Howell describes an experience modifying an introductory engineering graphics course at Lawrence Technological University to accommodate a student studying overseas. One of his students had the opportunity to study at a university in Stuttgart, Germany during the fall 2003 semester. This created a problem because she had to take his engineering graphics course during the same semester. His solution involved using Blackboard for asynchronous activities for the entire class (posting assignments and giving exams) and using Gradepoint for synchronous instruction for the student in Germany (CAD demonstrations and real-time discussions). He concluded that engineering graphics courses do not lend themselves easily to an online format since they require CAD software demonstrations with graphics intensive programs. They also require some interaction with a knowledgeable instructor to answer questions and provide accurate feedback. The distance education format requires that the student and the instructor be motivated to learn new technologies. The course can be as successful as a face-to-face format, however, instructors may become overwhelmed with a large class because of the time required to respond to students online .

Hence it becomes relevant to use an efficiency estimation technique to identify the countries which are able to produce the maximum level of air transport industry output with given available macro- environment input resources. This section discusses the theoretical assumptions of the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method used for estimating air transport sector efficiency on national level through measuring the maximum potential output for a given set of inputs through application on country-level data of 52 countries here referred to as Decision Making Units (DMUs).

Activity theory maintains that experienced users move unconsciously from step to step in a learned process until a problem (contradiction) intrudes, at which point the user is open to change and improvement of the process. Suchman and others suggest that step choices are “situated”, that is, based on factors in the current problem state. Tension between these views remains because neither has been tested to determine the extent and actual conditions of its validity. Klein (1999), in a series of detailed interview studies of situated decisions and actions, gives evidence that the situation driven thinking described by Suchman is typically evoked by emergency or crisis situations (contradictions that cause process breakdowns). Klein’s detailed study, drawing from many subjects engaged in widely different complex tasks, suggests that these two stances may be the same underlying behavior observed under different conditions. The question of whether the “layered task execution choices” (Wild, Johnson, & Johnson, 2004) of this planning, monitoring, and decision making work can be supported, at least in part, by a user interface has also not been systematically tested. If transitions are marked and measured, their effects can be separated from the effects of the tools, and both can be studied in the context of complex tasks. The framework and vocabulary used by activity theory to describe how workflows change over time with experience provides a workable starting place. These rules show that there the correlation between the two adjacent cell values, in the encrypted images, is negligible. Hence, the results show that the proposed rules have good permutation and substitution properties.
This study aims for using NLP techniques to identify inaccuracy in health news reporting. The re- sulting tools may be used for monitoring the quality of health news and providing training examples for journalists and readers. To achieve this ultimate goal, we propose a two-step solution: first extract the health claims in news stories and then verify these claims against reliable sources, such as original re- search publications. In this study we focus on the first step to extract health claims from news headlines, because headlines serve the role of attracting readers to click and read the whole story (NPR, 2018), and thus the inaccuracies in headlines may be more consequential than those in the main stories.
Some tools were developed to quantify TEs within se- quencing data. TEtools uses TE annotation to create Bow- tie2 index and performs mapping by reporting randomly one position [13, 14]. RepEnrich recommends performing the mapping with Bowtie to retrieve unique alignments [15, 16]. It enables quantifying unique reads emanating from specific families (referred to repEnrich Unique in this study) and the total number of reads, unique and multiple, mapped to each TE family (repEnrich Total). The repEn- rich Fractional method counts reads that map to a single TE family and assigns multi-mapped reads to correspond- ing families using a fractional value 1/n, where n is the number of TE families the read maps to. SQuIRE  al- lows quantifying TE single copies and families performing the alignment with STAR  and using an iterative method to assign multi-mapped reads (SQuIRE). Finally, TEtranscripts  advises to generate BAM files with the STAR mapper, and performs TE quantification using only uniquely-mapped reads (TEtranscripts Unique), or using multi-mapped reads with an iterative method (TEtran- scripts Multiple).

One of the tools to measure environment sustainability of materials is green labeling. It is embedded with most significant environment sustainable criteria. By considering these criteria the green points are allocated. Element is taken as the simple arithmetic sum of the each individual materials which builds up the element. But there are several environmental impacts to be considered, when the constituting materials are compiled together to form an element and these impacts are difficult to quantify. Therefore green star is focused on the direct impacts encountered through the individual materials.
In this study, the analytical sensitivity of 13 malaria RDTs classified amongst the best performing products accord- ing to the results of the WHO–FIND product testing programme is reported . A number of factors directly influence the performance of RDTs, including the anti- body characteristics and stability, the antibody immobi- lization technique, the nitrocellulose type and treatment. The values reported here are expressed in target analyte concentration and not parasite density to provide a direct measurement of the limit of detection of current best RDTs. While blood stage malaria infections are normally characterized by a parasitaemia expressed typically in percentage of parasitized red blood cells or in parasites detected per µL of blood, this value is less appropriate for RDTs since these are not detecting parasites them- selves but amounts of target analyte produced by these parasites.
