About The Author

Hey there! My name is Nicole S. Cooper and I am the creator and visionary behind www.NicoleSCooper.com and

http://www.OnlineBizProfessionalsPodcast.com as well as many other sites.

I am often viewed as an Internet Marketing expert, Online Business Developer, as well as a Transformational Marketing Consultant, amongst many other titles.

I admit that I’m a bit fanatical about all things Internet Marketing and Personal Development, and can usually be found somewhere in my house on a couch with my laptop on my lap, tapping away at the keys behind some brainchild of an idea that I’m working on.

Deemed as “The Mailbox Money Queen”, I’m overly passionate about teaching others how to generate multiple streams of Passive Income Online to truly be able to leverage technology and the value of information so that we can live a life of complete freedom!

Introduction

Getting started with your online business can be a bit overwhelming with a huge gap between where you are and where you want to be. I put this guide together as a way to help you fast track your way to success, by creating a short cut guide, and saving you about 2 years off of your learning curve by accessing the tools you’ll need to grow and build your business quickly!

When I first got started online, I spent far too many hours daily trying to figure out “how did they do that”. I would comb through sites online all day looking for the “how to’s” and “tools I could use” to get what I needed to get done, done!

So now that you have this guide in your hand, you can escape the “information chase” rat race, and jump right into building your business!

The Foundation:

Building Your Website / Blog

If you plan on being a successful Internet Based Entrepreneur, YOU MUST INVEST IN BUILDING YOUR BLOG! Your blog is your home base and it will be the epicenter for your business and anything you launch moving forward.

When building out your blog, there are key things you must have in place. I consider this to be similar to building a house, so let’s discuss the most important elements of your blog.

Must Haves:

 Domain Name: Your Domain name is like your mailing address. Without it,

you won’t have a “home”. Be sure to invest in a good domain name, and if you are struggling with a “brand name” for your blog, simply use your name. You can always forward it later!

 Good Blogging Platform: The platform is like your foundation, and it makes a huge difference when it comes to customizations, being indexed in the search engines and the longevity of your blog.  Great Hosting: Choosing the right hosting is C-R-I-T-I-C-A-L for your blog. If you’re not careful, you could put all your content at stick, risk getting hacked, or your blog running slow, by not choosing a credible blog. I actually had a horrible experience with a hosting company, which is why I

highly recommend either BlueHost or WPEngine for the security and

protection of your blog. Although there are tons of great companies out there, these 2 I’ve tested and can proudly support and endorse!



Great Support Plugins: Plugins help to support your blog and keep things going. Below I share various tools that I recommend that will be a benefit to you and your blog!

Domain Names:

 Godaddy.com – This is what I use to register all my domain names. They

offer award-winning 24/7 support team. We haven’t had an issue with them to date.

 NameCheap.com – Secure a domain name for your business with low

priced registration and great service.

Hosting:

 Bluehost – Bluehost, is one of the most well established web-hosting companies around.

 Wpengine – The best fully-managed WordPress hosting platform that fits

all your needs.

 HostGator.com – Unlimited web hosting at affordable prices to meet your

needs. Hostgator’s support team is the best. I’ve had issues in the past and they have been quick to assist on the spot. #1 in my book!

 LiquidWeb.com– If you already have a lot of traffic to your site and would like to change hosting services this may be a great option for you.

Content Management System / Blog Management Platform:

 WordPress – We use WordPress to run our entire business. All our websites are created in WordPress from our blogs, to our squeeze pages, to our sales pages, and even our membership site is run via WordPress. With literally thousands of plugins to assist in your day to day I can’t imagine using anything else!

 Empower Network – Enables their members to earn money without

experiencing the most common challenges, pitfalls and problems that most individuals go through when they start a home based business. They provide marketing training, information products and digital services. The affiliate program pays commissions that allow members to create a substantial online income from home.

Themes:

 Thesis – Whether you’re running a business website or a personal blog, Thesis is a perfect choice because it enables you to do what other WordPress themes can’t. Drag and drop your way to a customized design or use one of their finely-tuned masterpieces.

 Theme Forest – 14,674 Site Templates and Themes

 Elegant Themes – Gain access to 87 beautiful premium WordPress themes

and plugins for one low price.

 Optimizepress – Create high converting landing pages, sales pages and

membership portals.

 Podcasting Theme – They create Podcast Themes specifically for

Podcasters. Their themes focus on keeping your podcast front and center.

 Generate Theme – If you need to generate more and better email leads, you need web design that specifically supports that goal. The Generate theme aims lead your site traffic to joining your email list.

Recommended WordPress Plugins:

 W3 total cache – The best cache plugin for WordPress. Optimizes site to it

increases loading speed.

 Jetpack – A WordPress plugin that supercharges your self-hosted

WordPress site with the awesome cloud power of WordPress.com.

 Akismet – Checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if

they look like spam or not and lets you review the spam it catches under your blog's "Comments" admin screen.

 Google Analytics for WordPress – Track your WP site easily and with lots of

metadata: views per author and category, automatic tracking of outbound clicks and pageviews. Simple installation and connection to your Google Adsense and Google Analytics accounts.

 Broken Link Checker - This plugin will check your posts, comments and other content for broken links and missing images then notifies you via dashboard and email. Broken links can be edited directly from the plugin’s page without manually updating each post. Definitely a must have!

 Back up buddy – The best way to back up and move a WordPress site.

 Fast Secure Contact Form – Easily create and add forms to WordPress. Fields are easy to add, remove and re-order. The contact form will let the user send emails to a site’s admin and also send a meeting request to talk over the phone or video chat.

 Pretty link – Enables you to shorten links using your own domain name. For

example: http://nicolescooper.com/pl

 Thank me later – Sends 'thank you' emails to your commenters. Simply write a message saying thanks and it will be emailed after a time of your choice -- 5 minutes, a day, a month, whenever!

 Yet Another Related Post Plugin – This plug-in will display a list of related

posts on your site that are connected based on a powerful unique algorithm that matches them together.

 Disqus – A service and tool for web comments and discussions. Disqus makes commenting easier and more interactive, while connecting websites and commenters across a thriving discussion community.

 Wordpress Editorial Calendar – Drag and drop your posts to manage your blog. It gives you an overview of your blog and when each post will be or was published. You can drag and drop to move posts, edit posts right in the calendar and manage your entire blog.

 Simple Press – Awesome forum plugin that integrates seamlessly into your WordPress website. If you have a membership site you might like to consider adding a forum.
