Introduction

This course is designed to appeal to those students aspiring to enter the world of computer game quality assurance. This is not a course for pure gaming fanatics, however. In addition to a love of games, students of our Computer Game QATester course will have the extra drive, aptitude and the ambition to go beyond just playing; they will have a desire to analyse, deconstruct and improve games across multiple genres and platforms, and display real aspirations to become part of this most exciting and dynamic of industries.

Students on the course are taught every step involved in the game QA process along with the methods, tools and skills necessary to be an effective QA just as it is done in the real world. The course is conceived and taught by industry experienced veterans, QA teams who continue to push the boundaries of computer gaming in today’s market. Endorsed and recommended by TIGA, this course is unique in the industry and represents the gaming industry’s preferred induction model.

It is presented in a unique format, heavily influenced by gaming technology to aid learning, retention and importantly, add fun to the whole process of gaining these important new skills. With basic QA through to localisation, working with hardware manufacturers, focus group tests, planning test sessions, managing QA teams and much more covered in detail as part of the Train2Game QA Tester course, you can be sure it will equip you with the knowledge and the skills that today’s games industry demands from its QA specialists.

The course is taught through a series of lessons and examples, backed up and underpinned by a wide range of practical work. Most of the coursework is targeted directly at testing, test management and effective reporting of issues and bugs.

Modularity

In common with our other courses, the lessons are grouped into modules designed to be tackled in a linear order. All modules on this course are considered ‘core’ and must be studied.

The course cost is inclusive of the points shown overleaf; these points are sufficient for you to acquire or ‘buy’ all of the modules on this course only (some courses include additional points to allow modules to be acquired from other disciplines).
