hence to pacify it, there are two methods namely, niruha and Anuvasana basti . Because enema can easily enters into the intestines and let out the

contaminated material soon, which uproot the problem to its roots.

on water resources of the country for their business gains.

No doubt, the problem of water scarcity is making of human beings itself. Now it is a need of hour to maintain a balance between use of natural water and its conservation. It is required to frame such an eternal water policy which could fulfil the need not only of today’s generation but also of the coming generations. It is also required to fix the responsibilities of the users of natural water as well as social and government institutions.

Water is essential for the future of life on this planet. There is an unbreakable relationship between water-world and living beings. Five elements like- earth, sky, air, fire and water created this world 460 crore years back. Himalaya came in existence 10 lakh years back. This mountain is the origin of Sindhu and Saraswati rivers. Vedic civilization evolved on the banks of these rivers 5000 years back. Unfortunately, Saraswati river has now vanished. Many countries are seriously contemplating on the issues like environment hazards and water scarcity by organizing World Water Day/Environment Day, Clean Water Year, Water Resource Day, etc.

Gangotri glacier is reducing at an alarming rate of 30 meter per year due to global warming. This is posing serious threat to the existence of river Ganges. This has been reflected in the report of Prof Saeed Hasnain, JNU, New Delhi, International Commission on Snow and Ice, Swedish Report, 1999. Similarly, it is also feared that melting of

I

mportance of availability and conservation

of water has always been admitted in India since ancient time. There have been many verses created in Vedas, Mythological scriptures and couplets of poets in the praises of water. Greenery of India is rarest of rare i,n the world. Most of rainy regions lie in the eastern part of India whereas most of western part lacks rain water. Nature has endowed immense treasure in the form of rain water. Given this, many countries of the world

including India are concerned about their future given the declining quantity of rain water. Urbanization, population explosion, industrialization and need of water for agriculture has increased the demand of clean and usable water. On the contrary, the gap between demand and supply is widening by the day. If an effective solution to these problems are not found, then it is quite possible that next world war will be fought for water. River water distribution among states has emerged as a most contentious issue and multi-national companies are trying to have hold

imagine about life without water.

Water

Water is essential

for future

(27)

Himalaya ice due to global warming may cause disastrous situation in the form of flood in plain areas. It is a fact that sweet water is provided in the form of rainy water. Its availability and distribution varies from place to place. We use this water for 8650 hours which is in fact collected in just 100 hours. Environmental degradation in the form of destruction of forests and tress and greenery is causing situation of draught in most parts of the country. On the other hand, it is also causing soil erosion which is a prime reason of devastating flood. River pollution is rising due to discharge of sewage water and chemical water directly in the rivers. This is a matter of serious concern which is needed to be dealt with serious attention. Underground water pollution is well known to all. Even Parliamentarians and the High Court too have expressed concern on it. Meat procession industry and chemical discharge in the water are causing serious concern to the environment. Most of the big states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Delhi are facing serious paucity of water. Rising population and growing pressure on natural resources have reached at an alarming level. We need to protect water resources from pollution by replacing chemical fertilizers with organic fertilizers. Water resource is very important for a country like India which has agriculture based economy. 83 percent of total available water is used for irrigation. Only one third part of million hectare of agricultural land is irrigated by available water resource and rest depends upon rain water. Drought destroy crops of 510 lakh hectare of land

whereas the same is destroyed in 400 lakh hectare of land due to flood. Thirty to 50 percent of water used for irrigation goes waste. This causes flood and draught together. There is a need for a policy on water management to find the solution of the problem. For example- Israel has attained prosperity in the field of agricultural development by making best water management policy, though, it receives only 100 mm water on an average. It is also required for the people of India to learn best utilization of water with proper management skill. Mass awareness is also a need of the hour in this regard so that India could attain as greater results in the field of agriculture as Israel has attained. Water shade management can be adopted for the best utilization of available water. Such methods would not only enhance agro production but it will also be greatly helpful in saving water resources. It is necessary to apply age old and modern methods of water harvesting at war footing.

§

generation but also of the coming generations.
