Work

Zone

Local resident Naomi Brown used to work at a beauty therapy spa until they closed down, which left her unemployed.

“I signed on at the job centre and they advised me to contact Work Zone. I did, and I was invited along to a group session to find out how they could help me.

I was given some clear and helpful advice on how to prepare a good CV and improve my interview skills. I found this very useful, as it also helped me to identify my strengths and weaknesses.

They gave me information on a range of vacancies available in Westfield and helped me to secure employment within a retail store there.

Thanks to Work Zone

I’m now able to work,

earn and study

“Work Zone put me forward

for an interview, and

beforehand, they went

through interview techniques

and gave me some top

tips on being confident”

The process was very simple. They put me forward for an interview, and beforehand, they went through interview techniques, how to dress appropriately and gave me some top tips on being confident.

I enjoyed working in retail but unfortunately the position was temporary.

I went back to Work Zone and they didn’t hesitate to help me again. This time I applied for an apprenticeship, and with their help my application was successful.

A few days later I received a letter inviting me for an assessment which I was overjoyed about. I was successful and now I’m doing a level 2 apprenticeship in Business Administration while at the same time working for OnePlace Hub in Hammersmith Job Centre.

The support that Work Zone has given me was invaluable and helped boost my confidence. Now, I’m getting paid, gaining a qualification and doing a job I love.

My aim is to complete my Level 2 apprenticeship and progress onto Level 3.”
