the domain of civil engineering as a proper mean to increase the safety and to better plan the management activities. The employed monitoring strategy depends on several parameters such as the type of structure, its dimensions and construction material, the loads and their combinations, the predicted durability etc. In this paper, a monitoring strategy applicable in case of column- supported structures such as buildings is developed. It has been applied as a pilot monitoring project on a nineteen storeys tall residential building in Singapore. The total strain in the supporting columns is measured using embeddable long-gage fiber optic sensors and data analysis is performed according to available model codes in order to distinguish different types of strain such as shrinkage and creep as well as to evaluate the load in the columns. The monitoring schedule has been planed to cover the whole lifespan of the building, including the construction period. At the time of writing this paper, all nineteen storeys were built, but roof and finishing works were not completed. The available results obtained by the proposed monitoring strategy are analyzed and presented. This analysis includes the local structural behavior of each instrumented column, the global structural behavior of the different dwelling units and the evaluation of the performances of the employed monitoring strategy.

It’s also clearly visible that cost and schedule growth effected due to rework in the construction project. We are able to calculate the cost growth and schedule growth of the study. We have found cost growth and schedule growth of case project 1 are 19.45% and 11.11% respectively. For project 2 cost growth and schedule growth are 25.67% and 33.33% respectively. We can say total overrun for project 1 is 6, 81,420 Rs and for project 2 is 21,73,200 Rs which is very large amount so rework is needed to be minimize. From this Study we conclude that rework is generated due to inadequate practices and avoidance of the stakeholders so it’s necessary to efficiently execute the work and must be follow all the necessary guidelines so that total amount of rework and overrun can mitigate.

The list was generated and consolidated based on the experience and expertise of 19 senior safety managers and equipment managers from the top ten construction companies, which among them own and employ some 300 tower cranes. With a view to quantifying risk factors, the experts also assessed the influence of each of the factors, thus making it possible to distinguish between factors that exert a strong influence and those that exert a moderate influence on site safety. Mohamed Saad Bajjou Anas Chafi [15] made a study to determine the impression of contractors and consultants about the main factors about sources of delay. The study was done in Moroccan construction sector. About 440 questionnaires were circulated to the contractors and consultant. 49 causes are identified and grouped under 9 categories. Analysis was done using RII and Spearman rank correlation. Results shows that major causes sensed by the two groups are holdup in payment, low number of specilaised employee, poor consideration in waste management, hidden contract time provided by owners, extra works due to poor interpretation of information, excess subcontract for each work, obtaining permits which was found to be late from government, poor strategy and schedule followed, lack of ability in planning and poor labour. Zemra Rachid, Boudouh Toufik, Baheddi Mohammed [16] identified fifty-nine sources of obstruction in Algerian construction industry. Most respondents include project managers and directors involved in the project, site engineers, senior most engineers working in projects, team of quality assurance including quality control officers.
