Powell Funeral Homes
SERVING AREA FAMILIES SINCE THE 1880’S
When choosing a funeral home, you should always consider.
1. The funeral home’s reputation.
2. How long the funeral firm has been in business.
3. How well you know and trust the funeral home staff.
4. Whether the firm has ample staff and experience to properly serve your need.
5. Whether the facility size and location suits your need.
6. Whether there is ample parking.
7. And finally, COST. Although very important, be certain that the preceding considerations are taken into account.

WHITE COUNTY AGING PROGRAMThe First Labor Day observance in the U.S took place in New York City on September 5, 1882. There was a parade in accordance with the plans of the Central Labor Union for a “workingmen’s holiday”. Oregon was the first state to officially celebrate Labor Day, and the federal govern- ment made it a legal holiday in 1894 to be held on the first Monday in September. It is a public holiday in the United States and Canada and celebrates workers. Many people have this day off from work, and it is a farewell to summer. Labor Day is held in many other countries on May 1.

Where were you when we were brutally attacked on September 11th, 2001? That day is a day we will never forget! Brave first responders ran into the chaos and the danger on that horrific day, just as they do all around our nation every single day.
On Wednesday, September 11th, the White County Aging Program would like to honor our local first responders
with a pinning ceremony to be held at 12 noon.
Lunch will be served at 11:30.
Please help us show our gratitude and appreciation for our own local heroes!
