Keynote Presentation:

Why Canadians Must Invest Globally

How to Enhance Your Portfolio by Looking Abroad

Approx 60 minutes.

Presented by Larry Berman,CFA, CMT, CTA

The world offers some exciting investment opportunities, though Canada represents a mere 4% of them. After nearly a decade of outperformance, the past 3 years have seen Canada as one of the worst performing markets. Its high sector concentrations make it less diversified across economic sectors, and therefore more volatile. Just look at the energy, gold, and base metals sectors; which have all been devastated. Add in mounting concerns about overvaluation in our housing market, and excessive household indebtedness, and it’s clear Canadian investors will need to look to the rest of the world to help grow their portfolios.

Investing abroad has historically presented some challenges. It wasn’t so long ago that Canadians were restricted in the amount of foreign investing allowed in RRSPs, and holding currency other than Canadian Dollars. Investing globally also used to come at a huge cost premium. All of that is now a thing of the past. In recent years, the ETF revolution has radically improved our access to Global markets, and reduced the costs for individual investors to participate in them. Despite this freedom, Canadians continue to have the majority of their assets allocated at home. It’s time for a change. In this talk Larry will show you some of the current opportunities in global markets. Many of them will surprise you (would you buy a 5 year German Bund paying a negative interest rate)? Larry will provide his insight into how you can broaden your investing horizons to strengthen diversification and returns in your portfolio. He’ll also look at the biggest factor in global returns – currency – and discuss whether the price of oil, or the Bank of Canada will determine the value of the loonie in coming years.

Learn how to use objective analysis tools to make better Buy, Sell or Hold decisions. This seminar focuses on introducing you to a method of trading that relies on understanding Market Direction, Sector Positioning, and identifying entry and exit points for your stocks for the short and midterm. The session will include live analysis on the ticker symbols of your choice, and help you build trading plans.

Swing Trading is for the more active portion of your portfolio, where your goal is to grow faster than the market and protect yourself from market fluctuations. It is all about finding stocks that are relatively cheap and moving up to buy, and then identifying when those stocks are getting relatively expensive and showing signs of moving down to make your selling decision. The Swing Trading methodology you will learn can be used over the longer term or the shorter term, the objective remains the same, take full ownership of the Buy, Sell or Hold decisions and stack the odds in your favour before you trade.

All attendees of this session will receive access to a FREE Online 3 hour Swing Trading Workshop where you will get the chance to have your stocks analyzed from top to bottom. This is a must attend workshop that promises to improve your decision making in markets at every stage of a trade.

is a partner and co-founder of the Independent Investor Institute. With nearly 20 years of small business and senior corporate management experience, Ziad was a top executive in the consumer packaged goods industry, serving as a senior director at Canada Bread, Maple Leaf, and General Mills. After investing significant sums of money to educate himself about how to trade, Ziad attended one of ETF Capital Management’s events and met with Larry to become a Client. He found Larry’s knowledge so compelling compared to the courses he had taken, he partnered with Larry’s team to bring Larry’s expert knowledge and process to those who are doing their own investing. Since then the Independent Investor Institute has garnered outstanding reviews and testimonials from the investors who have been empowered by its courses. Trading Around Dark Pools

My Secrets to Spotting a Sell-off Before it Happens

Approx 30 minutes.

Presented by Stefanie Kammerman aka The Stock Whisperer

*Available in Vancouver, Calgary & Montreal. Online replay will be

available in December for all other cities.

Special Guest Presentation

Did you know that over 1/3rdof all the trades that are being executed are being done in “The Dark Pool”? Dark pools give the big guy a huge advantage of the little guy, by being able to hide their orders. They can sell millions of shares at the top without moving the stock or the market down and they can buy millions of shares at the bottom without moving it up before they get filled. Learning how to spot these dark pool trades will help you determine whether or not the market is headed for a correction. The Stock Whisperer has taken many pictures of these dark pool prints and she will help you learn how to trade around these prints to put the odds in your favor.

Learning where to enter a trade is definitely the most important aspect of trading, whether you’re Day trading or long term swing trading. In this presentation, the Stock Whisperer will share with you how she finds her infamous “T” Spot. The” T”-spot, otherwise known as the trend change will pinpoint the exact spot on your chart where the uptrend turns into a downtrend and vice versa. Learning how to spot the trend change will not only help you with your entries, it will also help you learn when to exit your position by drawing basic trend lines on your charts. In this presentation she will be sharing with you exactly how she picks stocks for her “The Whisper of the Day” YouTube Chanel - and most importantly what level she will enter them.

Stefanie Kammerman, aka The Stock Whisperer has trained over a thousand traders worldwide how to Day Trade and

Swing Trade over the past 20 years. She earned a BA in Psychology from FAU but decided to pursue her passion for the stock market. In 1994, she started out as an assistant trader at the prestigious Schoenfeld Securities. In 1996, she became the first female trader for Onsite Trading, winning the trader of the year award her first year. She successfully ran a trading desk over the next few years teaching all the new traders the overnight swing system. She is the founder and director of
