A Cross Sectional Study to Evaluate the Storage and Expiry Date of Medicine in Kalanaur Town of Haryana, India

The appropriate place of medicines at home is in a medicines box and this box stored at cool and dry place if medicines box is not available then stored medicines at high place or hung high in a room or in locked cabinet. Medicines storage is very important. Heat, moisture, light and dirt can all harm the medicines and making them unsuitable for use. So there for always asked the prescriber or dispenser where and how to stored medicines at home and always should follow the instruction given on label. Medicines should always store as per instruction that helps to maintain their quality and efficacy. In this study during intervention interviewer give the information how they safely stored there medicines and protect from the accidental poisoning and instruct that stored away from sunlight, moisture and dirt all making the medicines unsuitable for use If medicines are not stored properly may lose their action and become toxic even before expiry date. So it’s very important that medicines should be stored out of children to avoid any accidental poisoning.

Challenging the Expiry Dates of Two Mycotoxins Standards: Afla and Ochra A

Challenging the Expiry Dates of Two Mycotoxins Standards: Afla and Ochra A

Objectives: To challenge the expiry dates of low concentration high purity mycotoxins standards. Literature Review: Aflatoxins (AFs) and Ochratoxin A (OTA) are persistent mycotoxins with adverse effects on humans. Mycotoxins standards are purchased to determine mycotoxin concentrations in food and may be stocked in some laboratories beyond expiry dates causing laboratories financial losses. Methods: Certified mycotoxins standards were purchased over the years from the same supplier at times and at other times from two different suppliers for quality control purposes. For AFs, six chromatographic runs for each of the mycotoxins standards were done to compare the differ- ence among these standards having the following expiry dates (2008, 2012, 2013 and 2018). AFs standards purchased/obtained from two different sup- pliers in 2016 and expiring in 2018 were also compared. For OTA, the differ- ence of concentration obtained between two years (2010 and 2018) was tested. All samples were run on a HPLC equipped with a fluorescence detector. Li- nearity of calibration curves and the points of lowest detection were deter- mined for AFs components and for OTA from the unexpired mycotoxins standards. Results: At a 0.05 significance level and using non parametric tests, the statistical test revealed a p of 0.166, 0.153, 0.358 and 0.03 for B1, G1, B2 and G2 respectively among years for standards from same supplier and 0.037, 0.109, 0.182 and 0.182 for B1, G1, B2 and G2 respectively for unexpired stan- dards from two different suppliers. For OTA, a p of 0.109 was obtained for standards of different expiry dates purchased from different suppliers. Con- clusion: High purity low concentration mycotoxin standards purchased a decade ago ( i.e. expired) did not differ from those purchased this current year (still valid). Hence, the expiry date can be renewed reducing the laboratories expenses. Manufacturers are urged to reconsider the expiry dates.

care providers may have an important role to play, but this requires persons with a formal medical education and strict government regulations and enforcement. Medicines found in the households and their use is the main important part of this survey. The medicine survey gave information on which medicines people access and use, who prescribed them, where they obtained from, where they stored, their expiry date, the adequacy of labeling and patient knowledge of correct dosage. In each household the data collectors asked the respondents to see all medicines kept at home, and recorded the information directly into the questionnaire forms. Almost all households had medicines at homes and only very few had no medicines on hand. Some of those who mentioned that they had no medicines at homes may be afraid to show their medicines. The average number of medicines found per a household (4 medicines) is considered to be relatively high and a very large number of medicines (15 medicines) was found in one of the surveyed households. The medications most frequently located in homes were musculoskeletal/joints medicines. The views of family, closes friends, and the community will often influence the people who are ill to decide whether to go ahead for treatment or not. Once they decide that help is needed, people choose where to seek help. The sources of care from which patient received care at time of illness were health workers in a public or private health facility, traditional healers, or self-medicated by self, relative or other member of the community. Self-medication was prevalent among households participating in this study.

Exact Methods for Path Dependent Credit Exposure

Exact Methods for Path Dependent Credit Exposure

A barrier option, including one-touch option, is path-dependent. If the underlying state variable reaches some pre-defined barrier level during the life of the barrier option, the option either ceases to exist (knocked out) or becomes a standard European option (knocked in). Modeling barrier option exposure is complicated because the future instrument type of a today’s barrier option depends on what happens between now and then. In other words, barrier option exposure depends on the instrument aging. In the previous section, we discussed a model for the swap- settled European swaption exposure. European swaption exposure calculation requires monitoring the underlying swap value only at the option expiry date. In contrast, barrier option exposure requires continuous monitoring of the entire option life.

