Please report to one of the Open Day registration desks upon arrival. Registration is split by school across our three main buildings. The list below will ensure you register at the correct location for your chosen subject of study:

Our internationally renowned arts training provision includes a specialist music conservatoire and drama school, a leading provider of media training, and the UK’s largest regional centre for art, architecture and design education, incorporating Europe’s largest jewellery school.

Birmingham School of Acting

With roots as far back as 1936, Birmingham School of Acting (BSA) is one of only 22 schools accredited by Drama UK, the body that has taken over from the Conference of Drama Schools and National Council for Drama Training. BSA is an exciting and contemporary place to train in the disciplines of acting, stage management and applied performance, which should mean there is a course for you whether you want to perform, be the person who ensures the show goes on, or if you want to be a performer with a social or political purpose.

Booking is essential. Please visit the BSA desk outside the Giant Screen Auditorium, Level 1, Millennium Point to book on to any of the above BSA activities.

The School offers architecture courses fully validated by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and Landscape Institute. Our outstanding design facilities include rapid prototyping, laser cutting, advanced modelling equipment, a variety of CAD software including Studio Max, AutoCAD and ArchiCAD, environmentally monitoring equipment including thermal imagery camera, and rapid prototype development workshops for rapid prototyping and digitally driven processes. You will benefit from our collaborations with over 100 practices, construction consultants and design experts.

With a rich heritage dating back to 1843, fashion and textile courses address global design industry requirements, supported by expert staff. Facilities include traditional and digital print studios, theatre and fashion workshops, computerised looms and printers, and industry standard Gerber pattern cutting systems. A selection of graduating students showcase at Graduate Fashion Week and New Designers. Graduates secure employment with known brands such as Amanda Wakeley, Austin Reed, Selfridges, Timberland, and Victoria Beckham.

Birmingham School of Media

Birmingham School of Media is holding a number of talks and tours throughout the day, designed to tell you all you need to know about our range of Media and Communication and Interactive Entertainment courses. As part of our tours you will have the opportunity to visit our state-of-the-art £62 million Parkside Building. The building includes the largest concentration of TV studios between London and Salford, as well as radio studios and Avid editing suites, a moving image theatre, photography studios and fantastic recording facilities, all designed to industry-standard working methods and technology. Talks for our new two-year intensive degrees in Interactive Entertainment will introduce you to the agency style of the course which emulates the way the industry works and preparing you for a career upon graduation.

Road -

for satellite navigation systems

please use B4 7BD

From M6 South or North West

Leave the M6 at Junction 6 and follow

the A38(M). Follow signs to ‘City Centre,

Bromsgrove A38’. Keep to the left and

take the second exit (signposted

‘Ring Road’) up to Dartmouth Circus.

At this roundabout, take the first exit.

Travel down the A4540 and at the second

roundabout turn right down Curzon

Street. After about 400 metres turn

right into Cardigan Street to access the

Millennium Point car park or left off

Curzon Street just after this junction

for additional parking.

From M5 South West

Leave the M5 at Junction 3 and travel

towards Birmingham City Centre along

the A456 (Hagley Road) for five miles

to the Five Ways roundabout. Keep

in the outside lane and go under the

roundabout into Broad Street using the

underpass. At the large roundabout

(Paradise Circus), take the second exit

(Great Charles Queensway). Go though

one underpass and over one flyover.

After going over the flyover, indicate

left and drive up the Dartmouth Circus

roundabout where you take the third

exit. Travel down the A4540 and at the

second roundabout turn right down

Curzon Street. After about 400 metres

turn right into Cardigan Street to access

the Millennium Point car park or left off

Curzon Street just after this junction for

additional parking.

From M40 Oxford and South

Turn off on the M42 and travel north

towards the M6. Travel north on the M6

leaving at Junction 6. (Read directions

‘From M6 South or North West’).

From M42 East Midlands

Join the M6 heading towards

Birmingham Central and leave the M6

at Junction 6. (Read directions ‘From M6

South or North West’).

Rail

Millennium Point is situated about five

minutes from New Street Station, where

there is a regular train service to from

all parts if the country. Trains run every

half hour from London Euston to New

Street Station - the journey time is

approximately 100 minutes.

Walking route from New Street Station

Exit the main entrance of the station and

turn right. Walk up the walkway (approx

100m with Rotunda on your left), cross

the road and continue under the tunnel

and you will end up opposite Moor Street

Station. (Read directions ‘Walking route

from Moor Street Station’).

Walking route from Moor Street Station

Exit the main entrance of the station

and turn right. Walk along Moor

Street Queensway and continue to

the crossroads of Chapel Street and

Jennens Road. Turn right and cross over

the road, walk down Bartholomew Road

and cut through Eastside City Park to

Curzon Street.
