Introduction

What is Blackboard?

Blackboard is a web-based program providing access to information and utilities used in the courses. It is a Learning Management System that is used to support a variety of learning processes such as the distribution of documents announcements, assignments, readings, practice exams (and possibly actual exams), discussion groups and other features. Using Blackboard, teachers can post course documents, assignments, or quizzes for students. Teachers can also use the tools of Blackboard to facilitate communication with registered users in a particular course. This guide provides an overview of the Blackboard system and popular features available to students and staff. Additional information is available from Blackboard help.