Lock-up Expiry and Trading Volume Behaviour of Malaysian Initial Public Offering’s

Lock-up Expiry and Trading Volume Behaviour of Malaysian Initial Public Offering’s

The study aims to investigate the lock-up provisions of initial public offering’s (IPOs) and its effects on trading volume changes around the lock-up expiry date of Malaysian IPOs by using both the event study methodology and the comparison period returns approach (CPRA). Unlike the US and the UK, Malaysia’s lock-up length is fixed and the number of shares that should be under the lock-up is pre-determined by the security commission. The sample comprises 379 Malaysian IPOs, issued from January 2001 to December 2011. The results of the event study methodology and CPRA shows a positive abnormal trading volume at lock-up expiry date for IPO market, except for the ACE market, construction and technology sectors, which is negative and is not consistent with our hypothesis and there is no evidence in previous literatures regarding the significant negative trading volume before and after the lock-up. High trading volume at and around the lock-up expiration is compatible with shareholders’ selling due to diversification reasons and wealth recognition and which is also an indication of insider’s lack of confidence about a company’s future prospect. Significant negative trading volume can be interpreted in a way that insiders of those related boards and sectors do not sell their shares significantly but would rather watch what would happen to the market and are optimistic about Market’s future. Furthermore, when we do not adjust the trading volume for the market, the CPRA methodology does not show abnormal trading volume between event window and non-event windows.

Microbial Ecology of Retail Ready-to-Eat Escarole and Red Chicory Sold in Palermo City, Italy

For both escarole and red chicory samples in this survey, the evolution of the microbiological parameters was estimated at the expiry date (9 days after production) indicated on the labels. The microbiological analyses evidenced statistical differences among four of ten microbial groups investigated for two mono-varietal salads. The levels of TPM, TMM, and pseudomonads were found at the highest cell densities in the vegetables as reported in Tehran, Iran (Zare Jeddi et al., 2014), Palermo, Italy (Alfonzo et al., 2018), Avezzano, Italy (Lavelli et al., 2009), Palermo, Italy (Miceli et al., 2019), and Athens, Greece (Tsironi et al., 2017). All these study reported levels of aerobic microbial groups always lower than 7 log 10 CFU/g. Similarly, analysis of RTE commer-

Need of education for dry powder inhaler storage and retention – a patient-reported survey

The present patient reported survey indicates that two third of the patients store their inhaler devices in suboptimal conditions, and only a minority had re- ceived instruction regarding inhaler handling. Two thirds of the study population checked inhaler expiry date less than monthly or not at all. Use of more than one maintenance inhaler simultaneously was common. Overall, this may impact the functionality of the device and result in sub-optimal treatment. Im- proved communication and patient education to en- sure adherence to the different requirements of each inhaler device is needed.

Gift Vouchers and Expiry Dates: When the Gift Stops Giving

Gift Vouchers and Expiry Dates: When the Gift Stops Giving

In view of these factors, perhaps it may be argued that by imposing an expiry date on a gift voucher it sells to a consumer, a retailer is engaging in unconscionable conduct prohibited under the TPA. After all, when it sells a gift voucher to a consumer, the retailer undertakes to supply the consumer with the good or service provided under the voucher. As long as it is able to trade, the retailer is bound to provide that good or service when the voucher is redeemed, and should do so no matter when this takes place. If unconscionability were found not to apply, and in the absence of other factors such as fraud, misrepresentation, misleading or deceptive conduct, undue influence or duress on the part of the gift voucher’s provider, the TPA would have no application to expiry dates on gift vouchers. For the same reason, the State and Territory fair trading legislation enacted to implement the provisions of the TPA would be unlikely to apply too. 56

Expiry detection of honeycomb structured green pallets: A case study

Expiry detection of honeycomb structured green pallets: A case study

The problem with green pallets is the durability which is lesser than other types of pallets. Also, there is no way to detect the expiry of pallets which could be the reason of accidents in industries. These drawbacks can increase the overall cost of production, increase the time of production, increase laborhazards etc. The solution for the expired green pallet is to generate the expiry date and the detection of that date with the help of radio frequency identification (RFID) tags. The expiry date generation can be done by testing the strength of green pallets, creating some statistical models and putting RFID tags on pallets. Attached RFID reader and LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) will show the total number of shifts taken by a particular pallet. This will give an idea to the worker about the shifts of a pallet and if the number of shifts exceeds the permissible limit then the entry gate will not open and will not allow the loading. In that case, it will be essential to check the pallet, and if require, repairing and reuse will be done. If the pallet is in a much damaged condition then the recycling will be done and the ID of that particular pallet will be allocatedto another pallet.

ZLERP: Zone and Link Expiry based Routing Protocol for MANETs

ZLERP: Zone and Link Expiry based Routing Protocol for MANETs

Both proactive and reactive routing schemes have specific advantages and disadvantages that make them suitable for certain types of scenarios. Since proactive routing maintains information that is immediately available, the delay before sending a packet is minimal. On the contrary, reactive protocols must first determine the route, which may result in considerable delay if the information is not available in cache. Moreover, the reactive route search procedure may involve significant control traffic due to global flooding. Purely proactive schemes use a large portion of the bandwidth to keep routing information up-to-date. Because of fast node mobility, the route updates may be more frequent than the route requests, and most of the routing information is never used. Some of the scarce bandwidth is thus wasted [8].

