ABSTRACT

The quality management process is a part of business, now every investors are realizing that, quality management is an integral part of their organization and focussing on better productivity, better quality and lower production cost.

Overhauling on regular basis for their total quality assurance department in order to gain a competitive advantage.

In thispaper, we will study the roleof leadership in improving quality management and also limelight the qualities of leader toensure for sustainable development.

I. INTRODUCTION

Definition of Total quality management (TQM) may be different for different people, but their aim is same, they want leaders principles into action, without sound leadership, the quality control process would be likely far less effective. An organization may have best employee but it takes internal leadership to take quality management to a level that will put the firm in the best possible position to succeed.

There are a range of definitions of leadership each providing a different prospective on the multi-faceted nature of leadership

―The process of influencing an organized group towards accomplishing its goals‖ (Richard L. Hughes et, al.

Leadership, Sixth edition).

―Remember the difference between a boss and a leader, a boss says ―Go!‖—a leader says, ―Let’s go!”

(E.M.Kelly).

―One who instills purposes, not one who controls by brute force‖(James MacGregor Burns)

―….Someone who can take a group of people to a place they don’t think they can go(Daimler Chrysler’s CEO Bob Eton).

VI. CONCLUSION

Leadership effectiveness is often dependent on other factors such as environmental influences, create a proper environment, lead his team from, craft a strategy for certain situations but for being a good team leader external

and internal personality with excellent communication including active listening, memory retention, effective speaking, verbal communication, proper selection of words, gestures, body language, expressions, human touch, trustworthy,stress management, knowledge of subjects, sources of information, schemes, Technicalupdates, quickresponse, TimeManagement,Crisis Management, ultimategoal, long Term objective, midterm objective, short term objective, honesty,sincerity,positive attitude, result oriented,motivation, etc. all these qualities plays a very vital role for the development of good team leader and total quality management.
