IGEL Technology
IGEL Technology is one of the largest thin client vendors and market leader in its home country of
Germany as well as Europe’s leader in Linux Thin Clients. IGEL produces thin client hardware based on
Linux and Microsoft
®Windows
®. In addition IGEL offers software solutions to convert PCs as well as
thin clients from other vendors into IGEL-like thin clients that can be administrated by the IGEL remote
management tool.
The Universal Desktop strategy is unique and enables organizations to access very efficiently different types of IT-infrastructures and offers the customer a flexible choice of server-based applications. The software, or firmware, embedded in each IGEL Universal Desktop is highly multi-functional and contains a large collection of server-based protocols, software tools and software clients for connecting to Server Based Computing via Windows®, Citrix® and Linux, as well as to virtual
desk-tops (Red Hat® SPICE, VMware®, Citrix®, Microsoft® and
others), Legacy Host-, SAP-, Java- or web-applications and VoIP.
In addition, IGEL offers the possibility to migrate existing PC or old thin client hardware with the Universal Desk-top Converter Software (UDC) into fully manageable IGEL Universal Desktop thin client-like devices, extending the life time cycle of the old hardware.
The Universal Desktop Converter Software is an ide-al introduction to thin client technologies and minimizes the initial procurement costs of new client hardware. The administration of the Universal Desktops and the conver-ted systems is realized through IGEL’s Universal
Manage-ment Suite; an extremely powerful yet easy to use soft-ware that allows the user to remotely deploy and manage the thin client estate. This keeps total cost of ownership to a minimum, accelerates return on investment (ROI), optimizes security and ensures maximum desktop pro-ductivity and uptime.
For a maximum of security all Universal Desktops sup-port various VPN- and Smartcard-solutions. Partnerships with specialized, well-known technology companies ensure a quick and flexible reaction to any kind of new requirement on the market and a high level of quality.

Sales
To help partners drive sales, the IGEL Partner Program offers regular sharing of information, corporate and pro-duct-focused news, updates, activities and events. Other important components are: on-site support on national and international projects. Following successful registra-tion of a deal via the online Project Registraregistra-tion Sheet, IGEL will guarantee project prices.
You can also use the Partner Hotline to get help with required documents and putting together proposals. On larger projects, IGEL will provide technical presales sup-port. In some cases, IGEL will even buy back used IGEL equipment from customers. This is of particular benefit to non-profit or public sector organizations.

IGEL offers a free “try before you buy” service for
customers, and free phone support to both customer and partner during the trial period. You can also obtain products and accessories at reasonable NFR prices for your own use, in new business presentations or at trade shows. Depending on project size, IGEL’s products can be custo-miz ed to specific customer requirements by custocusto-mizing the firmware. IGEL has a policy of continuous development on both the Linux and Windows® platforms ensuring software
currency and versioning for the life of the product and three years after EOL.

Marketing