Survivor Derivatives: A Consistent Pricing Framework

Survivor Derivatives: A Consistent Pricing Framework

does not have to be π forwardswap but can be any value that the parties agree. However, using π forwardswap as an example shows how put-call 12 parity applies to such swap- tions. An investor who purchases a payer swaption, at strike price π forwardswap , and writes a receiver swaption with an identical specification has synthesized a forward survivor swap. Since such a contract could be opened at zero cost, it follows that a synthetic replication must also be available at zero cost. Hence, the premium paid for the payer swaption must equal the premium received for the receiver swaption. The exercise of these swaptions could be settled either by delivery (i.e., the parties enter into opposite positions in the underlying swap) or by cash, in which case the writer pays the holder Max[0, φπ expiry − φπ strike ]N n f = 1 D expiry,n Y n H(n) with φ set

The Pricing of Dual Expiry Exotics with Mean Reversion and Jumps

The Pricing of Dual Expiry Exotics with Mean Reversion and Jumps

[1] develops a new technique for pricing dual-expiry exotic options by as- suming the underlying asset price dynamics follows continuous geometric Brownian motion. The method exploits the observation that dual expiry options have payoffs that can be perfectly replicated by a particular set of first and second order binary options. Hence, in order to avoid arbitrage, the exotic op- tion prices are obtained by static replication with respect to this family of bina- ries. As pointed out by [1], the representation of prices in terms of binaries is quite general and does not depend on any particular underlying asset price dy- namics. In the Black-Scholes (BS) framework, [2] extends the method of [1] for pricing multiple-expiry options using a concept of higher order binary options. [3] [4] generalize [1] for dual- and multiple-expiry exotics to a Lévy environ- ment. The binary option prices are derived using the mathematical methodology of [5] that employs the pseudo-differential operators whose symbol is expressed in terms of the characteristic exponent of the underly Lévy process. [6] further generalizes method of [1] to exotics with multiple-asset and multiple-expiry.

The American straddle close to expiry

The American straddle close to expiry

One of the classic problems of mathematical finance is the pricing of American options and the behavior of the optimal exercise boundary close to expiry. For the uninitiated, financial derivatives are securities whose value is based on the value of some other under- lying security, and options are an example of derivatives, carrying the right but not the obligation to enter into a specified transaction in the underlying security. A call option allows the holder to buy the underlying security at a specified strike price E, a put option allows the holder to sell the underlying at the price E, while a straddle, which we consider in the current study, allows the holder the choice of either buying or selling (but not both) the security. If S is the price of the underlying, then the payoff at expiry is max(S − E, 0) for a call, max(E − S, 0) for a put, and max(S − E, E − S) for a straddle. From this payoff, it would appear at first glance that the holder of a straddle is holding a call and a put on the same underlying with the same strike and the same expiry, but is only allowed to exercise one. This is true for a European straddle, which can be exercised at expiry, because if the call is in the money, the put must be out of the money and vice versa, and the holder will naturally exercise whichever of the call and the put is in the money at expiry, unless he is unlucky enough that S = E so that they are both exactly at the money, and the payoff is zero.

Application and Evaluation of SPD Based Logistics Management Model for Medical Consumables in Clinical Nursing Departments

Implementation of quick response (QR) code management for MCs: QR code is a type of advanced logistics identification technology (17). The information of this code can contain is flexible depending on the specific departmental requirements. In this hospital, a dedicated QR code label (including the item name, specification, manufacturer, date of manufacture, expiry date, and quantity) was af- fixed to all MCs and split items were delivered by the suppliers. These suppliers were requested to dispatch supplies to the clinical care department’s secondary warehouse only after this code was scanned, followed by acknowledgement of re- ceipt by the hospital. Healthcare workers teared off the QR code and pasted it onto a unified col- lection form when they used the MCs. Each week, the supplier replenished the MCs, recycled the collection form, and re-scanned the QR code. Statistics and analysis of existing weekly con- sumption of MCs by the clinical care department were generated, and these data provided the basis for replenishment in the next cycle. To aid the management of the clinical care department, the supplier copied the form and handed it to them for their records.

STABILITY TESTING AND SHELF LIFE DETERMINATION OF AYURVEDA, SIDDHA AND UNANI MEDICINE .......

Two approaches can be followed to monitor the stability of the product. The first approach is to store the samples of same batch material at standard storage and accelerated storage conditions and test them periodically. Based on the evaluation of the results, the expiry date or shelf life may be determined. The second approach called “cross sectional approach” is applicable for existing products which do not have yet a declared shelf life. The approach is to select samples from batches manufactured over a pe- riod of last five years spanning six months and evaluate them simultaneously. Based on the result obtained the ex- piry date or shelf life may be determined.
