One thing is certain: the sun rises each and every day. Besides giving light and life, the sun emits enormous amounts of energy – and heat. A solar heating system from ARCON Solar can help ensure the lowest possible heating costs. Besides which, the sun is the cleanest of all energy sources – it emits no CO2 – and solar heating systems make no noise and do not spoil the look of the countryside.

In contrast to most other energy sources, solar heating systems ensure fixed low energy costs for many years to come. That is why there has been considerable growth in the number of new, large-scale solar heating installations, especially in connection with district heating plants. Many additional installations are in the pipeline and many of the plants that already have solar heating wish to expand their capacity. Similar developments are expected within industrial process heat. A large-scale solar heating system costs per m2 about a fifth of the price of a small-scale system fitted to the roof of a house. Three large-small-scale solar collectors can provide as much energy annually as that required to provide an average single-family house with district heating.

ARCON Solar constantly seeks to find new ways of increasing the durability of its solar collectors. Weather-resistant aluminium frame and brazed joints ensure long service life. Our first large-scale solar heating plant, installed in Denmark (Saltum) in 1988, is still in operation.

By using tried-and-tested materials from european suppliers and manufacturing the solar collectors in our own production facil-lities, we ensure high quality, low transport costs and least possible CO2 impact.

Our solar collectors are designed to provide high temperatures. Besides the insulating foil, a high-performance, laser-welded absorber is used. This has an aluminium surface covered in a special selective coating, which ensures that almost all the sun's rays are captured and converted to heat.

Foil positioned 20 mm from the glass creates an insulating effect, which reduces heat loss. In addition to this, the solar collector is insulated with an extra thick layer of mineral wool. The combined effect increases efficiency by up to 20%.

Thanks to low pressure drop, up to 22 solar collectors can be connected in series simply by attaching a flexible, stainless steel pipe. Piping is thus kept to a minimum, ensuring simple, cost-effective installation.

Our solar collectors can be combined at will, i.e. different collectors can be installed in the same row. While solar collectors without foil are good at low temperatures, the insulating foil increases output at high temperatures. A combination of the two types provides optimum efficiency along the entire row of collectors.

Standard solar collectors are supplied with 28 mm connectors and 10 mm strips. Commonly known as 28/10. To ensure optimum pressure throughout the field, collectors are also available in 35/10 and 28/8 variants. Our solar collectors are thus available in six different variants, which can be combined at will.
